- Chapter 395 - 256: Arriving at the Women’s Country: The Beautiful Art Academy Seniors

Choosing girls over your bros was a crime that demanded punishment. The sun was scorching, yet Liu Nan and Wei Zhen had the heart to let him sweat bullets. Chen Yuan was heartbroken.
He never thought their brotherly bond could be so fragile!
If he hadn’t produced the pass to the Art Academy, these ungrateful bastards probably would’ve rather died than leave the dorm. All they could think about right now were the long legs, slender waists, and pretty faces of the senior girls at the neighboring Art Academy.
Chen Yuan wasn’t about to let them off easy. In the end, he successfully bartered the pass in exchange for Liu Nan and Wei Zhen treating him and Yafeng to dinner.
And so, the four of them cheerfully left the dorm, their friendship restored.
“Hey, we can’t just walk all the way there, can we?” Not three minutes out of the dorm, Liu Nan was already getting baked by the sun. “What did Senior Sister Liu tell you?”
“She didn’t say much. Just to find more people to go with.”
“She didn’t give you any transportation? Even bikes would be fine. Running over there is just pure torture.”
“Sure, we could ride bikes, but it’d be the same on the way back. We won’t have any free hands while carrying stuff.”
“Yuan, where’s your car parked? It’d be so much more comfortable to drive. Why are we running?” Wei Zhen asked.
“I didn’t drive today. It’s parked back at my apartment complex.”
“Huh?”
The guys’ faces fell. University students have the most fragile physiques; they can barely carry anything. Running 600 meters would leave them gasping for half an hour. This manual labor was truly a bit much for them.
“I’ve been to the campus next door once. It takes twenty minutes just jogging, and that’s only to get to the front gate. A round trip while carrying stuff? We’ll be dead tired. No, we have to think of something!”
“It takes that long?”
“You’ve never been, so of course you don’t know. The path winds all over the place. It’s really far.”
“The problem is, where are we supposed to get transportation? We can’t just borrow another student’s electric scooter, can we? Hey, Yafeng, do you know anyone in our class who has one?”
“Not sure.”
“Who needs an electric scooter? I’ve got an idea!” Liu Nan slapped his forehead, his eyebrows shooting up. “You three wait here. I’ll go get us some transportation right now.”
With that, he took off running in another direction, leaving Chen Yuan and the others to exchange confused glances, wondering what kind of crazy idea Liu Nan had cooked up this time.
「Ten minutes later.」
The three of them were waiting under the shade of a tree, some squatting, some sitting, all bored out of their minds. Quan Yafeng chewed on a blade of grass, and Chen Yuan’s phone had become hot to the touch after just a short while of gaming.
After a long, anxious wait, the WHIRRR of a motor came from the main road facing the dorms. Liu Nan sped toward them on an electric tricycle, a smug look on his face as he mashed the BEEP BEEP of the horn.
The wind swept his hair straight back like a patch of weeds, failing to hide his exhilaration.
“Where’d you get a tricycle!” Quan Yafeng jumped to his feet. “Awesome! With this thing, we can get to the campus next door in minutes. We can even go for a joyride. How cool is that?”
“Nice,” Chen Yuan, who had given up hope, said, a pleasant surprise showing in his eyes.
With this electric tricycle, what was supposed to be miserable drudgery had turned into an enjoyable joyride.
They all clambered aboard, piling into the rear cargo bed and each finding a spot to sit.
They were all kids from small towns, so they couldn’t be more familiar with this kind of vehicle. When Chen Yuan was little, his family grew a small patch of peanuts. Too lazy to use the large farm tricycle, they used this smaller one, which became a trusty workhorse. He’d driven it many times.
“I borrowed it from the cafeteria. The auntie in charge of procurement and I are tight. A mere tricycle? She lent it to me the second I asked.” Liu Nan’s chin was practically in the air.
“You’re a hero! Let’s get going. Be careful not to hit any students while you’re driving.”
“I guarantee a crash, bro!” Liu Nan gripped the handlebars, and the tricycle, despite carrying four grown men, still had plenty of power. With a WHOOSH, it shot forward.
The sound of the horn echoed down the tree-lined avenue. A cool breeze blew, and fallen leaves were sent flying by the air currents from the wheels. The brilliant sunlight illuminated the uncleaned cabbage leaves still scattered in the cargo bed.
