Chapter 502

The way the beast fell was like when two bags of rice were slammed into the ground.

The impact caused the earth to vibrate for a second—drawing the attention of all the Ogres in the immediate vicinity.

Looking to his left, Ray subtly shook his head.

’Not enough.’

The other Ogres who had gone farther away hadn’t heard the impact. Only those in his immediate location, numbering around sixty or so, had been drawn to the commotion.

Then, his ears twitched.

Ray slowly turned his head behind him to look towards the café.

The beast he had sent flying with a kick—the same one that had destroyed his food—was rising back up.

’Hmph.’

Then—

The Ogres wasted no time charging towards the boy.

They all swarmed his location with tremendous speed.

Dozens of King-rank beasts wielding dangerous weapons were heading towards one single human.

Holding his hand in the air slightly, Ray let go of his dagger and watched it vanish into his System.

Dragging one leg behind his body, he leaned forward with his hands slightly raised to his sides.

His eyes crackled with lightning as he watched the beasts almost reach his location.

Then, purple lightning began arcing around his hands, with his daggers materialising in his grasp.

At the same time—

KA-BANG—!

Ray didn’t wait for the beasts to reach him. Instead, he went charging towards them with lightning speed.

Shooting forward, an axe descended towards him with tremendous speed.

Ray spun around on his heels, watching as the axe slammed into the concrete earth with destructive force.

Kicking off the ground, he swung his daggers several times, watching as blue lightning tore forward in slashes.

Tchaaak! Tchaaak! Tchaaak!

The slashes ripped into the Ogre, arcs of electricity coursing through its entire being and almost lighting the beast up.

Landing on the ground—

A dozen massive feet came stomping towards his head.

Yet Ray darted between those legs, his daggers slicing through the air and colliding with them.

They tore a few inches into the flesh of the beasts.

But that was more than enough for him.

Launching himself backward, a club crashed into the spot where he had stood a second ago.

As dust billowed into the air, Ray spun around with his dagger raised in front of him just in the nick of time.

CLANG!

A massive sword slammed into his daggers.

Ray’s hands trembled for several moments—his bones rattling as he gritted his teeth while digging his toes into the ground to anchor himself.

Pushing his hands away, he forced the sword away from him for a second.

Lightning instantly bloomed all across his arm, coalescing around his hand, which he thrust forward, sending a dozen sparks shooting towards the beast.

BANG!

As the lightning struck the beast, it lit up like a beacon of electrifying light, causing it to growl loudly in intense pain.

Sensing the other beasts who had all gone far away, Ray could feel them pause as the beacon of light drew their attention.

Soon, they would begin coming towards him.

Which was exactly what he wanted.

THUD! THUD! THUD!

The sound of heavy footsteps coming from behind him was heard.

The food destroyer was on his way, a furious glint burning in his eyes.

Holding one hand to the side, the obsidian dagger vanished from view.

Ray’s eyes remained fixed on the beasts in front of him, who were quite afraid to take a step forward after watching their comrade light up with lightning.

Soon, a spear of lightning could be seen crackling around his hand, which he hurled forward without thinking twice.

The spear cut through the air with a loud whistle, tore through the temple of a beast, and burst out the other side.

Bolting forward without thinking twice, his second dagger materialised back into his grasp as he dove into the midst of the beasts.

Steel flashed through the air, sparks crackling across the bodies of these beasts.

Ray danced like a furious warrior of lightning and steel.

A slash carved across an arm, followed by an arc that swept across the beast’s body, and then a kick that propelled him into the air—long enough for him to send his lightning-charged dagger hurtling straight into another Ogre’s chest.

Ray was a total menace on the battlefield.

A monster among monsters.

Sending the dagger back into his system, Ray landed on the ground just as he felt a club whistling toward him from behind.

Vaulting into the air, he watched as the club collided with a second Ogre’s shield, producing a loud metallic ringing that echoed across the area.

The food destroyer.

Flipping through the air a few times, Ray landed behind the beast—barely a metre away.

The Ogre immediately spun around, a furious glint burning in its eyes.

Without hesitation, it charged forward with tremendous speed.

Ray simply watched it approach.

Calm.

Unbothered.

Sending his daggers back into his system, he flexed his muscles, causing them to bulge beneath the fabric of his exo-suit.

In a few seconds, the Ogre’s club was inches away from Ray’s head.

The boy cocked his hand backward before sending it shooting forward like a bullet.

His knuckle collided with the club.

BANG!

The weapon shattered into countless splinters.

The impact stunned the beast for a moment.

"Every credit those food cost, I worked for it, bastard!"

With a backhanded wave, Ray slapped the beast backward.

It almost blasted away completely—only for a golden lasso to suddenly wrap around its waist.

"Come over here. I ain’t done with you yet."

Yanking the beast toward him, Ray immediately sent his fists blurring forward.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The moment the Ogre was dragged within range, Ray unleashed a flurry of punches that crashed into its body one after another.

The beast was about to retaliate with a punch of its own, but the Tribrid ducked beneath it before driving an uppercut straight into its jaws.

The Ogre’s feet were beginning to lift off the ground when Ray vaulted into the air and brought his clasped hands crashing down onto its head.

BAM!

The force knocked the beast back toward the ground.

Ray landed smoothly a few metres away, his eyes remaining fixed on the battered Ogre as he noticed backup rushing toward him.

"I won’t kill you so easily. You will have to cough up blood for every penny wasted," Ray uttered.
