Chapter 1862: Black Tower’s suspicious silence

Crystal City

I heard Old Man Martin’s words. I will keep an eye on the Black Tower. We then continued to have our conversation.

I told Old Man Martin to stay here, but he refused. He is going back to the Magic City tomorrow morning.

He had come here to see and help me since the problem was solved.

He thinks that the Green Elemental Tower would make a move against me because they have to do something about the reputation damage.

Before leaving, he warned me once again about the Black Tower.

I promised him that I would come to his store in the future.

Once he was gone, I thought of the Zero Puppet. I had released it earlier to spy on Magic Lord Clint. I’m sure he didn’t leave his hotel.

He should be leaving the city, yet he is staying in the hotel after that embarrassment.

A few minutes later, I got a call from Manager Lara. When I answered her call, I heard the shock in her voice.

“Vincent, what have you done?”

“Is this real?” Lara asked.

Hearing that, I understood her confusion. She wouldn’t have expected this either.

“Yeah, it’s my plan. I teamed up with a local media house to trap Magic Lord Clint. He had caused a lot of damage here. I need evidence; only then can you guys do something about it,” I said to her.

My tone was calm.

Lara found out that Vincent was dissatisfied, even though she had asked him earlier whether he wanted help from the Forbidden Wizards. He had denied it completely.

“I know you are upset, but this evidence was enough. Everyone has seen the live footage. Some of the elders didn’t like the Green Elemental Tower. There is some support in the White Silver Faction.”

“They will use this opportunity to demand answers from the Green Elemental Tower. I’m sure Lord Erwin and Charlotte are on this matter. They won’t let go of such a good opportunity,” Lara said on the call.

“I hope so,” I replied.

A few minutes later, I ended the call. Then I waited until the customers stopped coming. But they continued to come in ones or twos until nighttime.

That night, I closed the shop. No one was here except Old Man Rock and the members. The two monsters made the underground their home; they are not coming out of it.

After confirming that the shop was closed, the members went back to their rooms.

I came back to my room and waited until midnight. Right then, dark red smoke entered the room through the window gap. It then took the shape of the Zero Puppet.

“Master,” Zero Puppet greeted me.

I sat down on the sofa and looked toward the Zero Puppet. “What did you find?” I asked.

“Master, Magic Lord Clint turned his hotel room upside down. The hotel manager asked him to leave the hotel, yet he is staying there.”

“He is getting phone calls continuously, but he hasn’t answered even one of them. He consumed some magic material before sleeping,” Zero Puppet replied.

A cold smile appeared on my face.

“He deserved it. But it was not enough. I’ll take care of him some other day. But I need to monitor the movements of the Black Tower,” I muttered.

Then I decided to give a task to the Zero Puppet. I told the Zero Puppet to find anything related to the Black Tower.

The Black Tower is my main enemy. They have not acted yet, which makes them more suspicious.

The Zero Puppet agreed. The puppet won’t feel tired as long as it consumes mana stones. Then I gave it a pouch of super-grade mana stones.

The Zero Puppet accepted them, turned into dark red smoke, and left the place through the window gap.

Seeing that, my eyes gleamed. I have complete trust in the ability of the Zero Puppet.

Then I collected my thoughts and left the room. Next, I went to the terrace. The informer was yet to come. I didn’t know what news he was going to bring.

Shortly afterward, a black shadow appeared in a zigzag manner. It entered the mansion before coming to the terrace. The wizard appeared in the same black-clad wizard dress.

“What did you bring today?” I asked.

Expectations rose in my heart. This person brings new information every time. I was hoping it would be the same today.

“Earlier, the wizard families were ready to move against you after the Green Elemental Tower, but today you have disrupted everyone’s plans.

“You exposed the Green Elemental Tower and brought their scheme to light.”

“Now the focus is on them. No other forces will be coming out next. I spotted the spies of other forces leaving the city, so you can relax for the next period of time,” he said.

Hearing that, I was not surprised. But I had thought he would bring new news.

“That’s all?” I asked.

A quick gleam appeared in the black-clad wizard’s eyes.

Every time before, he saw surprise in Wizard Vincent’s eyes, meaning he had brought the intel for the first time. But this time, he saw complete disappointment.

“It’s everything for now,” the wizard replied.

“Okay, you can go now,” I said.

The next second, the wizard became a black shadow and left the place. Once he was gone from the Crystal Community, I didn’t leave. I had a feeling that tonight wouldn’t be peaceful.

It wasn’t any intel from the Zero Puppet or the black wizard; it was my own instinct. I could only think of Magic Lord Clint.

“Don’t tell me he is going to attack tonight,” I thought.

He still hasn’t left the hotel. He must be pissed off. As a Supreme Wizard, I did something hurtful to him.

He was embarrassed by me. As a Magic Lord, it must be painful for him.

I calmed my heart and decided to wait here. I had a feeling that I wouldn’t have to wait for long. I might fight Magic Lord Clint today.

Time passed. The whole city was silent. Except for the main areas, everyone else was sleeping.
