Chapter 975: The Ceremoeny
"So, what realm are you at now?" Yuan asked casually after congratulating her on her breakthrough.
"I was stuck at the Third Level of the Divine Warrior Realm. Now, I’ve reached the peak of the Divine Warrior Realm," she replied with a smile, satisfying Yuan’s curiosity by revealing her cultivation level.
"At my level, it’s difficult to advance even two minor realms without the aid of a precious treasure. Yet somehow, I managed to reach the peak. Perhaps it was because of the High-Grade Spirit Stones used in the arrays."
She looked at him and continued, "As you step into the higher realms of cultivation, advancing becomes increasingly difficult."
"Many cultivators remain trapped within a single realm for hundreds of years. Some even spend thousands of years advancing just one level."
"I understand what you mean, Miss Yuyan," Yuan replied with a small smile.
Shortly afterward, Anna Grace and the others emerged from the training room after ending their cultivation session.
"So, you were with Miss Long Yuyan. No wonder I couldn’t find you after opening my eyes," Anna Grace said with a smile.
Yuan looked at her and sensed the profound aura surrounding her. A smile immediately appeared on his face.
"Congratulations on becoming a Spirit King, Mom," he said warmly before pulling her into a light hug.
He then turned his attention toward his other wives and quickly noticed the significant improvements in their cultivation after spending an entire day cultivating within the arrays.
Emma had reached the Seventh Level of the Spirit Lord Realm, making her one of the strongest members of the group. As for Lily, she had reached the Eighth Level of the Spirit Lord Realm, remaining one step ahead of Emma.
Mireya and Sylvia had both advanced to the Fifth Level of the Spirit Lord Realm, making the rivalry between them even more intense.
Only time would tell who would ultimately pull ahead of the other.
Meanwhile, Rose had also reached the Seventh Level of the Spirit Lord Realm. Her sisters, Julie and Ava, had both advanced to the Fifth Level of the Spirit Lord Realm, placing them only two levels behind their elder sister.
Leah had once again surpassed Ava and Julie with her astonishing cultivation speed, reaching the Sixth Level of the Spirit Lord Realm, which even managed to surprise Yuan.
Of course, Yuan was happy to see her advance through so many levels in a single day.
After all, the stronger their cultivation became, the better their chances would be against the so-called Gods of the High Heaven.
At the same time, Valeria had stepped into the Second Level of the Spirit Lord Realm. As for her mother, Vanessa, she had reached the Peak of the Spirit Grandmaster Realm.
She was now only a single step away from entering the Spirit Lord Realm.
Miss Zara and Little Zoe progressed more slowly compared to Yuan’s wives. Even so, they still managed to reach the Fifth Level of the Spirit Grandmaster Realm.
As for Xi Meili, she had already reached the Third Level of the Spirit Emperor Realm. Fang Xiaoyan had also advanced into the First Level of the Spirit Emperor Realm.
Angela and Aisha had worked diligently as well, both reaching the Sixth Level of the Spirit Grandmaster Realm.
Vrasha’s cultivation speed was particularly impressive. She had advanced to the Second Level of the Spirit Grandmaster Realm, progressing noticeably faster than many of the others.
Kitsura hadn’t slacked off in the slightest either, successfully reaching the Peak of the Spirit Master Realm.
Nyx and Selvarial had both reached the Fifth Level of the Spirit Master Realm. Their remarkable talent once again surprised Yuan and the others with how quickly they advanced.
As for Isolde and Nerith, they had managed to reach the Fifth Level of the Spirit Master Realm despite only beginning their cultivation journey recently.
With everyone’s cultivation having increased significantly, they felt far more confident about facing the so-called gods of the High Heaven in the future.
"It’s already morning. Let’s have breakfast before the ceremony begins," Nerith suddenly said after remembering the event.
"I need to arrive at the memorial site on time since I’m responsible for bringing the bodies of the fallen soldiers. If I’m late, I’ll be in serious trouble."
Yuan nodded and followed her to the palace dining hall, where the maids immediately began serving breakfast upon their arrival.
Nerith suddenly stood up and said, "You all continue eating. I’m going to change into a different outfit."
"There’s no need to rush. Your brother and the others haven’t even left the capital yet, and it will take them at least two or three hours to reach the memorial site," Yuan said after noticing how eager she was to leave.
