Chapter 258: Chapter 258: The Forsaken General’s Already Dead!
Alicar, Oasis, Godrick, and Violet all stared at Leon in complete silence, their expressions frozen somewhere between disbelief and confusion.
For a few seconds, no one spoke. Then Violet finally broke the silence.
“…You killed the [Forsaken General]?” she asked slowly, her eyebrows lifting as she studied him carefully, as if trying to find any sign that he was joking, “On the same day you arrived here?”
Leon didn’t hesitate.
“Not just that,” he replied with a small, almost casual smile, as if what he was saying wasn’t anything special, “I killed the [Fire Silk Spider] too… both of them at the same time.”
That only made things more insane.
Alicar blinked, then frowned slightly, his expression shifting from surprise to something closer to concern.
“…Are you alright, Leon?” he asked, stepping a little closer, his tone genuine this time, “Did something happen to you after arriving here…?”
Godrick, on the other hand, didn’t even try to hide his reaction.
“HA!” he laughed loudly, crossing his arms as he looked down at Leon with clear amusement, “The useless human had a dream, it seems… does he even know what the [Forsaken General] looks like, or what it can do?!”
Oasis tilted her head slightly, clearly trying to make sense of it, though her confusion was just as obvious.
“And when exactly did you even have the time to do that?” she asked, her voice uncertain, “Even with all five of us together, fighting that thing would be impossible…”
Their reactions made sense.
From their perspective, what Leon was saying wasn’t just unlikely. It was ridiculous.
The [Forsaken General] at full strength had two million combat power, which was far beyond anything Leon should be able to handle, especially considering his own power wasn’t even close to that level.
A single strike from that monster would be enough to kill him.
Even someone like Violet, with her strength, wouldn’t come out of that fight unharmed, and only would survive by escaping.
So for Leon to claim that he had killed it… on his first day… alone…
Of course they wouldn’t believe him.
“Hold on,” Violet said again, her voice cutting through the others as she focused on something else Leon had said earlier, her gaze sharpening slightly, “You also mentioned that we don’t have to worry about the [Forsaken Legion]… what did you mean by that?”
Leon shrugged lightly.
“I’m not completely sure about this part,” he admitted, though his tone remained calm, “But I think I killed most of them.”
That statement only deepened the silence.
There might still be some knights left, scattered across the city, but without their general, their numbers would slowly dwindle, especially with creatures like the spiders roaming freely.
In other words… The [Forsaken Legion] was effectively finished. At least, for the most part.
“…Did this happen last night?” Violet asked again, her expression now far more serious than before, her eyes locked onto Leon as if trying to read him, “You’re telling me that you killed the [Forsaken General] yourself… the same monster that has been terrorizing this place for years?”
Leon nodded once, “Yeah.”
Violet’s gaze didn’t move, “…I’m having a hard time believing that.”
This time, even Alicar and Oasis didn’t say anything. Their silence spoke for them.
Godrick, however… He had reached his limit.
Fwoosh!
With a sudden burst of movement, he slammed his foot into the ground, the impact cracking the floor beneath him, and in the next instant, he was already standing right in front of Leon, his towering figure casting a shadow over him.
The speed alone was enough to show the difference between them.
Leon didn’t move. He didn’t even flinch.
He simply looked up at Godrick calmly, as if the situation wasn’t dangerous at all.
But before things could escalate further, Leon decided that he had let this go on long enough.
Without saying anything else, he opened his [Storage Space].
Fwoosh!
A moment later, he pulled out an item and tossed it onto the ground between them.
The others instinctively turned their gaze toward it.
It was a head. The [Forsaken General Head (Trophy)].
The moment it hit the ground, the faint aura surrounding it made it clear that it wasn’t something ordinary, and more importantly, it was something all of them could inspect.
Violet stepped forward slightly, her eyes narrowing as she read the description.
“…Proof that someone has defeated the Forsaken General, one of the three Forsaken King’s guardians.”
Alicar stepped closer. Oasis followed. Even Godrick looked down at it.
They all read the same thing.
And in that moment… They understood. Leon hadn’t lied. He really had done it.
“…How?” Alicar’s voice came out almost as a whisper, his eyes wide as he turned to Leon, his disbelief now replaced by pure shock, “How is that even possible?!”
Leon shrugged again, as if it wasn’t anything worth overthinking.
“I dropped a building on top of it,” he said simply, a faint smile forming on his lips, “The [Fire Silk Spider] was there too… so they both died.”
That answer only made them stare at him again.
“…Wow,” Violet murmured quietly, clearly not expecting something like that, her expression shifting as she processed it, “That is… one way to do it.”
Godrick’s eyes suddenly lit up.
“Wait,” he said, turning toward the others as if he had just discovered something important, “Then can’t we just do the same thing to the [Forsaken Minotaur]?”
For a brief moment, the idea hung in the air. But Violet quickly shook her head.
“No,” she said firmly, her tone cutting through the brief excitement, “The general must have already been weakened for that to work, and the minotaur is far larger… its durability is on a completely different level.”
The others fell silent again. They all knew she was right.
What Leon had done wasn’t something that could be easily replicated.
It had worked once. That didn’t mean it would work again.
Even so…
“Killing the general at all is already… incredible,” Violet said after a moment, and for the first time since Leon had arrived, a small, genuine smile appeared on her face, “Good job, Leon.”
“Thanks,” Leon replied, though his expression shifted slightly as he pointed toward his torso, “I didn’t come out of it clean though.”
Their gazes followed his hand. The wound was still there.
Closed… but not completely healed. The mark remained, clear and deep.
“Before it died, that bastard stabbed me right through,” Leon added, his tone calm despite the seriousness of it.
Alicar frowned, and Violet’s expression tightened slightly.
But Oasis… She panicked.
“W-Wait!” she said quickly, already searching through her [Storage Space], her movements rushed as she pulled out a small mechanical device and placed it in front of Leon, “This is a [Healing Bot]… it works just like a potion!”
The moment the device activated, a soft green light spread outward, enveloping Leon’s body.
The effect was immediate. The wound began to close further.
Leon’s eyes widened slightly as he felt it.
’This is… better than the potion,’ he realized instantly, genuinely surprised by the effectiveness.
Oasis’ talent might not give her direct combat strength, but its utility… Was incredible.
After about a minute, the injury was completely gone.
“If it wasn’t for Oasis,” Violet said calmly, glancing at her briefly, “We wouldn’t have survived this long… just keep in mind, she can’t regrow limbs.”
Leon smirked slightly.
“Hah, the general tried that a few times,” he replied, rolling his shoulder as if testing it, “I’ll be fine.”
With that settled, Violet’s expression shifted once more, returning to its usual seriousness.
“Now that the [Forsaken General] is gone, and one of the [Mother]’s guardians is dead, this mission becomes easier,” she said, nodding slightly as she looked at the map again.
Then she paused.
“…But don’t misunderstand,” she continued, her tone lowering slightly, “That doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy.”
The room grew quiet again. Because they all knew what was coming next.
After all… They still had to face the [Mother].
