Chapter 926

Anton waited for Paul, Eric, and their families to arrive that day. While he waited, he spent his time editing all the recordings that his Globe of Browser Sharing had captured during his journey.

He wanted to turn the footage into something entertaining by cutting out the uninteresting parts. The recordings included his ship’s arrival in Remuth, the view of the entire kingdom from the port, the view of the kingdom from the sky when he flew for a few seconds, his time inside a tavern asking patrons about the Traveler’s Haven organization, and his time acting as a minstrel in one of Remuth’s entertainment plazas.

The plaza itself was particularly interesting, as it featured various acts from different cultures that were uncommon in Ormunda. Finally, there was the footage of his kidnapping by the slavers and his subsequent rescue of everyone they had captured.

Even after all his editing, the video would still be at least four hours long. Anton decided to divide it into three parts, much like a movie trilogy.

After completing the work, Anton felt satisfied with the result.

It was already late afternoon when he finished editing. That was when Paul, Eric, and their families arrived at the cottage with all their belongings.

When Anton asked them if they were ready to return to Ormunda, he didn’t delay any longer. He clicked on his Tome of Town Portal in his inventory and used one of his town portal scrolls.

He set the portal in the living room.

Most of Paul and Eric’s family members, aside from their fathers, were extremely surprised when they saw the portal. Anton learned that most of them had assumed they would use the portal network established by the Ormundan wizards, with Anton simply paying the staggering ticket prices required to use it.

When one of Paul’s sisters asked about the portal, it was Eric’s father who explained that the portal scrolls came from Anton’s family. This meant Anton could use such an expensive artifact as many times as he wanted.

“The portal will lead to my room in my family’s Rose Manor. I set up my return point inside my room,” Anton told everyone.

Since more than eight people would be using the portal, they would have to travel through it twice.

When the first group arrived in Anton’s room at the Rose Manor, consisting of Paul and Eric’s mothers and siblings along with some of their belongings, they gaped at what they considered an extravagantly decorated bedroom.

Anton remembered that when he first purchased the manor, the decorations in the various rooms hadn’t been particularly extravagant. However, over time, Romina and Raymond had replaced almost everything inside the manor with the most expensive and luxurious items money could buy.

Anton simply didn’t care about such things and had left Romina and Raymond to their own devices.

Once everyone had arrived at the Rose Manor, Anton led them to the living room.

Since he hadn’t informed anyone of his arrival, the first servant he encountered was surprised to see him. Anton told the servant to inform Raymond that he had returned.

Afterward, he led everyone to the living room. Anton planned to leave everything to the family butler. Raymond was fully capable of handling everything that needed to be done regarding Paul and Eric.

When Raymond arrived, he was followed by several servants who invited Paul, Eric, and their families to one of the manor’s salons overlooking the garden so they could rest for a while.

Anton knew that once they settled in, the servants would serve them pastries and drinks. In the meantime, Anton and the family butler went to his office to discuss the situation with Raymond.

First, Raymond informed Anton that Anders was currently at his manor in Oakswood but was expected to return to the Rose Manor that evening to handle some of his work there.

The others were busy outside dealing with the family businesses, but they were also expected to return in the evening since Anders would be coming back.

Anton had started a tradition in which the family usually talked during dinner, something Raymond and some of the servants considered unusual. As a result, dinner was usually the time when everyone reported the current state of the family businesses to Anders.

Of course, their conversations weren’t detailed reports. They were merely brief exchanges of information. If Anders requested a detailed report, it would be presented in Anton’s father’s office.

Anton told the family butler about Paul and Eric’s assistance in figuring out the so-called rebirth process of the Izmortans. Because of this, they had given up their opportunity to become members of those organizations.

That meant that once they became the family’s retainers, they should receive the utmost care the family could provide to its employees.

Anton explained the details of what he had promised Paul, Eric, and their fathers. Raymond assured him that he knew what needed to be done.

That was what Anton liked about Raymond. He was an experienced butler who knew what needed to be done in almost every situation involving the family.

After his conversation with Raymond, the butler left to prepare the rooms that Paul, Eric, and their families would use. Anton then went to the salon where they were staying.

He found all of them enjoying the pastries the servants had served while listening to a few family bards playing musical instruments in the corner.

Anton was surprised by the presence of the bards. He realized that the family had truly become wealthy if they could afford several bard retainers.

The garden was especially beautiful in the light of twilight, and Paul and Eric’s families were captivated by the enchanting flowers that released intoxicating scents.

When Anton arrived, he told them that he needed to speak with them.

Since the women weren’t interested in listening to what was supposedly the men’s business, they asked permission to explore the garden. Anton told them they could, but he asked some of the servants to accompany them so they would have someone to assist them if they needed anything.

“Your manor is the most beautiful I’ve ever seen,” Eric said.

Paul teased his cousin. “It’s the only manor you’ve ever seen from the inside.”

“Raymond, the older man you met before, is the family butler. He’s preparing several rooms that your families can use. Later, my father will arrive, and he’ll need to speak with you about what you want to do as our retainers,” Anton told Paul and Eric’s fathers. “Of course, Paul and Eric will need an education first, including the wizardry training I promised them. Regarding your trades, my father and Romina will ask what you want to do and will fulfill your requests.”

He also recommended that they remain at the Rose Manor instead of staying somewhere else. It would be better for Paul and Eric to remain close to their families while receiving their education.

“Are you the one who’s going to teach us wizardry?” Paul asked.

Anton rolled his eyes, causing Paul to blush in embarrassment at his faux pas.

“Of course not. I’ll be busy in Izmorta. You’ll be taught by the wizards who taught magic to the family’s wizards,” Anton continued.

He also told them that, more than likely, tailors and seamstresses would arrive by the following day to provide them with new clothing.

Of course, it remained unspoken that they would need clothing that met the standards expected of the family’s retainers.

After Anton finished speaking with Paul, Eric, and their fathers, Raymond arrived to inform them that their rooms were ready.

Anton could see that every member of Paul and Eric’s families was overwhelmed. He thought it would be best to allow them to rest in their rooms for a while before dinner and their meeting with Anton’s father.