As they passed the academic buildings, many students turned to stare, their gazes filled with a mix of bewilderment and surprise.
Some of the male students even looked on with envy. It seemed Chen Yuan and his friends were having a great time.
“Where you headed, Liu? Let me hop on for a bit,” a buddy they knew, on his way to the sports field to play ball, called out, waving.
“No time for fun. I’m on official business.”
The silver tricycle sped down the road, infinitely more efficient than running. In just a few minutes, they reached the school gate. They turned left onto a small, one-way road, and Chen Yuan and the others were grinning from ear to ear. Liu Nan was even letting out strange cries of “WOOHOO! WOOHOO!” as he showed off his driving skills.
“Since we’re so hyped, why not put on a song, Yuan.”
“Sure. What do you want to hear?”
“’Blue Lotus Flower.’ It has to be ’Blue Lotus Flower’! I love Xu Wei,” Liu Nan suggested, turning his head as he drove.
“Whatever you say, we’ll listen to. Just drive properly. Don’t flip this thing and make us all eat dirt.”
“My driving skills are unbeatable. Don’t worry.”
’As if I’m not worried,’ Chen Yuan thought. He took out his phone, opened his music playlist, searched for “Blue Lotus Flower,” and hit play. A soothing melody immediately began to fill the air.
“Louder! Turn it all the way up.”
“Got it.”
Chen Yuan cranked the volume to max and restarted the song. Xu Wei’s deep, husky voice flowed into their ears, accompanied by the whistling of the wind. They all started swaying to the music, standing in the cargo bed like a bunch of lunatics, laughing as they sped forward.
“Nothing can stop~ my yearning for freedom!” Liu Nan bellowed, veins popping on his neck as he sped up again.
“Stop singing, you’re terrible! Just let Xu Wei sing.”
“That world of freedom in my heart~ so clear and so vast~”
Liu Nan ignored Wei Zhen’s jabs and sang with even more gusto. He may have sounded terrible, but he definitely set the mood. When the song approached its climax, the friends all started shouting the lyrics together. Even the more reserved Chen Yuan mumbled along for a few lines.
They had been utterly ridiculous the entire way.
Being embarrassed alone is a terrible thing, but when you have your bros being embarrassed right alongside you, it’s not scary at all. In fact, it’s wonderful. It’s youth.
They drove the tricycle from their main campus to the gate of the neighboring Art Academy, attracting the stares of students and teachers the whole way. They pushed forward under the disdainful glares of the Art Academy’s security guards—who were clearly unhappy but had to let them pass—and successfully arrived at the legendary “Women’s Country.” The moment they entered, they were dazzled; it was a feast for the eyes.
The girls of Lanjing Art Academy… their reputation was definitely not just hype.
Countless senior girls were walking toward them, heading out of the campus for lunch. Their makeup was exquisite, their bearings graceful and varied. Every single one had a decent sense of style, and their figures were eye-catching. In the warm spring weather, they had switched to short skirts and jeans, which either exposed or hugged their long legs. Some were full and curvy, radiating a healthy vitality; others were slender and perfectly proportioned.
Chen Yuan and his friends’ eyes filled with appreciation; they didn’t know where to look first.
The senior girls noticed the group of unfamiliar faces and looked over in surprise. They weren’t shy around strangers at all; some even took the initiative to say hello.
One of the more outgoing girls actually shouted directly at them on the tricycle, “Hey handsome, where are you headed? Can you give me a ride?”
Her silver-bell-like question triggered a wave of delicate laughter from the surrounding girls. Even the thick-skinned Liu Nan couldn’t handle it, his face flushing slightly.
Walking along the main road of the campus, they saw almost no male students. The gender ratio was seriously skewed.
Liu Nan couldn’t help but sigh in regret. Why wasn’t he a student here? He regretted it to death.
Chen Yuan was also taken aback by the enthusiasm of the senior girls from the neighboring campus. These girls were nothing like the shy students from his own main campus. Many were pointing at him, their eyes sparkling as they chattered about something.
It looked like they were about to run over and ask him something.
“Chen Yuan? Is that him, the guy in the cart!?”
“Looks like him to me.”
“No way, it’s really him? Holy crap…”
A few faint snippets of conversation reached his ears, leaving Chen Yuan completely stunned. ’How does anyone here know who I am?’
He’d never once been here before.
