My Tribrid System: More than a Monster
Chapter 574: Brutal Spar!
Chapter 572
In an incredibly wide field devoid of grass or plants, nothing could be seen except soil and massive footprints etched into the earth.
And across this field, several towering Aberrants could be seen training.
Most of them were Three-Spined and Four-Spined Aberrants, sparring with one another.
Their towering forms intertwined in a beautiful dance of destruction as they fought with everything they had.
They were wild and erratic, like animals in the wilderness, yet every punch they threw carried enough force to send out a miniature shockwave.
There were about a dozen of them training on the field.
Even with their massive frames and towering bodies, there was still enough space for them to move around freely.
Aside from growing stronger, the more powerful Aberrants, particularly the Three and Four-Spines, all sought one thing on this planet beyond eliminating humanity and proving themselves the superior race.
They wanted a seat at the square table and to become part of the Big Five.
The Aberrants valued strength above everything else, which was why they constantly sought out stronger opponents, whether human or Aberrant.
They would never tolerate any form of weakness in their leadership.
That was why anyone who believed they were strong enough could challenge a member of the Big Five for their seat once a month.
If they won the duel, they would earn a place at the table.
And if they lost?
...Well, they would die.
The Big Five would never take such a challenge lightly, especially when it came to what they considered an act of disrespect.
Nobody, absolutely nobody, dared to challenge Yakz.
He stood at the pinnacle of their race, and anyone who even considered challenging him would meet their end sooner rather than later.
That was why those who believed themselves worthy of a seat usually set their sights on Colossus or Splicer instead.
But today, Yakz himself could be seen walking towards the training field.
His tail swayed from side to side in a controlled rhythm.
His hands remained tucked into his pants pockets as the wind swept through his golden hair, his eyes fixed on the Aberrants sparring ahead.
The moment he came into full view, every Aberrant on the field halted.
Fists froze midair as all their heads turned towards him.
Soon, Yakz came to a stop, his expression barely changing.
"I’m putting my seat up for grabs. Come on, all of you. Attack me at once with everything you’ve got. Whoever wins gets my seat."
The Aberrants immediately straightened, their eyebrows rising as they stared at the Seven-Spined Aberrant.
Then, one of the Four-Spines bared its teeth in a grin.
"Rules?"
"Get my back on the ground or draw my blood. Even if it’s just a speck."
And if there was one thing these creatures loved, it was a good challenge.
Instantly, they all shifted into battle-ready stances, their claws sliding into place.
Compared to these towering creatures, Yakz looked short. The same could be said of the other members of the Big Five.
They were all shorter than the rest of their kind.
Yet Yakz didn’t even bother removing his hands from his pockets as the twelve Aberrants, a mixture of Three and Four-Spines, rushed towards him with astonishing agility.
Yakz waited.
His eyes weren’t even fixed on them. Instead, it was as though he were staring at the empty space between them.
An image flashed through his mind.
The first Aberrant reached him, its tail hurtling towards the Seven-Spined with incredible speed.
Just a second before it could crash into him, Yakz lifted one hand and seized the tail out of the air, stopping its momentum without so much as shifting his stance.
Dust billowed around him, whipping his golden hair in the wind.
His muscles seemed to bulge for a moment as he yanked the Aberrant forward before planting his foot into its face with all his might.
No mercy. No holding back.
Its entire head was blasted clean off its neck.
Yakz released the tail and watched the headless body fly away.
He immediately ducked beneath a heavy foot hurtling towards his body.
With a twist of his hips, Yakz pushed off the ground, his hands still tucked into his pockets as his legs whipped forward and smashed into the Aberrant’s thighs.
BANG!
The bones shattered, and the creature crumpled onto one knee.
The moment Yakz landed, a punch descended from above, forcing him to tilt his head to the side.
The fist flew past his face, its gust of wind brushing against his skin before the knuckles collided with the earth beside him.
Chunks of earth flew into the air.
Yakz remained unfazed. He smoothly pulled one hand out of his pocket and wrapped it around the Four-Spined Aberrant’s arm. Then, with a twist of his body, he slammed the towering creature into the ground.
A massive crater, twenty metres wide, spread across the earth as a blanket of dust rose into the air.
Moving from side to side, Yakz began dodging a flurry of attacks coming his way.
He ducked and twisted, watching claws and fists slice through the air around him.
He wasn’t seeing them.
He wasn’t even looking at them.
Instead, an image of Ray kept flashing through his mind, gradually replacing the Aberrants standing before him.
An uppercut hurtled towards his face, forcing Yakz to lean his entire body backwards. The fist swept past his head, missing by a hair’s breadth.
Still leaning backwards, he twisted his hips and shifted his feet, spinning around to position himself beside the creature before driving a kick into its side.
CRACK!
A gaping hole ripped through the Aberrant’s side, and blue blood sprayed into the air.
The impact lifted the creature off its feet, sending it hurtling into the distance.
Yakz immediately bent forward as a pair of claws swept past his head.
His tail shot towards the attacker, wrapped around its legs, and, with a fluid spin of his body, flung the Aberrant away as though it weighed no more than a piece of paper.
"Weak. Weak. Weak! You are all so useless!" Yakz roared, his fury erupting as he recalled how his kin had been slaughtered like flies at Wall Rose.
He didn’t even realise when he suddenly blurred into motion.
His figure disappeared from sight, leaving behind only the sounds of crashing impacts and cries of pain.
Within seconds, all the remaining Aberrants crumpled before him.
Not a single one showed any sign of life. Every last one had been brutally eliminated.
"Defective. That’s what you all are. Your height means nothing against those werewolves. We need something stronger, something more efficient, whether tall or not. Tsk."
Yakz mused silently, another image of Ray flickering through his mind.
He drew a heavy breath before slowly exhaling.
Gradually, his lips curled into a subtle smirk.
’Fine, then. I guess I’ll just have to teach that brat a lesson and remind him why even his so-called world leaders haven’t dared to move against us. Just you wait, Ray Dawson.’
