Chapter 1429: Sneaking out in the night

“Get ready, it’s time to go.”

Lin Fan was caught off guard by Ye Qing Huan suddenly saying this since it was the middle of the night, but it wasn’t as if he wasn’t ready for this.

He already knew that it would only be a matter of time before this came.

He could see that the other core disciples were almost afraid of her.

The other thing that he noticed was that there were no elders at all.

Even when they convened with other groups, there wasn’t a single elder that was here.

It was as if all of the elders had come to an agreement that they wouldn’t show themselves. That or they had all gone to a different place from the core disciples.

With the cloaks on, they moved through the night without a single sound.

This cloak was clearly a high level artifact that allowed them to move without a single trace.

If Lin Fan could get this and bring it back to the Love Sect or the Mu Empire…

But then again, it wasn’t as if they would ever allow him to take these things away with him. The only reason that he had been allowed to use it now was because this was an important matter for the Heavenly Demon Sect.

Only this time, that group was much larger and they didn’t approach them.

Seeing them, he knew that they were getting close.

Yet the one thing that he noticed with the groups from the righteous sects was that they didn’t have any elders either. It seemed like all of the elders had reached some kind of agreement to not show themselves.

Once things reached a certain level, there was no doubt that the elders would reveal themselves and take action. So for now, it seems like the disciples were allowed to lead the way.

“Are they just using us to explore and then they’ll swoop in when the real treasures appear?”

That seemed like the most likely reason that they were doing this, but Lin Fan had no idea if that was the case.

Right now, that didn’t matter since they were on the cusp of entering the Dao Sect ruins.

From the map that Ye Qing Huan gave him of the surrounding area and the map that he had of the Dao Sect ruins, he already knew that they were close. The only thing that he was wondering about was how they would enter the Dao Sect ruins.

Maps only gave so much information and it wasn’t as if it would show him what the entrance looked like.

In the end, it turned out to be something cliche.

Though he had already been expecting this to be the case, seeing it for himself was a different story. It felt like a bit of a letdown considering what the Dao Sect had been in the past.

However, it wasn’t as if he let his guard down when he saw this.

In fact, it was at that moment that they made their move.

There was only so much that could be hidden since there was only a single entrance, which was why it would have been hard for the Heavenly Demon Sect group to sneak in.

Which was why their guards weren’t as up as they should have been.

Lin Fan went with Ye Qing Huan, but they were the only ones that moved together. The other core disciples of the Heavenly Demon Sect all spread out and scattered out amongst the righteous sect disciples.

But of course, there were some that stayed behind since they couldn’t all go along.

They were the second group that would go in with the second group of the righteous sect disciples. After all, the opening was only so big and there was only so much space for them.

After entering the cave, it didn’t seem like there was anything special about this place.

It looked like any regular cave with how empty it was, but there was a trace of something in the air that made it feel different as well. It was as if there was some kind of ancient feel to this whole place.

After a while, they arrived at the destination that they came here for.

Though looking at it, it seemed like a dead end.

There wasn’t anything that was here that one could see with the naked eye, there was just this strange feeling in the air.

A few of the core disciples stepped forward while everyone else waited.

From their appearances, it seemed like they were the ones that were in charge of the other disciples. It seemed like they were top of the core disciples from the righteous sects, similar to how Ye Qing Huan led the core disciples of the Heavenly Demon Sect.

After coming forward, they moved away from each other without even looking at each other.

It was only after they reached a certain point that they suddenly turned around.

The way that they looked at each other like this showed that they were forming some kind of array between them.

Then when they suddenly stabbed these boards into the ground, it was clear that it was some kind of array.

Those boards that they stabbed into the ground turned out to be keys that activated the points that formed the array. After they activated the array, they suddenly started to glow as if they were powering it.

However, no one cared about the boards at all as they were focused on the array on the ground.

Without a word, the leaders of the core disciples walked right into the array and disappeared.

It didn’t take long for the others to come forward and also step into the array.
