Joseph Lancaster glanced at Blair Williams expressionlessly and asked with a smile, "Brother, didn’t you ask sister-in-law to bring me a midnight snack?"

Daxton Lancaster also glanced at Blair Williams who was waiting before them. Just one look made Blair shiver unexpectedly, yet she had to keep a smiling face.

Feeling somewhat confused, wasn’t the Family Head clearly promising last night to reward me today? How did it turn into facing off against the Second Young Master?

If this is really the case, does it mean I need to testify later?

Blair Williams secretly observed the two brothers, her heart pounding hard, barely daring to breathe.

"Of course I know." Daxton raised his brow and said leisurely, "You manage so many businesses alone, I’m concerned for you, which is why I asked your sister-in-law to bring you a midnight snack."

"Since it was you, Brother, who asked Sister-in-law to come, why question it like this?" Joseph asked casually.

The brothers talked, confusing Blair Williams who was waiting for her reward.

Why are they conversing again? The Family Head and the Second Young Master shouldn’t have this much idle time, right?

"You should ask your servants about this." Daxton withdrew his gaze, sighing with apparent difficulty.

Joseph turned to Blair Williams, his smile disappearing, his usually gentle demeanor now unusually serious.

"Sister Blair, what’s going on? Why did you speak to Brother about this!"

Blair was stunned, unexpected that while the two brothers were chatting, they suddenly turned their attention to her. Meeting Joseph’s piercing eyes, she froze momentarily before quickly responding.

"Second Young Master, things are not as you think."

"You know what I’m thinking!" A man gentle as jade, when being assertive, is also intimidating.

At least Blair was frightened by Joseph’s serious demeanor.

Instinctively swallowing hard, she barely pulled a stiff smile, "Second Young Master, you sure know how to joke. I’m just a servant woman, how could I know what you’re thinking."

Daxton casually patted the sofa beside him, speaking indifferently, "Sister Blair, wasn’t this what you said last night when you visited my place."

Blair instinctively turned to Daxton, "Ah?"

"Last night you told me that Madam uses the pretext of delivering midnight snacks to the Second Young Master to sit in his room for half an hour daily before leaving, and keeps the door closed tightly, two single people alone for so long, any deed could be done in that time."

After Daxton indifferently finished stating this, he raised his piercing eyes to look at Blair, "If I remember correctly, you said that, right?"

Blair...

Gripped the seams on her pants tightly, nervously looking at Daxton, suddenly realizing something, she abruptly knelt down, begging for mercy.

"Family Head, I’m sorry, it’s all my wild speculation, mindlessly gossiping, Family Head, please forgive me, don’t mind a lowly, uneducated woman like me. I was wrong, I dare not do it again, Family Head, please spare me... my family is small, they’re counting on my earnings to supplement our household expenses..."

Eventually, Blair kept slapping herself on the face, her intestines twisted with regret, blaming her own greed for money, foolishly hoping for a reward, but instead offended the Family Head.

Daxton said nothing, his fair face cold as if covered in frost.

Even the Second Young Master who usually treated people kindly was the same, the two brothers looking at her coldly, showing no intention of stopping her.
