Maybe I really am a Villian
Chapter 289: Preparation
After taking the vessel out of the subspace, one of Asher’s vessels carefully checked the body of the Empath Demon to see if there were any injuries on it.
After finding no injuries on the corpse of the Empath Demon, the vessel extended his hand toward the corpse and then started changing the Empath Demon’s body into a vessel as well.
Just after two minutes, the process was finished.
The corpse of the Empath Demon suddenly opened its eyes and then turned its gaze toward the other vessels present in the room.
And then it opened its mouth and cursed, "Fuck, I hate these Demon bodies. They are even worse than human bodies."
The other vessels simply shrugged before one of them said, "Well, we are desperate, so there is nothing we can do about that. The only thing we can do right now is learn what we need from this Demon vessel, make what we need, and then destroy this vessel."
The vessel with the Demon body just nodded.
The other vessels didn’t say anything else and left the room one after another, leaving only the Demon vessel behind.
The newly created vessel remained alone in the room, silently getting used to its new body.
Next Day
Afternoon
Academy Cafeteria
Asher entered the cafeteria, and as soon as he did, he found it even noisier than it usually was.
The entire cafeteria was filled with the sound of people talking among themselves.
Asher didn’t think much of it.
He simply took his food and moved toward his usual table.
But when Asher reached the table, he was a little surprised.
Because Noah and Adam were both there.
For some reason, they were both there today.
Asher looked at them briefly before taking his seat. He then looked at Noah, turned his gaze toward Adam, and finally asked, "What happened? Why are you two guys here? Did you get kicked out of your new cool kids’ group?"
By "cool kids," Asher meant Noah’s girlfriend’s group, which consisted of many noble kids and had been created for some stupid political reasons among the nobles.
Neither Noah nor Adam showed much reaction to Asher’s statement.
They were already used to him, and they knew that reacting to his words would only make things worse.
Noah simply replied, "Nah, it’s not like that. It’s just that we have a test next Monday, which you don’t know about because you don’t care about it. But we do, so we are here to talk about that."
Asher looked at Noah and then sighed. His tone was filled with boredom as he said, "So that’s why everyone is being noisier today. What a drag. There is no fun in Academy tests. They are too boring. Everyone in the test is so weak, so the tests are almost useless."
Noah and Adam just stared at Asher for a moment.
They couldn’t help but agree inwardly.
Though that was only true for Asher.
For him, Academy tests really were almost useless.
Then Adam was the one who replied to Asher.
"Don’t worry. This time, the test won’t be as boring as you think it will be."
Asher took a bite of his food and then said in a completely uninterested tone, "Explain."
Adam then started explaining the exam.
He explained the rules, the conditions, and how the students would have to participate in the test.
After he had fully explained the exam, Asher went into thought for a moment.
Noah then looked at him and asked, "So what do you think about it?"
Asher looked at Noah and then said in a calm tone, "Nothing much. Just that Adam is bad at explaining things too."
Adam simply sighed.
He didn’t take the bait this time.
Instead, he ignored Asher’s comment and asked, "I mean, about the exam. Aren’t you worried about that? You are going to be the same as everyone else. Same mana, strength, speed, and spells."
Asher took another bite of his food before calmly replying.
"Oh, about that? It’s good. Finally, at last, it would at least be fun to participate in an Academy test."
And then it was Aria who suddenly said, "So, before the test, we are thinking of training in the virtual simulation to get used to the feeling of being inside the simulation. We are thinking of training in the simulation from tomorrow onwards. The simulation pods are available now in the training room, so we can use them tomorrow. So, would you join us? That is the thing we wanted to ask. In short, would you join too?"
Asher thought for a moment and then said, "I have a better plan. I already have many pods, so let’s start the training from tonight instead. I know many good games that you could train in, and they will also be fun to play."
Noah and Adam looked at each other for a moment and then nodded.
There was no reason for them to deny it.
If Asher was saying that he had simulation pods, then that was good for them. They could start their training earlier instead of waiting until tomorrow.
Though they had no idea why Asher had more than one simulation pod.
And honestly, they didn’t want to ask.
They knew Asher well enough to understand that asking him questions like that could easily turn into a hassle. They might end up having to listen to some nonsense explanation from Asher for the next several minutes.
As long as they could use the pods without any limitations, there was no reason to complain.
In fact, it was probably better than using the Academy’s simulation pods, since those would most likely have some limitations because they were Academy property.
After talking about it for a little longer, all of them decided to meet in Asher’s room after dinner.
They would start training that night and use the virtual simulations to get used to the feeling of fighting inside a simulated environment before the upcoming test.
