Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure - Chapter 2179: They weren’t strong

Chapter 2179: They weren’t strong
Once that corruption energy soldier fell, it wasn’t as if the entire domain collapsed since there were still other corruption energy soldiers that were there.
It was just that there was a gap that we were able to exploit.
A structure wasn’t as sturdy when it was missing part of its foundation.
Which was why Lupus and I were able to charge out of the domain in the end.
But that wasn’t the most important thing.
The fact that we were able to charge out meant that we had discovered something quite interesting about this array.
It was that while the overall array itself was powerful, the individual corruption energy soldiers that were summoned by War weren’t that strong. It made sense since they were corruption energy soldiers that had been formed with corruption energy from the surrounding corruption energy monsters.
They certainly weren’t that powerful and they wouldn’t suddenly become much more powerful after receiving this buff from being in War’s domain.
But it was a fact that these things were still simple corruption energy monsters.
So it was easy for me to take care of them since I was already much stronger compared to before.
“We’ll have to target the nodes before we take down this domain.”
Lupus agreed with me and started moving even before I gave the order.
However, there was no need for us to say anything when we already knew what we had to do.
With the speed that we had, there was nothing that could be done by the corruption energy soldiers.
Even if War wanted to help the corruption energy soldiers, it wasn’t as if it was fast enough to do so. The fact that these corruption energy soldiers were nodes for its domain meant that it had no choice but to protect them.
The more time that passed, the more it felt like War’s domain was going to collapse at any moment.
However, I couldn’t help feeling that there was something wrong with all of this.
In fact, it felt like War was even weaker than before with how it had to try its best to protect the corruption energy soldiers.
It really didn’t feel like this was all that War’s domain had to offer, but it wasn’t as if I could stop. If I stopped and allowed War’s domain to surround me, then it would be hard for me to do anything against it if I was surrounded by it again.
Even when more and more of its corruption energy soldiers were being purified, it didn’t seem like War cared at all.
The fact that War was completely unbothered by these corruption energy soldiers disappearing became more and more concerning. It was almost as if it was building up to something…
In the end, it turned out that I was right about this.
After the corruption energy soldiers continued dying like this, they eventually all disappeared. But even though they disappeared, it didn’t seem like War cared at all that they were gone.
With the way that War acted, it was as if it was happy to see them disappear.
At the same time, War seemed to gather even more corruption energy before creating new corruption energy soldiers around itself.
“They’re stronger this time…” I muttered to myself when I tried striking down one of the corruption energy soldiers. This time, it actually took two hits for me to purify this one corruption energy soldier.
It wasn’t just one single corruption energy soldier that got stronger, it was all of them that had become stronger at the same time.
Seeing them like this, I was slowly understanding the attribute of War’s domain.
In fact, it was even in War’s name…
“War is an endless cycle of slaughter and death, but it becomes stronger as more and more people die. So these corruption energy soldiers were supposed to die…they’re nothing more than distractions. No, it’s not that they’re distractions, they’re a way for the domain to become stronger.”
The more the corruption energy soldiers died, the stronger that War’s domain became.
So if I wanted to stop War’s domain, I had to strike the source.
The problem now was that I had no idea how strong War was…
“It was already strong before this, but now that I’ve purified some of the corruption energy soldiers, it should be even stronger.”
This was my first time dealing with an enemy that became stronger the more that I tried hurting it. It seemed like there really was no easy way to deal with War.
“So you’ve figured it out.” War said in a calm voice when it saw that I stopped attacking the corruption energy soldiers.
A bitter feeling filled me when I heard this, but I chose to ignore War as I continued dodging the attacks that it threw at me. Even if I stopped attacking the corruption energy soldiers, it wasn’t as if they would stop attacking me.
If it wasn’t for the fact that I was faster than them, then it might have been dangerous.
Though I could also tell that the corruption energy soldiers were a bit faster after the second batch had been summoned.
In the end, I had no choice but to pull away from War.
Though I had figured out the essence of its domain, it wasn’t as if I could strike at War either.
When I had tried attacking War earlier, all that it had done was thrown the corruption energy soldiers in the way of the attack. I had no choice but to divert the attack before it could hit the corruption energy soldiers.
“It doesn’t lose energy from fighting and it has endless human shields, how am I supposed to fight this thing?” I muttered under my breath.
If only I could use my domain, I could directly create divine energy creations where War was.
But if I could use my domain against War, it would mean that I outclassed it and I wouldn’t struggle against it.
This really was a battle that didn’t seem to have a solution…
