Chapter 2172: Making preparations

The popes looked at me with strange looks when I came out of the main chapel.

The way that they looked at me was as if they had received some kind of oracle from the gods, but they were afraid to say anything about it.

It wasn’t hard to guess that they had an idea of what happened, but it didn’t seem like they were going to stop supporting me because of it. It seemed like they were at least still going to help me deal with the forces of Destruction.

After all, it was their own lives that were at stake if they didn’t help me.

I didn’t know exactly what the gods had sent to the popes, but it was clear that they knew more than normal people should.

“I need space to prepare.” I said to them calmly after coming out.

The popes just nodded in agreement before turning around to lead the way.

It was as if they had already expected me to say this with how they led me forward.

Only when we arrived, I found that it wasn’t what I had expected.

“You need rest. You’re agitated from your ordeal and you need to calm yourself before we fight the forces of Destruction.” The pope of the Solista Religion said after bringing me to this manor.

When I saw the guards that were here, I knew that they wouldn’t let me go.

It was as if they were planning on forcing me to rest.

There was a bitter smile that appeared on my face seeing this as I didn’t know what the gods had told the popes. However, I also could tell that it wasn’t just because of that that they were doing this.

They were doing this because they were worried about me.

I had to admit that they were right about this.

Though I had come back, it wasn’t as if I had been resting properly since I had been tense about the situation with the Kite Kingdom. It was hard to sleep when I was worried about whether my family was still alive or not.

But if I wanted to have a chance of saving my family, I had to be in top condition when facing the forces of Destruction.

“I’ll get some rest.”

The popes nodded in agreement when they heard this, but the guards were left behind.

The guards weren’t placed here because they were afraid that I would do something, nor were they here because they were afraid that I might run. They were placed here to make sure that I rested like I should.

I could feel the worry that came from them, so I decided that it wasn’t the time to be doubting my allies.

It didn’t matter what the gods might have sent to the popes, for now I had to believe that they were sincerely on my side.

Without that, we really didn’t stand a chance against the forces of Destruction.

“What are you preparing?”

The popes asked this when I told them that I needed a space to prepare.

Though they had heard this before, they thought that I just meant a space to rest up which was why they had brought me to that manor and forced me to rest.

But actually, I knew that to have the edge against the forces of Destruction, I had to prepare a few things. These were things that I could only prepare now that I had gained power from the third inheritance of the God of Creation.

I didn’t actually need any materials since these were things that were created with the creation divine energy, it was just that I needed some private space to work.

So that was why they brought me to this warehouse in the end.

They could have brought me to a more secure place, but this was the place that I wanted.

It was better to be in this remote place than in a place that was guarded.

After bringing me here, I didn’t waste any time in using the creation divine energy to prepare the tools for the fight.

It was just a bit annoying seeing the popes pray on the side.

They had followed me here to see what was happening and they had started praying when I used my divine energy.

It wasn’t as if they would pray whenever someone used divine energy with a relic, but they could tell that this was different. They were the popes of these major religions for a reason, something like this was easy for them.

I just wished that they didn’t treat me like some kind of spectacle.

As for the question that they asked earlier about what I was preparing, I gave them the answer after I finished preparing it.

“Go ahead and test it.”

The popes were surprised to hear this and they looked a bit skeptical, but they still took what I offered them. Though as they were taking it, I did make sure to give them proper instructions on how to handle these things.

If they didn’t handle them properly, it would have caused a big problem.

Once they learned how to handle it properly, they were all shocked by the results.

“What is this? How could it do something like this?”

The popes all turned to look at me with shocked looks as they asked this.

Though the expression on my face was disappointment.

“It doesn’t seem like it has enough power yet. I think I have to fix a few of the parts.”

I just ignored the popes as I worked on the next batch.

After all, this was more important than answering their questions. Especially since they wouldn’t have understood the answers that I gave them.

These things I created utilized fundamentals from my past life after all, so it wasn’t as if this was something that was easy to explain.

But there was no doubting the function that they would serve when we attacked the forces of Destruction.

That just made me even more motivated.
