My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building

Chapter 471: Little Overlord

Chu Yunfeng was already aware of everything; he had known for a long time that his son was a Martial Cultivator.

So, none of this came as a surprise to him.

He knew Chu Feng was always out and about, working on his Cultivation.

By now, Su Miaoke had also woken up. Chu Feng’s mother had finished cooking, and the family sat together, enjoying the happy and harmonious atmosphere.

“I haven’t had Mom’s cooking in over a month. I’ve really missed it,” Chu Feng said with a smile.

His mother’s cooking was authentic Hunan-style—fragrant and spicy. The food was delicious, went perfectly with rice, and was a feast for all the senses.

“Are these little fish from the river? They’re delicious.” Su Miaoke really liked the chili-fried fish.

“Yes, we caught them in the reservoir. If you like them, please have some more,” Chu Feng’s mother said with a smile.

The reservoir wasn’t far from the village, so the family had practically grown up eating fish from it.

“Sigh… I’m afraid we won’t be able to eat fish like this from the reservoir anymore. We’ll have to buy it from now on,” Chu Yunfeng said with a sigh.

“Why?” Chu Feng asked.

“Someone leased the reservoir, supposedly to farm fish. But I don’t know if they’re using too much feed or what, because the water quality has gotten much worse, and the fish don’t taste right anymore,” Chu Yunfeng said.

“Huh? When did this happen?” Chu Feng asked in surprise.

“Just recently. The water quality is about as bad as it can get, and people keep finding dead fish in the reservoir. The whole village is talking about it,” Chu Yunfeng said.

“Who the hell would do something like that? Aren’t we supposed to be answering the nation’s call for ‘green waters and lush mountains’? Who dares to pull this kind of stunt?” Chu Feng asked, annoyed.

“It’s that Little Overlord from town, Hei Tian. Someone tried to talk to him about it, but he wouldn’t listen and even threatened to beat them up,” Chu Yunfeng said.

“Alright, I’ll go look for him after we finish eating,” Chu Feng said.

Chu Feng knew of this Little Overlord. They had gone to middle school together.

The guy had been a delinquent back in middle school—ignorant and uneducated, always hanging around with shady characters and bullying other students.

He dropped out before even finishing middle school to fool around. Later, banking on his family’s influence in town, he slowly established himself as a “Little Overlord.” Normally, no one dared to cross him; even when they were furious, they could only swallow their anger.

There was nothing to be done. The guy had power and connections. Anyone who tried to stand up to him in this town was bound to lose out, especially since he was a shameless local hooligan.

Besides, the guy had already done time in prison a few times, getting out after just a few years each time.

“Xiao Feng, just let it go,” his mother said, worried. “That guy is incredibly arrogant these days, and he has people working for him. Someone went to reason with him before and got a beating for it. They even had to pay their own medical bills.”

She didn’t want her son to get involved in such a messy situation, worried that he would get hurt.

“Don’t worry, Mom. I’m just going to check it out. Besides, we were classmates. He should show me some respect,” Chu Feng said.

The reservoir was vital to the entire village’s water supply; there was no way Chu Feng could just let this go.

Su Miaoke remained silent. She knew Chu Feng’s temper well; once he got fired up, no one could stop him, so she didn’t even try.

‘With Chu Feng’s current power and status, why would he be afraid of some petty thug?’

“By the way, are they at the reservoir or in town?” Chu Feng asked his father.

“They should be by the reservoir. They recently built a few houses on the shore, probably planning to live there. I heard they’re planning to start some kind of agritourism business, like a rural resort,” Chu Yunfeng said.

“Got it.” Chu Feng nodded, grabbed his keys, and walked out the door.

Chu Yunfeng, however, wasn’t worried. He knew his son was a Martial Cultivator with the Chu Family’s backing; ordinary people wouldn’t dare to provoke him.

“Xiao Feng, please don’t get into a fight! Just talk to him nicely,” his mother called out, full of worry.

She was afraid that if Chu Feng got into a conflict, he would be the one to get hurt.

“Don’t worry, Mom. I’ll be fine,” Chu Feng said with a smile.

Soon, he was driving toward the reservoir. It wasn’t far, only a few minutes away by car.

When Chu Feng arrived, he parked the car and heard a racket coming from some small, low-built houses nearby.

He walked closer and saw a group of guys inside, drinking and shouting.

The man sitting at the head of the group was shirtless and covered in tattoos. This had to be the Little Overlord, Hei Tian. He looked like real trouble.

The man had a short buzz cut, revealing numerous scars on his head—remnants of past brawls from his days of running wild.

In fact, speaking of relations, Chu Feng was actually very distantly related to Hei Tian’s family.

The Little Overlord Hei Tian’s parents were there as well, but the two of them were just squatting by the doorway, eating their meal.

Although he was known as a townie now, he had actually moved there from Fuhe Village a long time ago.

His family used to be wealthy and had bought a house right in town. But later, because the Little Overlord Hei Tian was always causing trouble, the once-prosperous family had fallen on hard times.
