Chapter 64: Confession and Awakening

"Hinata, thank you for the food!"

As soon as he heard the doorbell, Naruto ran to Hinata and thanked her.

Hinata couldn’t help but get flustered by his reaction. She lowered her head and whimpered.

"I...I...I..I’m happy to help."

She was nervous, excited, and most importantly, lovestruck.

Hinata always had a crush on Naruto, but she lacked the courage to confess or even get close to him.

She understood that she was a bit of a coward, but she was also desperately trying to change herself, trying to meet his eyes.

But things never changed. She became just another classmate for him, and that was it. She believed it was because she had changed enough.

That’s why after graduation, she became a bit bolder. During the Chunin Exam, she was able to talk to him.

But she never expected Naruto to confess first.

Or rather, she never expected Naruto to suddenly ignore Sakura and focus only on her.

At that moment, Hinata realized Naruto had changed.

Not only did Naruto start focusing on her, but he also shared his chakra with her. Although he did the same with Sasuke, that wasn’t the point.

The point was Naruto didn’t share the Chakra with Sakura and only with her.

She became more important to Naruto than Sakura.

This was enough for Hinata to realize that Naruto liked her more than Sakura. Even though he hadn’t confessed, Hinata understood this.

She was ecstatic. She had never felt this happy in her life, but deep down, she couldn’t help but wonder if Naruto truly liked her.

It almost felt like Naruto was replacing her with someone else, but that couldn’t be true since Naruto didn’t have anyone else.

If someone were to ask who understood Naruto the most.

Iruka and Jiraiya would be good contenders, but Hinata and Kurama would take the cake here.

Kurama lived within Naruto, so he understood Naruto more than anyone else. Hinata understood him because she had watched him.

Not as a Fox Spirit, not as a potential threat, but simply as Naruto Uzumaki.

This was why Naruto couldn’t let go of her.

Naruto was not exactly a good kid. Naruto knew about love in the first part of Naruto. He knew about lust before he even graduated.

(The whole idea of him not understanding love during Naruto the Last was complete bullshit.)

Naruto just didn’t understand Hinata’s feelings for him until she confessed when Hanabi’s eyes were taken by Toneri.

When Naruto saw his past through the eyes of a third-person perspective inside a Genjutsu, he realized who truly loved him.

It was Hinata.

That’s why Naruto, despite only having the memories of his future self, could not let go of his feelings for Hinata.

Hinata truly understood him just like Kurama.

Yes, she remained silent about it.

But just like how he couldn’t blame himself for doing pranks to gain attention, he couldn’t blame her for being a coward.

Instead, he should be happy that there was always someone who was silently watching him.

At this moment, Hinata and Naruto just sat on their respective chairs.

Naruto forgot about the bells and just kept his eyes on Hinata.

Hinata forgot about the food and just lowered her head due to her shyness.

Naruto clenched his fists. He gathered the courage that he had been holding on to for twelve years and said.

"Hinata, will you be my girlfriend?"

He confessed.

Naruto confessed without a second thought. He knew he couldn’t contain his feelings for longer.

"Awww! He did it. Naruto confessed. Hurray!"

Kushina excitedly shouted, raising her hands to cheer her son.

Minato didn’t say a word, but he kept smiling.

Kurama also smiled, but his thoughts were different.

’You can’t see this other me, but Naruto succeeded. Naruto has changed the future, and he will continue to do so.’

’Tailed Beasts will not be food, and Naruto will not lose me.’

At this moment, a silent Chakra that was flowing into Naruto’s body and his body began to increase.

The increment was very small relative to their Chakra Reserve, but it was extremely potent.

When it increased, Naruto’s entire bloodline began to change.

And so did Kurama.

Hinata froze. She never thought she would get confessed to so easily, so... quickly.

Her eyes almost shimmered with tears as she kept her head.

At this moment, Naruto continued his confession.

"I was wrong and confused, Hinata. I know I am a dimwit who doesn’t understand others."

"I won’t blame others for my upbringing, nor can I ignore those who truly understand me."

"Maybe I won’t be a good person for you; maybe I won’t keep you happy. I don’t even have the courage to say I love you."

"Because I am afraid I don’t understand what love is. But I understand one thing. Hinata, I can’t live without you."

"I...."

Before he could say anything more, his lips were suddenly closed.

His pupils dilated as he noticed a face up close. He was so immersed in his own words that he didn’t realize Hinata was getting closer to him.

Her lips touched his lips. Her face burned red, steam rising from her head, but Hinata showed a courage he didn’t dare show.

’So, you’ve always been this strong, huh!’

Naruto wrapped his arms around her neck as he shamelessly deepened their kiss. It was nothing more than a kiss, but it felt like an eternity to them.

They didn’t just share their kiss. They shared their courage. They shared their Chakra. And most importantly, they shared their feelings.

At this moment, without even realizing the situation, Naruto’s eyes were changing.

They suddenly became pale white with no pupils.

[Byakugan]

Naruto didn’t know about it, nor did he care. As he just forgot himself in the kiss, those eyes returned to their normal self.

At the same time, inside Naruto’s body, a small green Chakra inside of his body was suddenly pulled out by Hinata’s Chakra through their shared kiss.

When this Chakra entered Hinata’s body, she seemed to hear a gentle voice in her head.
