Wasteland: I Awakened A Plant System - Chapter 121: Carol Denvers Powers

Chapter 121: Carol Denvers Powers
After everyone rested and their stamina was boosted up by the Healer Sprout, Sana and Kavya, the ninth wave appeared.
This time the Necrotic Fog turned extremely dense and aggressive, constantly shifting and hiding enemies within its thick black-purple mist.
From the portals poured 20,000 Normal Zombies, 4,000 Elite Zombies, 150 Apex Zombies, and 5 Boss Zombie Wall Breakers.
Seeing five Wall Breakers appear at once, Isha turned to Carol and said firmly, “Since you have arrived here, help us.”
Carol looked at her with a teasing smile and asked, “Will you let me take Vikram with me?”
Instead of replying, Isha just stared at her silently.
“Well, we shall talk about this later,” Carol said with a light shrug. Then she jumped down from the wall together with Isha and the others.
There was nothing much to say about the normal and Elite Zombies. With Pooja and the Fire Mage Sprout’s Ember Meteor, they were all wiped out so easily that it felt like cleaning trash from the battlefield. The massive explosion turned thousands of zombies into ash in moments.
Now only the 150 Apex Zombies and the 5 Boss Wall Breakers remained.
“Let’s handle all of the Bosses,” Carol said to Isha. “You all just focus on the Apex Zombies.”
“Okay,” Isha nodded. She knew Carol wanted to show off her powers.
With Isha and the Water Mage Sprout also moving to fight the Apex Zombies, there was nothing left to worry about. All 150 Apex Zombies were cleared in just 10 to 15 minutes.
Now, only the battle against the 5 Boss Wall Breakers was left, and everyone’s focus shifted completely to that fight.
The five Wall Breakers massive launcher arms are already glowing with charging rockets. Their distorted laughter echoed across the battlefield, “Khrr… HA… HA… HA…!!” as they locked onto the small figure walking toward them.
Carol Danvers simply walked, calm and graceful, as if taking a leisurely stroll through a garden.
On the wall, the atmosphere became tense with anticipation.
Sana leaned forward, gripping the stone railing tightly. “She’s really going to fight all five by herself?”
Kavya’s eyes were wide with excitement and nervousness. “Five Boss Zombies… even Captain Isha usually needs help with one or two. Is Carol really that strong?”
Ayesha crossed her arms, trying to look calm but failing to hide her curiosity. “This is an SS-rank awakener. We should watch carefully. Don’t blink.”
Rohit let out a low whistle. “If she pulls this off, that’s insane…”
Deepak adjusted his stance, gaze locked on the battlefield. “No… don’t look away. This kind of fight… you won’t see twice.”
Vikrant’s fists tightened unconsciously. “…Let’s see what true control looks like.”
Even Vikram stared without blinking. “…Queen of Desires…” he murmured softly. “…show me.”
Pooja, Imran, Raghav, and the others stood in silence, all eyes fixed on the lone figure walking toward the five massive Wall Breakers.
Even Isha watched silently, arms crossed, giving Carol the stage she clearly wanted.
The Wall Breakers didn’t hesitate. All five launchers roared at once.
“BOOOOOOM!!! BOOOOOOM!!! BOOOOOOM!!! BOOOOOOM!!! BOOOOOOM!!!”
Five high-explosive rockets tore through the dense Necrotic Fog, streaking straight toward Carol with devastating force.
From the wall, everyone tensed.
“CAROL—!” Sana almost shouted.
Carol didn’t move, didn’t dodge. She didn’t raise a hand. She simply looked at them, her golden eyes glowing faintly behind the purple mask.
She simply continued walking forward casually, as if the incoming rockets were nothing more than a light breeze.
“…How boring,” she whispered.
The rockets reached her, and passed straight through her body like she was made of smoke.
“BOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!”
Explosions erupted violently behind her. The Wall Breakers had hit each other.
Each one had perfectly targeted another under Carol’s influence. Their own rockets had struck their allies with full force, causing massive explosions that cracked armor and sent black smoke rising into the fog.
From the wall, everyone’s eyes widened in disbelief.
“They… they shot each other?” Sana whispered, stunned.
Kavya covered her mouth. “They thought they were targeting her… but they hit their own teammates.”
Even Isha’s expression changed slightly, a mix of surprise and quiet approval.
When the smoke and dust from the explosions finally cleared, all five Wall Breakers were in terrible condition. Their armor was cracked and scorched, chunks of rotten flesh were missing, and dark ichor leaked from multiple wounds. One of them had lost part of its launcher arm, another had a deep gash across its chest.
But they were still standing.
The Wall Breakers roared in pain and confusion. Their bodies began to regenerate, flesh knitting together, armor slowly reforming. Within moments, they were recovering, though not as quickly as before.
Then, all five turned their glowing eyes back toward Carol.
She was still walking forward casually, completely unharmed, as if nothing had happened.
The Wall Breakers roared louder, their rage reaching a new peak. They adjusted their aim once again, launchers glowing brighter as they prepared a second, even more powerful volley.
Carol didn’t stop. She didn’t speed up. She simply continued her calm, unhurried walk toward them, her golden eyes glowing faintly behind the purple mask.
“…Pathetic,” she murmured softly.
The five Wall Breakers fired again.
“BOOOOOOM!!! BOOOOOOM!!! BOOOOOOM!!! BOOOOOOM!!! BOOOOOOM!!!”
Another barrage of rockets screamed toward her.
But once more, the rockets passed straight through Carol’s body, and struck the Wall Breakers standing behind her.
“BOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!”
