Mommy, Daddy Has Already Regretted It
Chapter 245: Want to Bully Christian? Dream On
Chapter 245: Chapter 245: Want to Bully Christian? Dream On
Sophie Foster’s face flushed red with anger.
Thea York was at a loss for words for several seconds. Her smile slipped, and she said stiffly, "Estelle... that’s not what I meant. I never said those things either. Sophie has always been the one spouting nonsense."
Estelle Lockwood smiled brightly. "So, Miss Foster, do you admit that you’re just being petty?"
Sophie had imagined Estelle was a thief, but when proven wrong, she had held a grudge and gone around claiming Estelle was about to be dumped. If that wasn’t being petty, what was?
How could Sophie admit to that? Her eyes widened. "Thea!! You were clearly the one who said it! I... I don’t even know Estelle well, so why would I make things up about her behind her back? Thea, did you forget? You said these things to me on the phone the day before yesterday..."
"Sophie, enough!"
Thea’s tone turned severe as she righteously accused, "I didn’t expect you to be this kind of person, taking the opportunity to drive a wedge between me and Estelle!
"If I weren’t here today, would your instigation have succeeded? I’d have become the woman you described—the mistress scheming to take her place! Sophie, I have never done anything to wrong you. Why are you framing me like this?"
Sophie was completely stunned.
Estelle felt the urge to applaud.
Thea’s selective amnesia was acting up again. Just a few days ago, she had secretly taken Sophie’s bracelet, and now she was spouting, "I have never done anything to wrong you." Tsk, tsk, tsk.
Sophie stared at the self-righteous Thea in a daze. She seemed unable to believe those words had come from the mouth of the person she trusted most. "Thea..."
"Sophie, please apologize!" Thea was growing anxious. She knew she had to force Sophie to take the fall right now so she could completely distance herself from those rumors.
But what would happen to Sophie? What did that have to do with her? It was Sophie’s own fault for having bad luck.
Sophie had treated her as a friend all these years, so sacrificing herself for a friend should be an honor.
Thea pressed her. "Sophie, say something!"
Sophie might have been foolish, but at this point, how could she not see that Thea was trying to use her as a human shield?
She stared in disbelief. "Thea, how could you be so cruel..."
Thea turned her head. "Nathaniel, you see, this was all Sophie... As her friend, I want to plead for her. For my sake, please don’t take action against the Foster family, okay? Sophie is just young and ignorant..."
At the mention of the Foster family, Sophie’s lips suddenly trembled.
She knew this was a thinly veiled threat from Thea.
If she took the blame now, Thea would still put in a good word for her, and perhaps Mr. Sloan would spare the Foster family. But if she insisted on arguing with Thea, the York family alone could crush the Fosters like ants!
Thea’s message was clear: she was taking the fall no matter what!
But why should she?!
However, no matter how furious Sophie was, for the sake of her parents, she could only bite her lip, tears welling in her eyes. "Yes... it was all my nonsense. It’s my fault. Are you satisfied now, Thea?!"
Thea shook her head helplessly, her smile forgiving, as if she were looking at an erring younger sister. "Nathaniel, see? Sophie knows she was wrong. I’ll apologize to Estelle on her behalf."
Estelle couldn’t help but nod. Sure enough, a little dimwit like Sophie could never outplay a master manipulator like Thea.
Thea was clearly the one who had told Sophie those things, and Sophie had only caused trouble for Estelle on Thea’s behalf. Sophie was merely the messenger; the true source was Thea. Yet now, Sophie had become the heinous villain, while Thea not only washed her hands of the matter but also earned the reputation of being a benevolent older sister.
Since when did the world work like that?
Estelle clicked her tongue. Just as she was about to speak, Luke White suddenly came running over in a hurry.
"Mr. Sloan, sir! Something’s happened!"
Estelle instinctively turned her head and heard Luke say, "Young Mr. Christian, he... he... He and Mrs. York got into a fight!"
Estelle was speechless.
Nathaniel’s eyes darkened. "Where are they?"
Luke quickly stepped aside to clear a path. "Right in the children’s play area."
At that moment, Thea also received a phone call. "Thea, come quick! Mom was beaten up by Christian Sloan!"
Thea bit her lower lip. "Nathaniel, my mother loves children and has always been kind to Christian. How could he..."
"Miss York," Estelle interrupted, her tone slow and deliberate. "We haven’t even seen them yet. Don’t be so quick to shift the blame."
Thea’s eyes darted around. Thank goodness Christian had impulsively started a fight! Even though her mother had been beaten, it had at least solved her immediate crisis!
Estelle exchanged a glance with Nathaniel. She refused to believe her son would hit someone for no reason. Especially Christian—how was that even possible?
So, they hurriedly rushed to the scene.
One hour earlier.
The three little ones had heard that their daddy and mommy went to the mall, so they relentlessly pestered Luke into taking them there too. Left with no other choice, Luke brought them to the mall’s children’s play area.
Unexpectedly, Mrs. York happened to be there as well.
Right next to the children’s play area was a high-end beauty salon. Mrs. York was in the middle of getting a beauty treatment, and the moment she saw Christian and the other two, malicious thoughts began to brew.
Originally, her daughter could have married Nathaniel. So what if Nathaniel was already married? Hadn’t her own husband been married back then, too?
But Estelle had children—three of them, no less—and Nathaniel treasured them dearly. This invisibly caused a lot of trouble for Thea. Naturally, Mrs. York found the three children an eyesore and wanted to teach them a lesson.
The last time she had brought Christian to the York family home, her attempt to punish him had failed. This time, Mrs. York intended to use a different method. She had obtained a set of silver needles from someone. These silver needles were incredibly fine; even if they pierced the skin, they would leave no marks.
Didn’t Christian Sloan like being a busybody? Fine, she would teach him a thorough lesson today!
They were just kids—all they could do was cry and make a fuss. Even if she abused them, what could they really do about it? Estelle was only lucky to have these three brats. If these three little bastards died, who could stand in her daughter’s way!
However, she was kind-hearted after all. She wouldn’t actually kill the three children; she would, at most, teach them a lesson.
Thus, Mrs. York slipped an attendant some money to bring "Christian Sloan" to her.
Zachery was speechless.
"Hello, we meet again~" he thought.
Mrs. York felt a surge of irritation. She sneered inwardly, "Heh, you little bastard, you can still smile? Don’t worry, you won’t be smiling for much longer!"
She smiled viciously. "Look at you, a little bastard draped in gold and silver. Nathaniel sure is generous. It’s a pity, though. When the time comes, you and your slut of a mother will still be kicked out with nothing. In the future, everything Nathaniel owns will belong to my daughter!"
Back in the day, Mrs. York had said these exact words to the York family’s original wife and Stella York. She felt incredibly vindicated.
Looking down her nose at him, she continued, "I’m getting older, and I can’t stand the sight of blood. So, out of the goodness of my heart, I’ll give you a few tens of thousands in child support. As for anything else, don’t even think about it!
"You three fell into my hands today. Consider yourselves unlucky. Don’t blame me; you can only blame Estelle for raising you to be so naive..."
As Mrs. York spoke, she prepared to viciously stab down with the silver needles.
But unexpectedly, a sudden, sharp pain flared in her thigh. "Ah!"
