Chapter 446: Chapter 445: Ice Sculpture

Seeing Su Qi was happy, Jiang Zuo decided to close his eyes for a little longer, hoping to sleep through the rest of the night.

"What are you doing? Still sleepy? Then go sleep in the bedroom," Su Qi said, playing with Jiang Zuo’s hair.

Jiang Zuo immediately sat up. "Oh, right. How did you get back so quickly?"

"My master brought me back. She was going to stay for a bit, but she left when she saw you were sleeping," Su Qi said.

Her aunt still didn’t know Jiang Zuo’s identity, so he wasn’t worried.

Then, Su Qi added, "I bought groceries. I’ll make you dinner now."

Jiang Zuo glanced at the sky outside. "What time is it? It’s already dark out."

Su Qi got up and headed for the kitchen. "It’s not that late, only around ten. We can go to sleep right after we eat."

But just as Su Qi was halfway there, she suddenly slipped and fell.

Jiang Zuo then heard a THUD.

Jiang Zuo was speechless.

’Karma.’

Su Qi pushed herself up into a sitting position on the floor and said unhappily, "Aren’t you going to come help me up?"

Hearing that, Jiang Zuo immediately went over and helped Su Qi to her feet.

Noticing a bump forming on her head, Jiang Zuo couldn’t help but laugh. "Didn’t you say you were a top-tier expert? And that your body was particularly tough? How’d you still get a bump?"

Su Qi glared at Jiang Zuo. "Not tough! Soft and delicate."

Then Su Qi wrapped her arms around Jiang Zuo’s neck. "Let’s just go to sleep."

Jiang Zuo didn’t say a word and simply carried Su Qi to their room, where they slept through the night.

「The next day」

Su Qi complained the moment she woke up, "You kept lying on my hair last night. I’m going to go bald!"

Jiang Zuo sounded rather helpless. "I think *I’m* the one who’s more likely to go bald. Have you considered that I’m just an ordinary person?"

Su Qi said, "Your wife is an ordinary person, too. We used to be like this all the time. When we first got together, you were even more into it than I was."

Jiang Zuo was speechless.

’He was still young back then.’

’Then again, he was still pretty young now. It was just a shame he had to pull all-nighters for Cultivation.’

Su Qi sat down next to Jiang Zuo. "Tie up my hair. I need to get up and make breakfast. We can save the groceries I bought yesterday for lunch."

After that, Jiang Zuo tied Su Qi’s hair for her.

Su Qi opened the wardrobe and looked at her reflection in the mirror. "Hmm, next time, can you tie it in a younger, more girlish style? It’ll make me look younger."

"You’re already young enough," Jiang Zuo said flatly.

Su Qi was already young to begin with. She had none of the airs of a married woman; she was practically a young girl.

"They say men like girls who are eighteen. If I can always look like I’m eighteen, then you can keep liking me forever, right?" Su Qi said as she got dressed.

"I’ll keep liking you no matter what age you are, as long as you’re Su Qi," Jiang Zuo said.

"What if I’m three?" Su Qi asked.

"Then I’ll raise you as my daughter," Jiang Zuo said.

"No way! That’s no good at all." By now, Su Qi was fully dressed. "What do you want to eat? I’ll go buy it."

Jiang Zuo was surprised. "Aren’t you supposed to be making breakfast?"

"Does that mean I can’t buy some things? Besides, why would I get this dressed up if I wasn’t going out?" Su Qi tapped Jiang Zuo on the head. "Have you been asleep for so long your brain’s gone fuzzy?"

Jiang Zuo said, "...Never mind. Just buy whatever you want. I’ll eat anything."

"Then get up quickly. I’ll be back in about ten minutes." With that, Su Qi headed out the door.

Watching Su Qi leave, Jiang Zuo couldn’t help but wonder, ’Don’t Cultivators brush their teeth?’

Jiang Zuo himself never used to brush his teeth. Who had time to waste on something like that?

’Would a Cultivator even get bad breath?’

’No way.’

