My Child and I Married a Billionaire
Chapter 480: Facing It Together
When the person you deeply love confesses their feelings, it’s easy to forget all the past pain.
Faye Fisher couldn’t resist throwing herself back into his arms.
“Are you serious? You only love me? You’ve never had feelings for anyone else? You really mean it?”
Wyatt Wynn held her with one arm and raised his other hand.
“I swear! If a single word I just said was a lie, may the Wynn Family be ruined from this moment on!”
“No! I believe you. You don’t have to make such a serious vow!”
Faye Fisher quickly covered his mouth with her hand.
“Hearing you say that is enough. I’ve waited so many years, and it wasn’t all for nothing.”
‘But even if I go back and confess to Brandon Jacobs, that’s my problem to deal with.’
‘I don’t want the man I love to be beaten, yelled at, or branded with disgusting labels. He could even end up being abandoned by everyone he knows.’
‘This whole mess is my fault to begin with.’
But Faye Fisher would never say any of this to Wyatt Wynn.
‘Because I love him, my heart aches for him. I’m just so hopelessly in love with him.’
Faye Fisher lovingly caressed Wyatt Wynn’s face and smiled again.
“You’re right. This is our first child, and as long as we both acknowledge it in our hearts, that’s enough. What do I have to be afraid of? I won’t rush things, then. I’ll wait until my body has recovered before we decide. But you don’t have to stay here with me. I don’t plan on being in Coalmont for long, and my parents are pretty strict. Even if you stayed, I wouldn’t have time to see you. So, you should head back first. We can talk things over in a few days when I’m back in Veridia.”
Faye Fisher was an incredible actress. She managed to coax Wyatt Wynn all the way out of the hospital.
Just then, her mother called. She told Wyatt Wynn she would take a cab home, explaining that it would be bad if her mother saw them together. Wyatt Wynn had no choice but to watch her go.
After placating her mother on the phone and guessing Wyatt Wynn was long gone, Faye Fisher headed back into the hospital.
“Doctor, please write me the prescription. I’ve decided to have a medical abortion.”
The doctor saw how young and beautiful she was, and how tall and handsome her partner was. She felt a pang of pity.
“Are you sure? You two have such good genes; the baby would be absolutely beautiful. Once you take the pills, there’s no going back.”
Any more of this and Faye Fisher’s heart would shatter. “I’m sure. Please, just write the prescription.”
The doctor prescribed her two days’ worth of pills, plus a suppository, which the doctor kept for later.
“Take one of these pills a day. Make sure to wait eight hours between doses. Don’t eat or drink anything for two hours before taking a pill. You shouldn’t have much of a reaction over the next two days. After that, come back to the hospital and see me, and I’ll administer the suppository. You’ll need to stay for observation for half a day. If all goes well, the embryo will be expelled within three to five hours. I’ll need to check that the abortion is complete before you can leave, just to prevent any future complications.”
She had explained everything very clearly. Faye Fisher thanked her.
“Thank you for your help, Doctor. Do you have a disposable cup? I’ll get some warm water and take the first pill now.”
The doctor was surprised she was in such a hurry.
‘Is that man really her boyfriend? Why is she in such a rush?’
‘But working in a hospital, you see all sorts of messy situations every day.’ Aside from feeling a sense of pity, the doctor had nothing more to say.
Faye Fisher got some water and swallowed the pill.
Just as she stepped out of the doctor’s office, a breeze swept through the hallway, and Wyatt Wynn came tearing back.
He had already gotten into a cab, planning to do as Faye had asked and head back to Veridia to wait for her. But as he sat in the car, he replayed her words in his mind and suddenly felt there was a hidden meaning behind them.
Wyatt Wynn was afraid she would do something behind his back, so he had rushed back in a panic.
‘Just as I thought. Faye is Faye. She never fails to worry me.’
“The… the pill? Did you already take it?”
Faye Fisher nodded and repeated the doctor’s instructions to him.
Now that it was done, there was no point in arguing. Wyatt Wynn could only give Faye Fisher an order.
“You’re not taking your health seriously. So for the sake of your own future, you’ll do exactly as I say from now on.”
“Faye, unless you want me to drop dead from anger, can you please stop fighting me on this?”
Faye Fisher’s first instinct was to argue.
But when she met Wyatt Wynn’s bloodshot eyes, he looked as if he might burst into tears if she refused. She had no choice but to agree.
“Fine. I’ll listen to you.”
Wyatt Wynn turned his head away and took a moment to compose himself.
“Give me your phone.”
Faye Fisher was startled.
‘Is he going to call Brandon Jacobs right now?’
“You…”
“What did you just promise me?”
Faye Fisher knew he didn’t have the best temper. If she truly pushed him too far, he was capable of anything. Worried, she handed over her phone.
Her password was her birth year and birthday, a habit of hers, so Wyatt Wynn unlocked it with ease.
But he didn’t call Brandon Jacobs. Instead, he called their old classmate, Joy.
“Sorry to trouble you, but can you drive over to Central Hospital and pick us up? I need to talk to you.”
While they waited for Joy, Wyatt Wynn silently led Faye Fisher to a small restaurant next to the hospital for breakfast.
When Joy arrived and saw them standing together holding hands, her eyes went wide, but she quickly broke into a knowing grin.
“Well, look at you two! Back together again? I knew it! All these years, both still single… you had to still have feelings for each other. Why else would Wynn suddenly pop up here in Coalmont? You two look perfect together. So easy on the eyes! Congratulations!”
Wyatt Wynn thanked her and had Faye Fisher get in the passenger seat while he took the back.
“We just got back together. I want to spend a couple of days alone with her, you know, make things right. But her mom’s pretty strict, and we don’t want to worry her. So, could you take Faye home, then come up with an excuse to get her away for two days?”
Joy joked, “I can do that, but what’s in it for me?”
Wyatt Wynn tried to win her over. “I’ll buy you a purse. How does that sound? How many do you want? What style? What brand? Just say the word.”
“That’s our generous Young Mr. Wynn for you! In that case, I won’t hold back.”
With Joy on the case, she easily came up with an excuse, and soon Faye Fisher emerged with a packed suitcase.
After some more playful banter, she dropped the couple off at Wyatt Wynn’s hotel.
Back in the room, Wyatt Wynn made Faye Fisher lie down and rest in bed. He then called the front desk to ask if they could prepare custom meals.
The front desk confirmed they could. He went downstairs, paid some additional fees, ordered several dishes from the kitchen, and then returned to the room.
Watching him rush around for her, Faye Fisher felt a wave of happiness.
“Do you ever wonder… if we hadn’t had that misunderstanding, would we be married by now? Maybe even have a kid running around?”
Wyatt Wynn gently patted her.
“We were both immature a few years ago. Being apart was actually for the best. These past few years gave us time to mature and figure things out. We know ourselves better now, and we know what we want.”
“I really like who I am now, and I really like who you are now. I couldn’t make any promises back then, but I can now. Faye, I promise we’ll be together forever.”
