Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 2174: Held hostage

Chapter 2174: Held hostage
The fact that this figure was already on the horse was the thing that filled me with that bitter feeling.
“Aren’t you supposed to come at me with your first form and only go into your second form when you’re about to lose?”
That was the little complaint that I had when I saw War already in their second form, but it wasn’t as if there was anything that could be done about this. Since War was already in its second form, the only thing that I could do was face it in this form.
Only when War appeared, I could feel the pressure that came from War.
The only consolation was that this pressure was smaller than before.
It seemed like the strength increase that I obtained from the third inheritance did help to a certain extent. At the very least, it wasn’t as if War was completely crushing me with the aura that it released.
Not to mention that this was when War was in its second form.
“It’s possible.”
That was the only thing that I could think when I felt this difference, but I also knew that it would be hard for me to actually go against War since I was still weaker than it.
Once War appeared, it seemed like it didn’t care at all about the crowd that was gathered. It didn’t even seem to care about the residual divine energy that was left behind by those divine grenades.
Though when one looked closely, they could see that War was being affected by the residual divine energy. There were traces of the armour that War wore that seemed to be purified by the divine energy.
It was very small, but it did have an effect.
Once War was standing in front of me, it suddenly said, “You’re finally back, I’ve been waiting for you. It was my mistake letting you escape last time.”
A deep frown appeared on my face hearing this, but I just simply said, “You’re the one that sent me away in the first place, so how could it be considered a mistake?”
War didn’t fall for this provocation as it looked right at me with those cold and deep black eyes. It seemed like it was trying to figure something out, as if it had noticed something all of a sudden.
But then War said, “It was worth it holding these people hostage. If I didn’t do that, I would have no idea how to find you.”
Holding them hostage?
I was caught off guard by these words, but it did seem to explain War’s actions.
There was no reason for War to spare the people in the capital, not to mention that Dorothy, the one that the forces of Destruction wanted was there.
I had thought that it had something to do with awakening Dorothy, but that didn’t make sense since there was nothing that they could have done to actually do that. At worst, they might have been able to make her go on a rampage, which wouldn’t have been beneficial to them.
But if they were holding them as hostages to lure me back…
The only thing that was confusing was that I didn’t think that I was that important for War to worry about me like this. Even if I had become stronger, it really didn’t seem like I was on the same level as War.
If I wasn’t even able to reach the same level as War, then what about Death behind War?
It just didn’t seem to make sense that they would be that worried about me.
But regardless, it meant that the people in the capital were safe for now.
War had no reason to lie to me like this since lying to me would actually make me leave. It was only the truth that would make me stay since I would want to save the people in the capital.
Instead of answering War, I just watched it and waited for it to act.
There had to be a reason for War to say all of this, it had to be preparing for something.
It was just that it didn’t seem like War was preparing anything as it continued looking at me. The way that War looked at me the entire time was strange, as if it was sizing me up.
But then all of a sudden, I realized what it was that War had been waiting for.
There was this sensation that felt like the space around me had frozen.
It was this strange sensation and I didn’t know how War had achieved it, I just knew that it had done something to the space around us.
“Now you’re trapped. You can’t escape like last time.” War suddenly said with a laugh.
This confirmed that whatever this sensation was, it came from something that War did.
Though I did have to question how the power of Destruction was able to do something like this.
This felt like it was related to space and time laws, so it didn’t feel like the domain of the power of Destruction.
“It’s Destruction Energy being used to create warps in space time. It’s not a complete breakdown, but a semi breakdown that makes it too unstable to warp.”
I didn’t know how I was able to figure this out, but I was able to figure it out in the end.
Regardless of what it was, it wasn’t as if I would run away since my family was still being held hostage. The only thing that I could do now was fight against War and try to save my family.
The main thing was clearing a path for the people of the capital to run.
“Boom, boom, boom.”
We hadn’t used all of our divine grenades, some of them had been saved and brought to the side that War didn’t appear in.
Once those divine grenades appeared, a path was cleared from the capital to the outside world.
But it didn’t seem like War cared about this at all.