But the main reason Jiang Zuo hadn’t brushed his teeth was because he’d never had the chance.

Back in the Immortal Spirit Cave Mansion, where would he have found a toothbrush and toothpaste?

Later, when he went to the Ancient Battlefield, the conditions were even worse than in the Immortal Spirit Cave Mansion. Brushing his teeth was out of the question.

He couldn’t even eat a normal meal there.

Jiang Zuo didn’t dwell on it. He got dressed, brushed his teeth, and washed his face.

As an ordinary person, these were things one had to do.

By the time he’d finished dawdling through his morning routine, Su Qi had returned. She placed the things she’d bought on the kitchen table.

Then she came over to Jiang Zuo. "Hurry up, I need to brush my teeth, too."

Jiang Zuo gave Su Qi a meaningful look. "Cultivators need to brush their teeth?"

Su Qi’s expression darkened. "I’m seriously tempted to smack you. Your wife is an ordinary person. *Ordinary*."

"Got it?"

Jiang Zuo was speechless.

With a casual "Oh," Jiang Zuo walked out to let Su Qi brush her teeth.

Su Qi huffed, ignoring Jiang Zuo, and began to brush her teeth and wash her face.

Jiang Zuo went to the kitchen, grabbed a steamed bun, and started eating.

He thought about turning on the TV, but as he walked over, he remembered theirs was broken.

It was strange, though, that Su Qi hadn’t reacted at all to the broken TV.

Taking a look, Jiang Zuo noticed a few new decorations where the Vase used to be.

’Are those four pieces of Crystal, about the size of the Vase?’

’No, they look more like blocks of ice.’

Jiang Zuo then took a closer look. Huh, there were actually fish inside the ice blocks—two nearly identical ones.

Looking again, he saw there was also a Red Duck hugging an apple.

’Pretty cute.’

The last one was plain; it was just an egg.

But upon seeing these things, Jiang Zuo couldn’t help but smile.

’As expected, Su Qi is a genius. This method is brilliant.’

Moreover, there were Profound Ice Runes on the blocks of ice. There was no way these little rascals could break out.

Not even Sweet Potato could manage it.

Yes, these were Sweet Potato and the other pets.

Except for Duan Qiao, all the balcony creatures were here.

’Turning them into ice sculptures was a really great idea. Why didn’t he think of that?’

Jiang Zuo was observing them with great interest when Su Qi came out.

Seeing Jiang Zuo looking at Sweet Potato and the others, she said, "They were misbehaving, and they still haven’t learned how to do a backflip. So I decided to let them cool down for a bit."

Jiang Zuo nodded. "Yes, I’ve been wanting to do that for a while now."

Then Jiang Zuo asked, "So why just the four of them? What about Duan Qiao?"

As he spoke, Jiang Zuo glanced out at the balcony. He saw Duan Qiao shivering in the outdoor water basin.

Su Qi, nibbling on a fried dough stick, said, "Duan Qiao spent several hours doing backflips in all sorts of positions, even on the barbecue grill. I think it’s learned its lesson, so I’m just making it stay in the cold water basin."

Jiang Zuo was speechless.

’To be fair, this wasn’t directly Duan Qiao’s fault,’ Jiang Zuo thought. ’But if it hadn’t helped the other four undo the Fire Runes, it wouldn’t have ended up like this.’

’It paid the price all the same.’

’Still, the fact that it could do a backflip really surprised him.’

Even though Duan Qiao was a Spiritual Body, its physical form had no strength. It was like an ordinary, thumb-sized person. Doing a backflip must have been incredibly difficult.

’Poor thing.’

Just then, Su Qi came up beside Jiang Zuo and added, "Later, let’s go back to that same store and buy another TV just like it. If they break it again, I’ll send them to the Holy Land for a while."

"It’ll remind Sweet Potato of the terror of being bossed around by my master and senior sisters."

Jiang Zuo was speechless.

’Sending them to the Holy Land was one thing, but the real issue was going back to that store...’

’He had just been there.’
