Chapter 61: Shikaku, don’t open his underwear

’Why are they excluding Danzo? They haven’t even mentioned him, and why wasn’t he called for this meeting?’

’Are they hiding something from him?’

Just as he was thinking about this, Daimyo said.

"Hayate Gekko, come forward!"

Hayate immediately appeared in the meeting room, which made many of the Jonin gasp in surprise.

They hadn’t been able to find him, so his close friends had already assumed that he was dead.

Especially one of the Anbu members almost lost control.

She was none other than his girlfriend, Yugao.

"Inochi Yamanaka, step forward!"

Inochi stepped forward with confusion. Unlike Shikaku and Jiraiya, he wasn’t present while Hayate was giving them the information about Danzo.

Inochi nodded and turned towards Hayate.

"Now, I need you to calm down. As long as you don’t resist my Chakra, nothing will happen to your brain, understand?"

Hayate nodded, and Inochi made a hand sign before putting his hand on Hayate’s head.

In an instant, he appeared inside Hayate’s psyche and started looking through his memories, especially his recent memories.

His face when he saw the recent memories. He almost panicked inside his head.

Although he knew Danzo was a Warhawk and wasn’t a good person, he never expected Danzo would lay hands on his own friends.

At this moment, he couldn’t help but curse the Third Hokage.

Because without Hiruzen’s decisions, how could Danzo get so much power?

After rummaging through his memories, Inochi left Hayate’s psyche and removed his hand.

As soon as he did that, Hayate collapsed on the ground.

While it wasn’t harmful, it was certainly dangerous.

Inochi bowed towards Daimyo and said.

"Lord Daimyo, everything Hayate said is right. Danzo Shimura killed the Elder Homura and Elder Koharu for the position of the Hokage."

"He couldn’t kill Lord Jiraiya and Lady Tsunade, but as long as he killed them, he could become the Hokage."

"Till the last moment, Elder Koharu believed Danzo wouldn’t get the position of Hokage, but he seems very confident in convincing you."

At this moment, Shikaku’s eyes shrank rapidly.

"Genjutsu!"

"Huh?"

This instantly made everyone look at him in confusion. They were barely digesting the information given by Shikaku.

How could Danzo kill his own friends for the position of Hokage?

And what did Shikaku mean by Genjutsu?

"Shikaku, you mean Danzo would use Genjutsu to control me? But, with you around, can he even do that?"

Certainly, Daimyo believed Danzo was fully capable of doing something so ridiculous.

After all, he could kill his own friends.

But he never expected Danzo could control Genjutsu.

"Lord Daimyo, this is just speculation from me, but a long time ago, there was the death of a fine shinobi- Shisui Uchiha."

"His death is still a mystery to me, but he was also a part of the Roots and Anbu."

"What if we assume Danzo killed him? Since he is capable of killing the elders, what’s stopping him from killing another fellow villager?"

"If he killed Shisui and got his hands on those eyes, he could get powerful Genjutsu, strong enough to control you without any of us realizing it."

Hearing that, Hiashi raised his hand and said.

"Shikaku, your reasoning is valid, but with Byakugan in the village, he can’t use Genjutsu on anyone."

That instantly brought relief to Daimyo, but Shikaku countered.

"Itachi Uchiha was able to kill the entire Uchiha Clan by himself. It can be estimated that he has the same eyes as Madara Uchiha."

"What if Shisui also had similar eyes? What if Danzo killed Shisui for those eyes?"

"What if they have the power to control others without anyone finding the trace?"

"This explains why Danzo is so confident about becoming the Hokage."

At this moment, Kakashi stepped forward and said.

"Lord Daimyo, I have something to say about this. A long time ago, Danzo sent someone to kill me and take my Sharingan."

"At that time, I told the Third Hokage about this, but he only brought the person who tried to assassinate me out of the Root and did nothing to Danzo."

Hearing his words, Daimyo angrily cursed.

"What kind of idiot is Hiruzen? How could he let someone like Danzo live in the village? Is his friendship so important that he can’t even see Danzo’s fault?"

"Didn’t Lord Hashirama kill Madara Uchiha despite their friendship? How can he be even worthy of the title of the Hokage?"

But nobody stepped forward. Not even Asuma Sarutobi, his own son.

Because regardless of what the situation was, Hiruzen was the Hokage. He should have Danzo under control instead of letting him run wild.

They were quite surprised about the friendship between the First Hokage and Madara. They knew Senju and Uchiha worked together to form a village.

But they didn’t know Madara and the First Hokage were best friends.

"Jiraiya, start the funeral immediately! Kakashi, ask Naruto if he can fight. If he has recovered, we will take action against Danzo immediately."

"Please calm down, Lord Daimyo! Roots under Danzo are nothing to scoff at. He has some of the most powerful elite members."

Inochi stepped forward and hurriedly explained.

Shibi Aburame also stepped forward and said.

"A few years ago, Danzo took my clan member to the Roots. His parasitic insects are so potent that they can kill someone just by touching him."
