Reborn as the Genius Son of the Richest Family - Chapter 1166 Pallid faces

Hundreds, thousands, uncountable Ersatz members emerged out of nowhere. They were distinguished through the pallid, emotionless faces they had around their faces.
They were zombies. One that did whatever their leaders asked of them without any hesitation.
But strangely, these Ersatz members did absolutely nothing. One would expect them to start rioting, creating chaos and bloodshed all around New Sparta.
But no. They remained in their places, their countenance blank.
Inside their hearts was a completely different thing entirely. Their Artifices, black, glassy, like a dark iceberg plunged in darkness, were now glowing with an ominous violet light. They were pulsing, each and every single one of them beating at the same time as if they were somehow connected.
And suddenly, a shockwave emanated out of these people.
This shockwave… only those with a high Maugnetic cultivation could sense.
After all, it was a Nascent Influence. Not the one that Gourdon or Eldea had used. This one only emulated the powers of a Nascent Influence, but could never really reach up to the standards of the real thing.
For one, this Nascent Influence didn’t come from one cultivator. Instead, it came from the thousands of Ersatz members all around New Sparta, acting as some kind of signal emitter.
And as soon as this shockwave happened, the mortals in New Sparta began feeling the effects.
The blacks in their eyes started to turn dull and greyish, as if they weren’t really all that present anymore, as if their souls went somewhere else.
Thankfully, not everyone was affected.
The warm, but sharp Nascent Influence from the Heavenly Swordmistress spread around from her body, encompassing the entirety of the Colosseum and a few kilometers beyond.
This Nascent Influence cut through the Ersatz signal, dissipating it into nothingness.
Everyone shook themselves awake, wondering what had happened in their lapse of time.
“What… what happened?”
“Huh… I feel woozy.”
Mortals were still feeling weak in the mind. But the cultivators were able to pull themselves together quite easily.
Arthur looked around him, feeling that sharp feeling in the air. And immediately, he knew that Eldea had saved him and everyone else from something, something insidious.
“Swordmistress…,” Arthur said, kneeling. He was offering his sword as help.
But just as Eldea was about to respond, her head whipped upwards.
A giant, flaming violet crescent descended from the skies. It was humungous, spanning the diameter of New Sparta in its entirety.
Then, Eldea disappeared, wind blowing.
She met the apocalyptic crescent in the skies, drawing her sword. With a single slash, she cut the crescent in half.
The crescent deflected off its original trajectory, crashing down a kilometer away from New Sparta from both sides.
The ground shook tremendously, as a chasm almost deeper than a mountain appeared where the bifurcated crescents landed.
Arthur looked up, seeing the Heavenly Swordmistress facing an unknown figure above, thousands of feet in the air.
He immediately knew. This was not a fight he could help with. This encounter was dangerous even for a Nascent Spirit cultivator.
And suddenly, something crashed in the arena, sending rock chips flying in the air.
The dizzied and confused spectators could only gasp and scream in shock. Standing in the crater below was a humungous monster. Black fur with violet ends in its mane. Muscled structure. Head of a lion, body of a bear. It was the embodiment of nightmares for most.
It opened its maws and screamed, sending the lower layer of the spectators flying through to the top.
Immediately, people scrambled into a panic. However, the previous mental effects were still barring them from their full capabilities. They could only crawl away from the monstrosity before them.
Arthur frowned and faced the creature. He’d never seen it before. But it doesn’t matter. It was his duty to serve justice.
“Be calm! I will dispatch this creature!” he assured the crowd.
But even he could not pretend it was as easy as he thought. His voice trembled. After all, this monstrous creature was emanating a strength he’d only seen from his seniors.
It was stronger than him, stronger than any Body Formation cultivator.
“Nascent Spirit?!” Arthur gasped. But after a bit of inspection, he realized that this creature was not of the next realm. It was simply in the boundary between Body Formation and Nascent Spirit.
Still dangerous, but not hopeless.
Arthur summoned his Diva, a humanoid bound by chains. He lunged at the creature, cutting it straight in the head.
The creature disappeared from sight, leaving Arthur skidding into the arena as he landed.
His eyes widened. That speed. He couldn’t even see it.
Which meant… he couldn’t react.
His Sword Heart pounded with intuition as he felt something from behind. But it was too late. The lion-bear creature swiped its right foreleg at him, sending him crashing into the empty stands.
People screamed even more. Panic spread like wildfire. They tried to leave the Colosseum, only to see it blocked by some kind of invisible boundary. They only squished themselves futilely as they tried to get out.
Arthur groaned as he tried to get up. He climbed out of the rubble, body bleeding.
Before him, he saw Knights from the Order surrounding the creature with their swords and Divas.
They tried, with their formations and tactics. But they were all for naught in the face of absolute terror. The monstrous creature slapped them away with ease. A Knight found himself separated from his lower body as the creature bit him in half.
Arthur felt cold in his body. Was this fear? Terror?
The creature seemed invincible. Its strength and speed was second to none.
Was he just going to stand here and do nothing as the creature started walking up the layered stairs of the Colosseum, stalking the thousands of helpless mortal men?
It growled, eyes glistening with hunger as it looked at the terrified humans before him.
“Oh heavens! This is the end of us!”
“Knights! Save us, Knights!”
“You fool! Didn’t you see? The Knights are dead!”
And it was at this moment that the sounds of footfalls echoed through the Colosseum.
“Ahh… just when I thought I’d get to have my sleep…”
