Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 2148 2148: Coming together

“How did you find this place?”
Lupus didn’t say anything when I asked this, so I said, “I’m not holding it against you, I just want to see if you can find a place that’s similar.”
Lupus looked a bit confused at first, but then she nodded to show that this was possible.
Once she agreed to this, I saw how she did it. But even though I saw how she did it, I was still confused on what exactly she was doing.
After all, it didn’t seem to make sense that this was the way that she was finding them.
It didn’t seem like just using her nose alone should have allowed her to find all of these things.
Not to mention that I was very curious about what exactly she was sniffing out that allowed her to guide us to these places. Was it something related to the divine energy or was it something else?
Regardless of what it was, it seemed like Lupus was quite confident in guiding the way.
“Did you already have an idea of where to go before we found this place?” I couldn’t help asking Lupus as I followed her.
However, it didn’t seem like Lupus was willing to answer.
Seeing this response from her, I narrowed my eyes to look at her.
But in the end, a small sound from Joan made my expression relax.
I knew what Joan was saying, so I dropped this matter.
She was right, this wasn’t the time to be doubting each other since we were the only ones that we could rely on in this place. If I were to start casting doubt on Lupus, it was only a matter of time before cracks formed between us.
Though when I thought about it, there was a part of me that realized something else.
“I can always use the saddle if I want to know.”
However, I refrained from doing that since I didn’t want to do something like that to her. Even if I was doubtful of her, that didn’t mean that I didn’t know what would and wouldn’t cross the line.
The moment that I used the saddle in that way, there was no doubt that this would be crossing a line.
Even if she was the one that gave me the saddle, this was not the kind of use that it was given for.
It took a while, but we were able to find the next church.
The problem was that it was the same thing as the previous church.
This church wasn’t bigger than the other one, it seemed like it was just another place for normal members of this ancient civilization to congregate and pray. Which meant that this place didn’t have a stronger connection.
In fact, it looked almost the exact same as the other church.
Though looking closely, one could see that there were some differences.
The building itself was a bit different from the last church.
However, the statue that was in the center was still exactly in the same place.
The even stranger thing was that when I got close to the statue, I felt the same thing as before. So that was why I did the same thing and went behind the statue to see if there was anything hidden.
Since I already had the experience, it didn’t take me long to find the hidden compartment and the thing that was hidden there was…
“It’s another piece of cloth?”
This piece of cloth seemed just like the other piece of cloth in appearance and the amount of divine energy it possessed. It also had the same reaction as the other piece of cloth when I tried injecting divine energy into it.
Since there were no clues to collect from this, it didn’t seem like there was anything else to do here.
“Can you find another one?”
Lupus simply nodded in agreement in response to this.
It took three more churches for me to realize that we really weren’t getting anywhere like this. It seemed like there really wasn’t anything that was hiding inside of these churches.
The only thing that I found were three more pieces of cloth that were exactly the same as the ones that I had found before.
These didn’t really give me any information, but I did find one thing.
“It seems like they can combine together.”
It seemed like there was some kind of force that drew these pieces of cloth together and once they were together, it didn’t seem like they would come apart. Only when I looked at this larger piece of cloth, I couldn’t find anything off about it.
The only thing that had really changed was the fact that there was more divine energy inside of this larger piece of cloth.
“When they were destroyed by whatever it was that destroyed them, did they split this thing to hide it away?”
The only problem was that I had no idea just how big this thing originally was.
At the same time, the divine energy that was inside of this larger piece of cloth was still far from being able to compare to a proper relic.
All of these signs seemed to be pointing to the fact that there were many different pieces of this cloth that were out there.
We didn’t know just how big this place really was and how many churches there were, so it wasn’t as if I had an idea of how long it would take to find all of these pieces.
“It could be a wild goose chase since there’s no guarantee all of the pieces would have survived in the first place…”
In the end, it just didn’t seem like a reliable path to take.
“Can you see if you can find anything stronger?”
Lupus was surprised to hear this, but she eventually nodded since she knew what I was talking about.
Seeing this, I had a better idea of how her ability worked, but I didn’t say anything in the end.
The only thing that mattered now was finding some way to contact the gods.
