Necromancer Of The Shadows - Chapter 1367: Imposter

Chapter 1367: Imposter
“Seems like you know me,” Evan said as he gazed at Turoon with an indifferent expression.
“I…”
Turoon’s face turned even paler after hearing Evan’s words, as they confirmed that his guess regarding Evan’s identity was correct.
Molar frowned when he saw Turoon’s reaction.
Although he did not know what had happened, as a Rank Five core evolver, he understood clearly that anyone capable of frightening Turoon to such a degree was certainly not simple.
Yet, what puzzled him even more was Evan’s level.
From Evan’s aura, Molar could clearly tell that he was only a beginner-level Rank Four core evolver. For him and Turoon, both of whom stood at the peak of Rank Five, killing a beginner-level Rank Four core evolver should have been as easy as swatting a fly as the difference between a beginner-level Rank Four Core Evolver and a peak rank five core evolver is too big.
Even if Evan were a genius and far stronger than ordinary Rank Four core evolvers, Molar still did not believe that he posed any real threat to them.
Although he was surprised that Evan brought them to the third layer of void, he still had confidence that he could leave from here.
Seeing that Turoon could not even muster the courage to speak properly after seeing him, Evan was inwardly speechless, wondering just what kind of trauma Azroth had inflicted upon this poor guy in the past.
However, he quickly dismissed the thought as was not here to listen to their stories.
Suddenly, the entire void realm surrounding Turoon and Molar distorted violently. Their movements, thoughts, and energy circulation became significantly more difficult as Evan activated his Event Horizon skill within Void Requiem.
====
—) Event Horizon: Creates an area of pure Void Energy in which time and space distort. Inside, light bends, sound disappears, and gravity warps, making movement and thought sluggish. Enemies caught within are drained of their life force and energy, which are slowly absorbed by the caster.
====
Because the skill was used inside the third layer of the void space, where void energy was extremely abundant, its effects were far stronger than they would have been outside.
Molar and Turoon reacted instantly.
The moment Evan activated Event Horizon, both of them felt the drastic change in their surroundings and immediately attempted to flee from the affected area.
However, because they were already within the third layer of the void and further suppressed by the effects of Void Requiem, they could not escape immediately, and in the very next second—
“Shadow World.”
A pitch-black dome rose around them, sealing off their escape routes entirely.
“It’s impossible for you two to escape unless you kill me,” Evan said indifferently as the Halberd of Destruction appeared in his hand, glowing with pure destructive power.
“If you want to leave, you’d be better off fighting me with everything you have instead of thinking about running away.”
As he spoke, Evan casually thrust the Halberd of Destruction forward in the direction of Turoon and Molar.
Although the movement was light and he stood far away from them, both Turoon’s and Molar’s expressions changed drastically and without hesitation, they instantly stepped aside.
The moment they moved, a small void rift silently opened at the spot where they had been standing just a split second earlier.
The tip of the halberd emerged from within the rift, releasing a sharp beam formed from pure destructive power.
Although the power of the beam was not overwhelming and would not have caused serious injuries, both Turoon and Molar felt a chill run down their spines as they could clearly tell that Evan had not even been serious with that attack and yet, it was still capable of harming them.
After dodging the strike, Turoon took a deep breath and finally managed to regain control over his chaotic emotions.
“You look like him… but you are not him,” He finally said, narrowing his eyes at Evan.
“Not to mention that you’re only at Rank Four. There’s no way he would waste time using such weak attacks in a fight. If you were truly him, Molar and I would have already been killed more than a hundred times in this amount of time.”
Molar was startled by Turoon’s words and asked in a serious tone,
“You know him?”
“He’s just an imposter,” Turoon sneered. “Let me give you a piece of advice, it would be best for you to stop impersonating that man. There are countless people in Utopia who want him dead. If you were caught by them, your fate would be worse than death.”
Evan stared at Turoon silently for a moment before a faint smile appeared on his face.
“Is that so…” He said lightly, and in the next instant, a terrifying killing intent surged throughout the Shadow World.
When Turoon saw Evan smile, he felt a surge of relief deep within his heart. At that moment, he became completely convinced that Evan was not Azroth.
After all, he knew that man did not understand the concept of smiling.
However, in the very next second, when the killing intent suddenly filled the entire shadow world, Turoon’s entire body turned cold, as if he had been thrown into an icy cellar.
His face drained of all color as a dreadful thought crossed his mind.
’It can’t be…’ He screamed inwardly, slowly raising his head to look toward the pitch-black ceiling of the Shadow World.
’He’s just an imposter. There’s no way he could use that ability…’ He reassured himself repeatedly as he continued to look upward.
But the moment he saw it—
A massive red pupil, filled with boundless killing intent, stared down at him and Molar with absolute indifference.
Turoon’s legs began to tremble violently, and he nearly collapsed to the ground.
Molar fared slightly better, but even he was almost paralyzed under the effects of Gaze of the Monarch.
’What in the world… is that thing…’ Molar swallowed hard as fear filled his eyes while he stared at the crimson pupil above them.
Seeing Turoon’s trembling legs, the faint smile on Evan’s face widened further.
“So,” Evan asked calmly,”Do you still think I’m an imposter?”
