- Chapter 391 - 252: Having a Bunch of Little Babies in Grass Skirts

“Don’t be silly. I’ll get you both home, I promise.”
Chen Yuan clenched his fists, his body erupting in a brilliant light. His expression was one of absolute resolve.
“Wow, Darling, you’re so radiant~~”
Jiangg Yao and Jiangg Ning said in unison, instantly turning into his biggest fans. Their eyes sparkled with countless little stars.
They began to dance in circles around him.
…
“Hehehe… hehe.”
In the living room, Chen Yuan let out a strange laugh in his sleep. He smacked his lips and rolled over on the sofa.
His phone, set in sleep mode beside his pillow, suddenly lit up in the dead of night.
It displayed the time: 04:11 AM.
This bizarre dream continued, causing Chen Yuan to frown one moment and talk in his sleep the next. A trail of drool ran unceremoniously from the corner of his mouth.
…
“COUGH, COUGH, COUGH— We’ve finally reached land! Rescue! I need to find help, fast.”
In his dream.
Chen Yuan pulled open the submarine’s hatch, scrambled up the access shaft, and threw all his weight into pushing the cover open with his arms. The moment he breathed the fresh air, a cold wind rushed down his throat, sending him into a fit of choking coughs.
Below, Jiangg Ning and Jiangg Yao watched him with concern. They had shed their wedding dresses for durable, brown leather outfits that looked quite warm, though they were still missing thick hats.
The journey from the seabed to dry land had been utterly surreal. The dangerous ocean was just on the other side of the submarine’s thin steel hull. They were a lone vessel in the deep, seeming so very small.
Through the round glass of the porthole, they could see fish swimming past. The submarine’s two searchlights pierced the gloom, yet they seemed swallowed by the boundless darkness. Every so often, strange, eerie sounds would echo from the depths.
Chen Yuan had been terrified at first—not of the ocean, but for Jiangg Ning and Jiangg Yao. He was afraid they wouldn’t be able to hold on. After all, there was no guarantee they would be rescued. The conflict between the hope for survival and the fear of the unknown—and of death—could easily break a person’s spirit.
But after they’d been traveling for a while, he noticed that Ningning and Yaoyao weren’t showing any signs of distress. In fact, their hope seemed to have been rekindled. They were even in the mood to huddle by the window together and watch the colorful fish outside.
Schools of parrotfish swarmed around the submarine, seemingly drawn to its lights.
The two sisters were filled with wonder, still enjoying themselves as if on an adventure tour.
As Chen Yuan searched all over the submarine, he would occasionally glance back at them. Seeing them, his heart would fill with a profound sense of peace, and his anxiety would lessen considerably.
He found a lot of survival gear: a satellite phone that he couldn’t get to turn on no matter how many times he tried, three or four toolboxes, clothes, instant food, a supply of drinking water, and so on.
Unfortunately, there was no reserve fuel.
That being the case, Chen Yuan could only wait for the submarine to reach land. A big city would be ideal; as long as they could get a signal, the three of them would be saved. He clung to this belief… After a long wait, a grating “CREAK… CREAK…” sound echoed through the vessel, and the submarine began to surface.
A few minutes later, they reached their destination. This brought them to the moment when Chen Yuan pushed open the submarine’s hatch.
Chen Yuan stood on the ladder, his head just poking out. His eyes were wide with shock, astonishment, doubt, and confusion. He looked left, right, up, and down, wishing he could spin like a top to take it all in, because the scene before him drove him to despair.
“Fuck! We’re really stranded on a deserted island!”
The biped’s roar echoed across the beach, startling countless birds from their peaceful slumber in the island’s groves and sending them fluttering away in a panic. Tiny crabs on the sand scrambled back into their holes, and a coconut even came crashing down from a towering palm with a “THUD”.
The storm at sea seemed like a phantom, leaving no trace it had ever been. The beach was covered in soft, golden sand. Shriveled kelp and countless seashells littered the shore. Reddish-brown fruits from some unknown tree had been pecked open by birds, their seeds scattered about. Modern fishing nets and plastic trash had drifted across the ocean; even this remote island hadn’t been spared.
This was a deserted island, completely uninhabited.
“No signal… It’s over. I’m a regular Robinson Crusoe now.” Chen Yuan pounded the soft sand in anguish. After venting his frustration, he collapsed, completely drained of strength.
He flopped onto his back, spread-eagled, and gazed up at the lustrous full moon and the countless stars. It was a beautiful sight. If he weren’t in such a perilous situation, he would have taken the time to truly appreciate it.
Chen Yuan closed his eyes, the corners of his mouth twitching uncontrollably.
He lay there in despair for he knew not how long…
“Darling, don’t be so down. At least you have us with you. The three of us are alive and well, aren’t we? We’re not even hurt. We can survive, even on a deserted island.”
A soft voice whispered in his ear, calling to him. Chen Yuan forced his heavy eyelids open.
He opened his eyes to see Ningning’s fair, delicate face leaning close, filling his vision.
“That’s right, Darling,” Jiangg Yao chimed in, her pretty face blushing as she spoke, her beautiful eyes shy. “We can live on this island. I just took a look around, and there are plenty of resources! We can survive for a long, long time. Maybe we’ll even be rescued someday. Besides… my sister and I are here with you, so you won’t be lonely. We could even have lots and lots of little babies… little babies in grass skirts.”
“Plenty of resources???” Chen Yuan shot up. He glanced into the distance, then his gaze snapped back to the two sisters. “Little babies in grass skirts???”
“What… you don’t want to?” Jiangg Ning asked, undoing a button to reveal a delicate, pale shoulder that seemed even brighter than the moonlight. “Don’t you think this remote, deserted island still has a certain charm?” She turned her head slightly, avoiding Chen Yuan’s gaze in a way that was utterly tantalizing.
“I think it’s beautiful here, too~ It wouldn’t be so bad to stay,” Jiangg Yao said, winking at him. She poked her fingertips together, her lips an inviting shade of pink.
Chen Yuan’s gaze was locked on her, unable to look away.
“Well then…” His Adam’s apple bobbed. “Under the cover of tonight’s darkness…”
In the next instant, he was on his feet, pouncing toward the two sisters.
Laughter like silver bells instantly rang out across the lonely island, washing away the earlier anxiety and despair.
“Giggle, giggle~ Darling caught me!”