A second round of devastating explosions rocked the battlefield. This time the damage was even worse. Armor shattered, limbs were blown off, and one Wall Breaker’s launcher was completely destroyed in the blast.
Carol kept walking forward, untouched, as the five Boss Zombies roared in fury and pain, their bodies smoking and broken, yet still stubbornly regenerating.
On the wall, the silence was absolute.
No one could look away.
“Perception control,” Carol said softly, her voice heard clearly across the battlefield. “You don’t see reality. You see only what I allow you to see.”
But then, one of the Wall Breakers, the largest and most heavily armored one, suddenly shook its head violently. Its eyes flickered, clearing for a brief moment. It roared louder than before, breaking free from Carol’s illusion through sheer rage and willpower.
“GRRRRRAAAAAHHH!!!”
It turned its remaining launcher directly toward Carol, energy surging as it prepared to fire at point-blank range.
From the wall, Vikram’s eyes narrowed. “One broke free…”
Carol stopped walking. She tilted her head slightly, golden eyes narrowing behind the purple mask.
“…Oh? You actually resisted.”
The freed Wall Breaker didn’t hesitate. It roared and fired its rocket straight at her from less than twenty meters away.
BOOOOOOM!!!
The rocket exploded right in front of Carol with tremendous force.
But once again, the explosion passed through her like she was made of mist. The real blast hit the other Wall Breakers who were still trapped in her illusion, causing even more self-damage.
The freed Wall Breaker roared in frustration. It charged forward, raising its massive fist to crush her directly, with all its remaining strength.
Carol didn’t move. She simply looked into its eyes, and raised one hand slightly, “…Stop.”
The Wall Breaker froze. Its fist stopped inches from her face, its entire body trembling violently.
Inside its mind, Carol flooded it with overwhelming, suicidal desire, the desire to destroy itself, to end its own miserable existence, to obey her completely.
The monster’s body began to shake uncontrollably.
“CRRRRRRACK—!!!”
Its own arm twisted violently and slammed into its own chest with brutal force, caving in its armor and crushing its core.
Carol placed a single finger gently on its forehead.
“…Sleep.”
The Wall Breaker’s eyes rolled back. Its body collapsed like a broken puppet, lifeless before it even hit the ground.
The remaining four were still trapped in her illusions, still destroying each other.
Carol turned slightly and whispered again.
“…Enough.”
All four Wall Breakers suddenly stopped moving. Their bodies trembled as Carol’s full power washed over them.
Then they turned on each other with renewed, suicidal fury. Rockets fired at point-blank range. Fists crushed skulls. Armor shattered. Black blood and rotten flesh sprayed everywhere.
“BOOOOOOM!!! CRRRRACK—!! BOOOOOOM!!!”
One by one, they tore themselves apart under her absolute mind control.
The second Wall Breaker’s head was blown off by its own ally’s rocket.
The third had its chest caved in by a comrade’s fist.
The fourth tried to resist one last time, but Carol simply looked at it. It dropped its launcher and punched straight through its own throat.
The last one stood alone, heavily damaged and barely functioning. Carol walked up to it slowly.
“…Pathetic.”
She placed a single finger on its forehead.
Its body froze completely. Then cracks spread across its entire form like breaking glass.
“CRRRRRRRACK—!!”
It shattered apart and collapsed into pieces. Five Boss Wall Breakers eliminated. And not a single scratch appeared on Carol.
She exhaled softly, dusted her hands, and turned back toward the wall with a bored expression.
“…That was boring.”
—
On the wall, there was complete silence.
No one could speak. They had just witnessed five Boss Zombies, each capable of destroying an entire defense line, being toyed with and dismantled without Carol even needing to throw a single real punch.
Sana’s mouth was slightly open, her eyes wide with disbelief. “She… she didn’t even move…”
Kavya was breathing heavily, clearly shaken. “Five of them… and she made them kill each other… just by looking at them?”
Ayesha uncrossed her arms slowly, her usual confidence replaced by quiet awe. “That’s the power of an SS-rank awakener… no, that’s the Empress of Desires.”
Imran shook his head slowly. “We struggled so much against even one… and she handled five like they were nothing.”
Raghav let out a shaky breath. “I don’t think I’ll ever forget this.”
Pooja, who had been watching with crossed arms, finally spoke. “Damn… that was on another level.”
Even Deepak, usually quiet, murmured, “Mind control that strong… it’s terrifying.”
Vikram stood completely still, staring at Carol as she walked back toward the wall.
In his mind, something stirred. A strong, primal desire. Not because of her automated charm field. Not because of any illusion or influence.
This time, it was purely his own. He wanted her.
From her mesmerizing beauty and confident stride, to her voluptuous figure and overwhelming power, he wanted all of it.
He wanted to bend her down, take her from behind, make her moan his name while she submitted completely. He wanted that powerful woman to kneel in front of him, to belong to him, to be his alone.
As his own powers grew stronger, his desires were also growing bolder, darker, and harder to suppress.
Vikram clenched his fists slightly, forcing himself to calm down. He knew this wasn’t the time. But the image refused to leave his mind.
Carol finally reached the wall and jumped up gracefully, landing lightly beside Isha. She glanced at Vikram for a brief moment, her golden eyes behind the mask seeming to notice something. A faint, knowing smile appeared on her lips, though no one else saw it.
Isha looked at Carol with a mix of respect and caution. “Not bad.”
Carol shrugged lightly. “It was boring. They broke too easily.”
The others on the wall were still trying to process what they had just seen. The ninth wave was over, and the battlefield was finally quiet.
But everyone knew the tenth and final wave was coming soon.
And after what they had just witnessed, no one was sure what to expect anymore.
