One Piece : I Became a Monster Just by Eating
Chapter 84 Vivi's Dark History
Early the next morning, after eating breakfast, everyone set out for Whiskey Peak.
As the Riding the Wind for Ten Thousand Miles gradually approached Whiskey Peak, the island’s silhouette became clearer in the morning mist.
The entire island seemed to be composed of giant cacti piercing the sky.
The Riding the Wind for Ten Thousand Miles slowly sailed into the inland river of Whiskey Peak.
“What a strange island. Are there really people here?”
Tashigi wiped her glasses, trying to see Whiskey Peak, which was shrouded in the morning mist.
Nami looked at the eternal pose in her hand and confirmed once more, “This is indeed Whiskey Peak.”
“The logbook says there’s a Bounty Hunter town here.”
“Maybe we’ll see it if we go a bit further.”
Meanwhile, on the slopes of both banks of the river, dark figures quietly poked their heads out.
Holding binoculars, their gazes were fixed like hawks on the slowly entering Riding the Wind for Ten Thousand Miles.
“Boss, this ship doesn’t look simple.”
A Bounty Hunter wearing a cowboy hat said in a low voice.
The man called Boss grinned, revealing a gold tooth.
“I don’t care where they’re from; once they enter Whiskey Peak, they’re our prey.”
“Get the brothers ready, and follow the old rules.”
On the river, Nami suddenly frowned.
“Strange, it’s too quiet here.”
She looked around, keenly sensing an unusual atmosphere.
Nojiko gripped the hilt of the sword at her waist.
“I feel it too; someone is watching us.”
Just then, a burst of cheerful music suddenly came from both banks.
The morning mist faded, and hundreds of brightly dressed townspeople waved handkerchiefs on both sides of the river, shouting enthusiastically:
“Welcome to Whiskey Peak!”
Nojiko looked at Huiye in confusion.
“Is this really a Bounty Hunter town?”
“It’s not what I imagined.”
The other girls also looked at the crowds on both banks in surprise.
“They’re so enthusiastic…”
Kaya murmured as she watched the crowd waving colorful flags and beating drums.
Huiye narrowed his eyes, a meaningful smile playing at the corners of his mouth.
“Yes, truly enthusiastic… perhaps a bit too much.”
“Everyone, be careful. The logbook states that Whiskey Peak is a Bounty Hunter town. Although I don’t know why it’s like this, we should still pay attention.”
Although Nami was puzzled, she still spoke up to remind them.
“Nami is right. Everyone, stay safe. These people are likely Bounty Hunters in disguise.”
“Our main goal for landing this time is to gather information and see if there are eternal poses for other islands.”
“Nami, Kaya, and Makino will stay on the ship later to prevent any rats from sneaking aboard and stealing our treasure.”
“I’ll take the others onto the island.”
Following Huiye’s arrangements, everyone nodded in agreement.
The Riding the Wind for Ten Thousand Miles slowly docked. A red carpet had already been laid out on the pier, and the townspeople swarmed forward with exaggerated smiles on their faces.
A middle-aged man holding a saxophone and wearing his hair in a “cinnamon roll” style stepped forward.
“Heroes from the sea who have come from afar, welcome to Whiskey Peak!”
“I am Mayor Igaram. Please allow us to host a grand welcome banquet for you!”
Huiye smiled slightly, calmly observing his surroundings.
He noticed that although the townspeople appeared enthusiastic, their eyes would occasionally dart toward the Riding the Wind for Ten Thousand Miles, with greed hidden in their depths.
Dezaya quietly leaned in toward Huiye and whispered.
“These people definitely have problems. Their smiles are too fake.”
“Let’s play along for now and see what tricks they’re trying to pull.”
Huiye responded in a low voice, then spoke loudly to the Mayor.
“Then we thank the Mayor for his kindness. We also happened to want to taste the specialties of Whiskey Peak.”
Hearing this, the Mayor’s smile grew even brighter, and he quickly stepped aside to lead the way.
“Please follow me; the banquet is already prepared!”
The group followed the Mayor toward the center of town. The houses along the streets were colorfully decorated, but upon closer inspection, figures could be seen moving behind many windows.
Nojiko and Tashigi gripped their sword hilts, warily observing their surroundings.
Honey Queen took Huiye’s arm, leaning against him with feigned intimacy, but whispered in his ear.
“There are people lying in ambush in those houses. It seems this place is indeed not as simple as it appears.”
Huiye nodded slightly, his face still maintaining a composed smile.
Soon, they were led to a magnificently decorated hall, where the long tables were laden with abundant food and fine wine.
The Mayor enthusiastically invited everyone to sit.
“Please enjoy yourselves! This is the most famous food and wine of our Whiskey Peak!”
Just as Huiye and the others sat down, a clear and pleasant voice came from the side door.
A blue-haired girl wearing a dance skirt and a high ponytail swayed her body as she walked out from the side door.
“Welcome to the Town of Wine and Music! Whiskey Peak~”
“Now, let me perform a welcome dance for everyone to liven things up!”
Seeing Princess Vivi in this state, the corner of Huiye’s mouth twitched slightly.
“This is Whiskey Peak’s most popular dancer, Miss Wednesday!”
Mayor Igaram introduced her loudly, a hint of cunning flashing in his eyes.
After Vivi came out, the other “townspeople” in the room cooperated by cheering, pushing the lively atmosphere to its peak.
“Alluring Dance~”
As cheerful music began to play, Vivi started to sway her hips in front of Huiye and the others.
Huiye watched Vivi’s dance without blinking. At this moment, he really wanted to go back to the ship to get the visual den den mushi and record this dark history of Vivi’s.
Beside him, Honey Queen, seeing Huiye’s rapt attention, quietly leaned in.
“Master~”
“She doesn’t dance as well as I do~”
“If Master likes watching dancing, I can dance for you privately tonight~”
Honey Queen breathed softly into Huiye’s ear, her fingertips lightly brushing his arm.
Huiye chuckled and pinched her cheek, whispering in her ear, “Seize the chance to enjoy it. This is a princess of a nation dancing for us; you won’t get this chance again~”
Honey Queen’s eyes widened upon hearing this.
“Shh~”
Huiye pressed his finger against Honey Queen’s lips, signaling her not to make a sound.
By now, Vivi’s dance steps had become increasingly passionate and unrestrained, her skirt blooming like petals, drawing bursts of cheers from the surrounding “townspeople.”
Tashigi and Nojiko on the left glanced at each other and leaned closer to Huiye at the same time.
“This dancer is so bad~”
“Can she really confuse an enemy like this?”
The straightforward Tashigi nudged Huiye and whispered a complaint.
Nojiko nodded in agreement.
“She doesn’t even dance as well as my subordinates.”
Dezaya couldn’t help but chime in with a complaint of her own.
“Honored guests, why aren’t you drinking?”
“This is a special brew of our Whiskey Peak; it would be a pity not to taste it~”
Mayor Igaram approached with a wine glass, his face full of smiles.
