Chapter 467: Chapter 467: Seaview Tower Has Been Seized

Estelle’s tone softened. "Sure, thank you, Godmother."

In the past, she used to envy Rose for celebrating Noelle’s birthdays. It would leave her depressed and disappointed, wondering what she had done wrong to make her own mother despise her so much that she wouldn’t even give her a single birthday.

After going abroad, she had always been sensitive about this. Mrs. Kendrick could tell and originally wanted to celebrate her birthday, but Estelle refused. After that, Mrs. Kendrick never brought it up again.

Her obsession with and fear of family had already been largely healed by the Kendricks. After returning to the country and learning that Rose wasn’t her biological mother, the last bit of her resentment had completely vanished.

So now she could face her own birthday head-on. Her godmother must have already prepared everything before bringing it up. Estelle was deeply moved. How fortunate she was to have an elder who cared about her at all times.

"Great! Godmother booked a banquet hall for you at Seaview Tower," Eleanor said, sounding delighted. "I also invited some friends."

"Okay, thank you." Estelle noted the time and location.

The birthday banquet was in the evening, and it was still morning, so there was plenty of time to prepare. Estelle already had gowns, jewelry, and stylists on hand, so attending the banquet wouldn’t be a hassle.

But two hours later, Eleanor called again. Her tone was icy and laced with anger. "Estelle, we’re not going to Seaview Tower anymore. I’ll go contact a new restaurant."

Estelle stood up and walked to the window with her phone. "What happened?"

Eleanor was so angry she laughed. "The deposit was paid, everything was negotiated, the guests were invited, and the decorations were all set up. But Seaview Tower suddenly told me they are no longer hosting me."

Eleanor had started preparing the venue for Estelle a week in advance, decorating it with many little stars.

Now that her birthday was fast approaching, Seaview Tower suddenly called to say they weren’t doing business with the Kendricks anymore?

What a joke!

A week ago, when Seaview Tower learned she was Mrs. Kendrick, they were as enthusiastic as could be. Now, a week later, when everything was ready, they suddenly flipped the script, claiming they didn’t welcome the Kendricks, nor did they welcome Estelle?

What a farce.

Today was Estelle’s birthday, and Mrs. Kendrick didn’t want to upset her. She forced a smile. "Alright, don’t worry about it. Godmother will go book another restaurant. It’ll be fine."

"Mrs. Kendrick."

Nathaniel Sloan had heard everything clearly from the side. He nodded. "The restaurant opposite Seaview Tower is owned by Aethel Group. I can book it for Estelle."

Eleanor’s eyes lit up. "That’s perfect! I’ll leave it to you then, Mr. Sloan. That restaurant is even better than Seaview Tower. Hmph, that’ll show them."

Nathaniel smiled faintly. "Estelle’s business is my business, so there’s no need to be polite. As for Seaview Tower... don’t be angry. Just leave it to me."

After hanging up, Nathaniel gently tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear, his tone gentle. "Alright now. Today is your birthday, so just be happy."

Two hours ago.

Claire gently bit her lip and gave Old Mrs. Yeats a completely distorted account of the Radiance incident, entirely twisting the truth.

Old Mrs. Yeats was instantly furious.

Claire then received a message from her "teacher," saying that Estelle would be holding her birthday banquet at Seaview Tower tonight.

On what grounds?!

She had been completely humiliated, yet Estelle still wanted to have a glamorous birthday celebration?!

"Grandma, Estelle..." Claire sighed. "Estelle is a member of the Yeats family, no matter what. Today is her birthday, but Grandpa and Quentin aren’t here. Even if we wanted to celebrate for her, it wouldn’t be appropriate with Grandpa absent. If word gets out, people might say she’s unfilial for not even inviting him to her birthday.

"I really don’t want to avoid celebrating her birthday; it’s entirely because the elders aren’t present...

"But Estelle... she actually got the Kendricks to host her birthday party. Does she think there’s no one left in the Yeats family? Where does her behavior put the Yeats?

"Doesn’t this just give outsiders an excuse to gossip behind our backs?"

Having finished, Claire shot a subtle glance at Old Mrs. Yeats and added deliberately lightly, "Grandma, don’t you agree?"

Old Mrs. Yeats’s eyes darted as she thought. "Seaview Tower?

"Perfect. I happen to have some connections with the boss of Seaview Tower."

The old lady suddenly smiled. "Claire, Grandma watched you grow up. That design thing you did abroad..."

"The XM Design Competition," Claire reminded with a smile.

"Right, right. You were the champion of the XM Design Competition, and Grandma hasn’t properly celebrated for you yet. Since I’m free today, I’ll go book the banquet hall at Seaview Tower. We’ll celebrate for you there tonight."

Suppressing her inner excitement, Claire said, "Thank you, Grandma."

Meanwhile.

Upon receiving Old Mrs. Yeats’s call and hearing that she wanted to rent a banquet hall, the management at Seaview Tower instantly forgot about their agreement with Mrs. Kendrick.

This was the Yeats family!

Mrs. Kendrick was merely the lady of the Kendrick family. Old Mrs. Yeats, on the other hand, was from the Yeats family—the wife of the former Family Head and the biological mother of the current Family Head.

Besides, if they could latch onto the Yeats family, what need was there to curry favor with the Kendricks?

Old Mrs. Yeats hung up the phone and smugly said to Claire, "Go get your styling done, Claire, and pick out a gown. Tonight, the entire high society of Crestfall will come to celebrate for you.

"And as for Estelle’s birthday, she won’t have a single guest."

Yes, Estelle had Nathaniel Sloan backing her, but would he really help her for the rest of her life? She understood how men were.

Moreover, at the end of the day, the Yeats family was Estelle’s maternal home. Could Estelle really sever ties with them?

Old Mrs. Yeats grew more enthusiastic the more she spoke. In her excitement, she didn’t even hear the sound of the door opening.

"Grandma, today is Estelle’s birthday, and you want to throw a celebration banquet for Claire?!"

Having finished dealing with matters in Capital City, Quentin rushed back to the Yeats Residence upon hearing the news immediately after arriving in Crestfall.

The Yeats family’s business had suddenly run into some problems, forcing Old Mr. Yeats and Quentin to return to Capital City to handle them. The current Family Head had even gone abroad because of this issue and was temporarily unable to return.

Things had finally stabilized a bit when Quentin heard about Old Mrs. Yeats stirring up trouble in Crestfall, prompting him to rush back.

The cooperation with Aethel Group, the stolen painting, the commotion at the racecourse, Radiance... Hearing about one incident after another gave Quentin a massive headache.

He even wanted to grab Old Mrs. Yeats and ask her if she was losing her mind.

Now, right after stepping into the villa, he heard Old Mrs. Yeats bellowing angrily.

"She’s Eleanor Yeats’s daughter, alright—completely shameless! What else does she know besides seducing men?! A birthday? Who does she think she is? A junior actually dares to step over me to throw a birthday banquet? Did I agree to this!

"As her elder, shouldn’t she have to ask my permission to hold such a birthday banquet? Having the Kendricks throw it for her? I forbid it!"

Quentin took a deep breath. "Have you ever thought about the fact that Estelle is the Yeats family’s eldest lady acknowledged by Grandpa? By holding a banquet for Claire at the exact same time as Estelle’s birthday party, you are slapping her in the face!"
