My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building
Chapter 472: 2 Slaps
Little Overlord Hei Tian had also been to jail a few times, so his family was quite poor.
Had things gone differently, he’d probably be living in a luxury villa by now—the kind you don’t have to pay for.
His parents were squatting at the doorway eating their meal, a pitifully shabby sight that left one with a bad feeling.
“Uncle, Auntie,” Chu Feng called out to the two elders at the door.
“Is… is that Xiao Feng?” Hei Tian’s father asked, looking at Chu Feng in surprise.
“Yes, it’s me, Chu Feng. I brought some gifts for you. I’ll just leave them here for now. I need to talk to Hei Tian,” Chu Feng said.
“He’s inside, drinking with that pack of good-for-nothing friends,” said Hei Tian’s father.
“Is… is that my Brother Feng? What are you doing here? Quick, come have a drink! Someone grab him a bowl and chopsticks!” Hei Tian was surprised to see Chu Feng, but he was still being reasonably polite.
After all, they had played together as kids, and back then, he had been quite afraid of Chu Feng. When Chu Feng got into a fight, he fought like a man possessed.
Then, the group made space for Chu Feng to sit and brought him a bowl and a pair of chopsticks.
“I just ate,” Chu Feng said.
“Brother Feng, I heard you’ve made it big. Built a villa for everyone in the village and even married a beautiful wife. Not bad at all. I wasn’t out yet during your wedding, but I heard all about it. It was incredibly grand, even made the news. Come, come, let’s toast to you!” Little Overlord Hei Tian said with a smile, raising his cup.
His eyes were full of envy, hoping Chu Feng might let him in on the wealth.
It wasn’t just him; everyone else present turned to look as well.
The people of Fuhe Village might not have said much, but everyone saw the changes with their own eyes. In just a few short months, the old, dilapidated houses had been replaced by grand, luxurious villas.
Who wouldn’t be envious of that?
Besides, news travels fast. Fuhe Village might be remote and rarely have visitors, but it was impossible to keep something like this completely under wraps.
After all, trucks carrying various building materials and numerous construction crews were constantly passing through town. Anyone who asked around would find out.
“Right. We’ll drink later. There’s something I need to talk to you about first. Did you threaten the reservoir owner and force him to transfer it to you? And what’s this about you raising fish here and muddying up the water?” Chu Feng asked.
“Brother Feng, it’s not like I robbed him. This is all above board, I have a contract and everything. I’m leasing it for five thousand yuan a year. It’s not like I’m not paying,” Little Overlord Hei Tian said.
“Five thousand yuan for a reservoir this huge? How shameless can you be? And even if you leased it, how did you let the water get into this state? You’re going to have to give me an explanation for this, right?” Chu Feng demanded.
“Brother Feng, I leased the reservoir to raise fish, what else? And if you’re raising fish, you have to use feed. How else are they supposed to grow? Brother Feng, no offense, but while you’ve made your money and married a beautiful wife, I also need to make a living and support my family,” said Little Overlord Hei Tian.
“I don’t care how much you paid. I heard you used threats. You need to go apologize to him. On top of that, you have to solve this water pollution problem!” Chu Feng said bluntly.
“Whoa, did everyone hear that? How interesting. Chu Feng, I call you Brother Feng out of respect, and you’re really starting to think you’re a big shot, huh? Getting all high and mighty. If you’re going to drink, then sit down and shut up. If not, then get the hell out,” Little Overlord Hei Tian said.
“You’re so used to being an arrogant thug, you think you’re still running the streets? I don’t care how you act elsewhere, but I won’t allow you to be this brazen in my village. I’ll ask you one last time: are you going to do what I told you or not?” Chu Feng said.
However, the moment Chu Feng finished speaking, Little Overlord Hei Tian exploded in rage.
“Son of a bitch!” As expected of an ex-con, the guy had a short fuse. That, combined with the alcohol he’d been drinking, likely went straight to his head.
He hurled the cup in his hand directly at Chu Feng.
Things had already reached this point. Chu Feng saw no reason to be polite anymore. If the other party wasn’t willing to talk things out, then there was nothing left to say.
With a simple flick of his finger, he sent the cup flying. Then, in a single stride, he was standing directly in front of Little Overlord Hei Tian.
SLAP! SLAP!
He delivered two sharp slaps, sending the man reeling, completely dazed.
“Still feeling arrogant?” Chu Feng said. “I don’t care what you do outside, but if you dare cause trouble in this village, I won’t let you off. Do as I said: go apologize and put a stop to this operation here.”
Little Overlord Hei Tian was initially stunned by the slaps. But when he came to his senses, his eyes were bloodshot with rage.
He had an explosive temper and couldn’t stand being humiliated. How could he swallow the insult of being slapped twice in front of so many people?
The thug snatched up a nearby club and swung it viciously at Chu Feng’s head.
