Chapter 316: Girlfriend!?

Hearing Zhou Yue introduce herself, Su Yuqing and the other two quickly followed suit.

"Xiaoxiao, Yuqing, Xiaoya! Great! I’ve got it!" Zhou Yue clapped her hands, her gaze immediately locking onto the remaining top bunk on the right side, near the balcony. "So that one’s my turf, huh?"

She didn’t seem to mind that the bunk was near the bathroom at all. Instead, she cheerfully pulled a small box full of cleaning supplies out of her suitcase and immediately started cleaning her bed. Seeing this, the other three pitched in to help.

Zhou Yue was very moved by this. She smiled at the three of them and said, "I love you guys, my new sisters! Thank you so much."

The others couldn’t help but laugh at her words. Zhou Yue was certainly an interesting character.

With her bed clean, Zhou Yue then opened her expensive-looking suitcase. The contents once again defied everyone’s expectations: half of the clothes were from expensive luxury brands, but the other half had the distinct look of cheap, street-stall goods, all stuffed together in a messy jumble.

Mixed in with them were all sorts of snacks, a few pairs of socks with cartoon patterns, and a Nintendo Switch.

The first thing she pulled out wasn’t skincare products, but a large bag of Ferrero Rocher chocolates.

"Here, here, don’t be shy! My mom packed these. Said it was to build roommate rapport! Share half on meeting!" She was a natural at making friends, stuffing the chocolates into the hands of Lin Xiaoxiao, who was closest to her. Then she grabbed a handful each for Su Yuqing and Zhao Ya, not even leaving out Lin Xiaoxiao’s mother on the balcony. "You have some too, ma’am! Don’t be shy! In this weather, this stuff won’t last long. We have to eat it quickly."

As Zhou Yue generously handed out the chocolates, the dorm room was instantly filled with a sweet fragrance and cheerful laughter.

Lin Xiaoxiao’s mom couldn’t refuse her enthusiasm and accepted with a smile. She thought that although the girl seemed to come from a very wealthy family, she didn’t put on any airs at all, which was truly rare.

Riding the wave of good cheer, Zhou Yue continued to pull her eclectic "belongings" from her suitcase, her mouth never stopping. "I’m telling you guys, I’m starving! Climbing all those stairs took a lot out of me. As soon as I’m done here, let’s all go out for a big meal. Order whatever you want, my treat! I looked up some guides for the area around campus. There’s a hot pot place that’s supposed to be incredible!"

"Oh, we couldn’t let you do that. It would be too much for you to spend." Although tempted, Lin Xiaoxiao made a polite refusal.

"Nonsense! What’s the big deal? You guys even helped me clean my bed! Good friends don’t worry about things like that." Zhou Yue waved her hand dismissively. "It’s settled! Ma’am, would you like to join us?"

"Oh no, I couldn’t. You young ladies have your own gathering. I should be going anyway. Xiaoxiao’s dad is still waiting downstairs." Lin Xiaoxiao’s mom quickly waved her hands. Seeing that all of her daughter’s roommates were so easy to get along with, she felt much more at ease.

She gave Lin Xiaoxiao a few more words of advice and then left with a smile.

After a bit more bustling about, Zhou Yue’s bed and desk were finally in some semblance of order.

She let out a long sigh of relief and clapped her hands. "All set! Let’s get ready to go, ladies!"

Su Yuqing smiled and glanced subconsciously at the building across from them again.

Chen Mo was standing on his balcony, stretching his shoulders a bit.

Their eyes met, and they shared a smile.

Su Yuqing picked up her phone and sent him a message: "We’re almost done unpacking. Our new roommate, Yueyue, wants to treat the whole dorm to dinner."

"Yueyue?" Chen Mo was a bit surprised to see the name.

"Haha, not our Yuanyuan. This is a new Yueyue," Su Yuqing typed back with a smile.

"I was planning to take you out for a nice meal after you finished unpacking. But since your roommate has made plans, you should go with them first. It’ll be a good chance to get to know each other."

As Su Yuqing looked at the message, wondering how to reply, Lin Xiaoxiao sidled up next to her, her eyes sparkling with a teasing smile. "Ooh, reporting to the guy in the building across the way already? How about it? Want to ask your boyfriend and his friends to come along? We’re all just going out to eat. The more, the merrier!"

"Boyfriend?" Zhou Yue moved closer, surprised. "Yuqing, you just got to school and you already found a boyfriend? That was fast."

"No, no, her boyfriend tested into the same school with her," Lin Xiaoxiao explained with a laugh.

"Oh, is that so? You two must be a real power couple then," Zhou Yue said with a wide grin. "But your boyfriend is really lucky to have found such a beautiful girlfriend."

In Zhou Yue’s mind, guys who were good students were usually the type who wore glasses and didn’t care about their appearance, so she didn’t imagine Su Yuqing’s boyfriend would be very handsome.

But from her perspective, as long as a man was talented, that was enough. She didn’t place much importance on a guy’s looks.

Su Yuqing felt a little embarrassed by Zhou Yue’s praise.

"Since your boyfriend is at this school too, this is the perfect chance for a mixer! Tell your boyfriend to bring his roommates along. The four of us girls can’t eat that much anyway. Having four more guys would be just right. We can order more food. It’s my treat, so just tell them to come," Zhou Yue said with a carefree laugh.

"Wouldn’t that be a little... much?" Su Yuqing hesitated.

"What’s not to like? We’re all students. There’s nothing wrong with getting to know each other early. Isn’t this how you make new friends in college?" Zhou Yue said, unfazed.

Hearing this, Lin Xiaoxiao’s interest was piqued. "Yeah, yeah! We’re all students, and we live in opposite buildings. It’s a great idea for us to all get to know each other!"

Zhao Ya also nodded lightly in agreement.

"If you’re too shy to ask, I’ll do it!" Zhou Yue reached out and took Su Yuqing’s phone, her outgoing and proactive personality on full display.

"My roommate is treating and wants to have a get-together. Does your dorm want to come along? We can make it a mixer and all get to know each other."

After Zhou Yue sent the message, Su Yuqing took her phone back and, a little embarrassed, quickly added another line: "It’s totally fine to say no if it’s inconvenient!"

Seeing the message Su Yuqing added, the other three couldn’t help but look at her and smile, thinking how considerate she was of her boyfriend’s feelings.

Across the way in Room 504, Chen Mo saw the messages and raised an eyebrow in surprise. He turned to his three roommates, who had just collapsed into their chairs, and said, "Guys, my girlfriend says her dorm is going out for a meal and they’re inviting us to come along. Her new roommate is treating."

"For real?!" Wang Lan was the first to shoot up, instantly energized.

But he quickly noticed a key detail he’d missed.

"Wait a minute—girlfriend?!"

"Girlfriend?!" In an instant, the other two roommates also turned to look at Chen Mo, their faces filled with surprise.
