Chapter 374: Fruitful Comprehension

The main issue was that the Sect Leader of the Cloud Mist Sect had a weak physical body and was relying solely on his Cultivation to hold on.

Therefore, if he took even a single Thunderbolt, death was inevitable.

Chu Feng didn’t dwell on it. He sat down cross-legged in the crater, closed his eyes, and began to feel the changes in the surrounding aura.

The lingering aftermath of the Thunder Tribulation still hung in the air, which was a tremendous help to Chu Feng.

He could use this opportunity to deepen his understanding. It was a rare stroke of fortune.

Just like that, Chu Feng sat alone in the crater for several days straight.

During this time, no bird or beast dared to come near.

On the fifth day, Chu Feng’s eyes suddenly snapped open.

In that instant, two bolts of lightning seemed to flash within his eyes, emitting a terrifying aura.

"What a powerful aura!" Chu Feng was astonished as he felt this new power.

He had only been in seclusion for five days, but the benefits he gained were immense.

He could feel his realm was on the verge of another breakthrough. Soon, he would reach the late stage of the Core Formation Realm.

At that point, he would be one step closer to Crossing the Tribulation.

He just needed to wait patiently; when the time was right, everything would fall into place.

This enormous gain filled Chu Feng with joy and excitement.

This trip had not been in vain. Experiencing the intense aura fluctuations of the Celestial Tribulation would be a tremendous help when he eventually had to face his own.

"To think the site of a Celestial Tribulation contains such terrifying power," Chu Feng murmured. "Just a few days here are comparable to several months of my previous Cultivation. Both my physical body and my Primordial Spirit have been strengthened!"

’Alright, it’s been over a week. Time to head back.’ Chu Feng got to his feet and departed.

Chu Feng strode across the waves and found the yacht that had been waiting for him for more than a week. He then took it back to Nanhai City.

After returning to the city, Chu Feng planned to wash up and stay at the hotel Jiang Tao had arranged.

In the hotel, he called Bai Han.

"The selection trials are over, right?" Chu Feng asked.

"Yes, they’re over," Bai Han said. "Besides your wife, the other two both advanced smoothly."

"Why didn’t my wife make it through? What happened?" Chu Feng asked, curious.

"I don’t know the details. You should ask your wife yourself when you get back," Bai Han said. "Where have you been all this time? Do you have any idea how worried Master was? When are you returning? The second round of the competition is about to start."

"I should be back at Big Snow Plateau today," Chu Feng said. "Why? Does someone have a problem with it?"

"Of course, some people have their opinions, but with Master around, they don’t dare say much," Bai Han replied. "The Seven Kills Sword Master, on the other hand, is urging you to hurry back so you don’t break the rules."

"Okay, I get it." Chu Feng hung up. After washing up, he took a car to the airport.

He then took a private jet back to Great Snow Mountain, and the journey was uneventful.

Jiang Tao had also come this time. However, he was staying put with Wang Hong and not wandering about. You couldn’t just run around freely during the competition; the consequences were severe.

After arriving at Great Snow Mountain, he finally saw Su Miaoke.

The moment Su Miaoke saw Chu Feng, she threw her arms around him.

"Honey, where have you been? That competition was terrifying! We almost died. If Senior Sister Bai Han hadn’t arrived in time, we would’ve been finished," Su Miaoke said, her face pale with lingering fear.

The memory had clearly left a scar; she didn’t think she would ever dare to participate in such a competition again.

Chu Feng took a look. The incident hadn’t triggered the Divine Soul Mark he’d placed on Su Miaoke, which meant she had never been in true, life-threatening danger.

"And you were so insistent on going before, weren’t you?" Chu Feng said with a smile.

"Hmph, you can talk," Su Miaoke said, exasperated. "You have no idea how many people died. I just don’t understand them. It’s not easy for any of us to cultivate, yet those guys start slaughtering people at the drop of a hat. They don’t treat human life as if it means anything."

"This is the way of the Martial Cultivation Realm. Only by surviving bloody conflict can you become stronger. That’s the fundamental nature of this world. Do you think that just because our daily lives are peaceful, the world itself is truly at peace?"

"It’s only because many people are silently making sacrifices in places we cannot see. Their protection is what grants us our current stable and comfortable lives. It’s for the best that you don’t participate in any more competitions."

"The further you advance, the more brutal the competitions become," Chu Feng said.

Su Miaoke nodded, then asked, "Honey, where were you these past few days?"

"I went out to take care of some business," Chu Feng said.

"By the way, Brother Jiang is here too. Should we go see him?" Chu Feng asked.

"Okay." He then made a call.

"Brother Chu," came Jiang Tao’s helpless voice, "I’m being held up over here at the Western Celestial King’s location. His soldiers won’t let me leave."