He then added, "With our speed, we’ll arrive there well before them. So just relax."
"Alright... I’ll trust you," she replied with a nod before continuing her meal.
Some time later, they gathered outside the palace wearing fresh clothes, ready to attend the grand ceremony honoring the fallen soldiers.
"Let’s head out at full speed! We have to get there before the royal family does!" Little Zoe exclaimed as she jumped onto her small flying sword and shot into the sky.
"Slow down, or you’re going to fall!" her mother, Miss Zara, shouted with a panicked expression before quickly chasing after her.
"Typical Little Zoe," Yuan chuckled softly before taking Nerith with him, as she still hadn’t learned how to fly on a sword.
Some time later, they arrived at the memorial site built for the fallen soldiers. It was a vast place beautifully decorated with countless flowers.
The site had been designed like a magnificent flower garden, a peaceful resting place where the fallen could sleep for eternity and become one with the earth.
"Should I begin setting up the arrays?" Long Yuyan asked Yuan.
"Sure. You can start immediately," Yuan replied with a smile.
He then retrieved a spatial ring from his system storage and handed it to her.
"The Spirit Stones are inside. We’ll activate the arrays once the ceremony is over."
Long Yuyan nodded and immediately began constructing the formations while Yuan and the others explored the memorial grounds.
A few hours later, the Royal Family of the Demonic Empire and the leaders of the other nations arrived at the site.
Their carriages were parked outside, and a long procession of people followed behind them, having come to bid a final farewell to their loved ones who had lost their lives in the war.
In addition to the families of the fallen, countless others had also come to pay their respects.
Some had known the soldiers personally, while others had never met them at all.
The people felt indebted to those who had sacrificed their lives to protect the continent, and they came to honor their courage and sacrifice.
Before long, the memorial grounds were filled with people, and the ceremony officially began.
Nerith separated from Yuan’s group and joined her family before looking at her brother with a serious expression.
"Is everything ready?" she asked.
"Everything is ready. You can bring them out so we can begin the ceremony," Emperor Rhex replied calmly.
Nerith nodded and immediately began retrieving the bodies of the fallen soldiers from her spatial ring. Beside her, Isolde did the same, as she too was carrying a large number of bodies within her own spatial ring.
The bodies of the fallen soldiers were carefully prepared for their final farewell. They were cleaned, dressed in fresh clothes, and made to look as though they were merely sleeping peacefully.
Soon, the memorial grounds were filled with sorrow and grief as family members reunited with their loved ones one final time.
Even those who had no personal connection to the fallen could feel the weight of the sadness hanging in the air, and many found it difficult to hold back their tears.
Despite the overwhelming grief, the ceremony continued, and eventually it was time for the burial after the fallen soldiers had been given the honor and respect they deserved for serving their people and nations.
Yuan and the others watched quietly from the sidelines as the ceremony proceeded without issue.
’Strange... I’m watching so many people cry, yet I feel nothing. I feel numb... Am I becoming numb to emotions?’ Yuan wondered as he looked at the grieving crowd.
He could hear the sobs and cries all around him, yet he found himself unable to feel the same sorrow. The feeling was strange, as though he had become desensitized to it.
’Perhaps I’ve witnessed too much death and taken too many lives. Maybe that’s why these feelings no longer affect me as they once did... I just hope I never become someone who has completely lost the ability to feel.’ He sighed inwardly.
Once the ceremony came to an end, Long Yuyan activated the formations, and within a few moments, they spread across the entire memorial grounds.
The moment the formations were activated, the people within the memorial grounds gradually felt their hearts calm, and the atmosphere became noticeably more peaceful.
"Hmm? What just happened? Why do I suddenly feel so relieved?" Emperor Rhex asked, raising an eyebrow in confusion.
"I think you’re imagining things. I don’t feel anything unusual," King Vargan replied with a low growl.
"This place feels much more peaceful all of a sudden... Almost as though it has been blessed," King Evander remarked thoughtfully.
"I feel it as well... It’s strange, yet comforting," Queen Lilith added, a curious expression appearing on her face.
Her gaze then shifted toward Yuan, and her eyes narrowed slightly as she observed him.
’Was it him? But how?’ she wondered inwardly, choosing not to voice her thoughts.
’Aside from him, I can’t think of anyone capable of doing something like this so casually...’
’It has to be him.’
