Chapter 927

Raymond, the family butler, told Anton that he had placed Paul, Eric, and their families in one of the larger suites in the manor. The suite consisted of several bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, and a large sitting room at the center where the family could gather and talk.

The butler had also assigned servants to attend to them during their stay. At the very least, this would allow them to have a meeting in their suite to discuss what they wanted to do as retainers of the Sunder family.

Raymond subtly informed Anton that the treatment Paul, Eric, and their families were receiving was usually reserved for members of the family or high-ranking guests, not retainers.

Anton told Raymond that, even though he had already paid Paul and Eric for what they had done for him, he still felt that he owed them something for essentially forcing them to return to Ormunda.

It didn’t matter that neither Paul nor Eric had been truly interested in becoming members of one of the magical organizations in Izmorta and had merely been following what their fathers wanted them to do.

Still, Anton assured Raymond that once Paul, Eric, and their fathers had spoken with Anders and decided what roles they would take as retainers, Raymond could assign them more appropriate rooms in the manor.

There was also a chance that both families would decide to live somewhere outside the manor. If that happened, the family would simply purchase houses for them.

However, judging from the reactions of Paul and Eric’s fathers’ wives and daughters, there was also a good chance they would choose to remain in the manor.

Any commoner sometimes dreamed of living like a noble in a beautiful manor, and Rose Manor was one of the most beautiful manors in Ormunda, especially in the eyes of young girls.

Living like beautiful nobles or princesses was probably something they had started imagining the moment they learned that Paul and Eric would be working for the Sunder family.

“It really doesn’t matter to me. If they want to keep living in the suite, and no one else is using it, then just let them have it. I never really cared about something as insignificant as where my guests sleep inside my manor,” Anton told Raymond.

He thought that, at the very least, having more children in the manor—the siblings of Paul and Eric—would give Alfred and Anton’s two stepbrothers more playmates.

By evening, Anton’s father returned to the Rose Manor, accompanied by his new wife and stepsons.

Anders was surprised to see Anton back at the Rose Manor, since Anton had previously told them that it would probably be a while before he could return home.

Anton talked with his father in his office and told him about the agreement he had made with Paul, Eric, and their families.

Once Anders understood the situation, he did what Anton had done and left the responsibility of dealing with them to either Raymond or Romina.

While Anton was talking with his father, Raymond informed them that the rest of the family had also returned to the manor.

Anders asked Raymond to summon Romina since she needed to be informed about the situation involving Paul, Eric, and their families.

After they informed Romina of the situation, they still needed to know what decisions Paul and Eric’s fathers would make regarding their roles as retainers of the Sunder family.

After a few minutes of discussion, Paul and Eric’s fathers decided to continue with their original trades as a tailor and a blacksmith.

Romina told the two middle-aged men that the best thing they could do was attach the businesses they planned to establish to the Sunder family’s cosplay business.

What this meant was that most of the products they created would be geared toward making costumes.

Paul and Eric knew what cosplay was because the ship had hosted such an event, but they asked whether a business centered around cosplay could really last.

Romina told them that the growth potential of cosplay was enormous.

The cosplay convention the family was hosting was now held once a month, and the businesses associated with the convention were earning tremendous amounts of money during each event.

The convention lasted for several days, and every day it was filled with people who came from different parts of Ormunda. There were even visitors from other kingdoms who traveled to Ormunda simply to participate in the cosplay convention.

Romina theorized that, after a while, they would have to host the cosplay convention twice a month to accommodate more businesses that wanted to become part of it.

Romina also pointed out that as long as the movies remained popular, cosplay would continue to thrive. The family had never even imagined that movies would lose their popularity.

Anton was surprised to learn that the family had already opened another cinema at a second location in Ormunda and was planning to open a third one somewhere else in the kingdom.

Aside from the movies and cosplay businesses, the fashion magazine could also use a blacksmith and a tailor for some of the clothing designs that had already been created by its designers.

Romina told Paul and Eric’s fathers that, in truth, they had already employed many tailors, seamstresses, and blacksmiths. However, they didn’t have to worry about competition for work because the family would always welcome a few more experienced craftsmen.

Anton also learned that a second branch of the fashion magazine was planned to open in another part of the kingdom.

He shook his head at the growth of the family businesses.

Even Bruce, Susan, and the old man Normandy had been forced to give up their original jobs and assist the family with some of its businesses.

Bruce and Susan would handle the second cinema, while Normandy and Iris, Romina’s maid, would be responsible for the third.

Romina was also grooming Luna to manage the fashion magazine’s branch office. With the help of Kirk and numerous assistants, she should be able to handle it without any problems.

In truth, Anton was flabbergasted by the business empire his family was building. He could also see that Anders was fully aware of everything and had approved of their expansion.

With everything that was happening, Anton felt comforted by the fact that his family had become financially stable.

That meant he could focus on his personal goals without worrying about the family.

By the time Romina and Anders had finished explaining everything about the family businesses to Paul and Eric’s fathers, the two men’s eyes were practically filled with stars, and a spark of ambition had appeared within them.

Suddenly becoming part of something so great allowed them to envision a future filled with wealth and influence.

Paul and Eric’s fathers agreed to join the family businesses as one of its tailors and blacksmiths.

The fact that their sons would be groomed by the family to eventually manage some of the businesses the family planned to establish in other kingdoms meant that their family’s future was now something they could look forward to.

They decided to remain in the manor, and Anton allowed them to continue staying in the suite Raymond had initially assigned to them.

He reminded them that the following day, tailors and seamstresses would arrive to take everyone’s measurements so they could be provided with more appropriate clothing for life in the manor.

The servants would also take them shopping for the things they needed.

Paul and Eric’s fathers understood that most of their belongings would be replaced with items that wouldn’t embarrass the Sunder family. The fact that they wouldn’t have to spend a single coin meant that, for the first time in their lives, every member of their family could indulge themselves without worrying about the cost.

Anton was glad that he had finally settled his debt with Paul and Eric.

He could now return to Izmorta and continue with his plans.

During dinner, Anders officially welcomed Paul and Eric’s families as family retainers. For the rest of the night, the celebration became increasingly grand.

The fact that Sonya had become close to Paul and Eric’s mothers delighted them.

Something like that wasn’t particularly surprising. Sonya had also been an ordinary farmwife before she married Anton’s father.

As a matter of fact, the only true noble in the family was Romina.

Everyone else had come from humble backgrounds.
