One Piece : I Became a Monster Just by Eating
Chapter 87 Heading to Alabasta
After lunch, everyone stopped discussing Crocodile.
Although the title of the Seven Warlords of the Sea was prestigious, the girls had a blind trust in Kaguya, believing he could resolve any difficulty.
Aside from the Bounty Hunter town at the foot of the mountain, Whiskey Peak consisted entirely of giant cactus-shaped peaks, with nothing much worth visiting.
So for the next three days, everyone spent their time on the ship or in town, sparring and training.
Once those defeated Bounty Hunters woke up, they were all very well-behaved, none of them trying to be clever and escape.
This morning, Kaguya had just climbed out of the Nami Sisters’ gentle embrace when he heard Tashigi’s call coming from outside the window.
“Kaguya, Princess Vivi is here.”
Kaguya threw on a coat and walked onto the deck, only to see Vivi standing at the pier, her long white dress fluttering gently in the wind.
Beside her stood a giant Karoo, curiously looking over the Longteng Wanli.
“Quack!”
Karoo patted the somewhat dazed Vivi beside him.
Vivi, her face slightly pale, snapped back to her senses. Seeing Kaguya’s figure appear at the ship’s railing, a flicker of complex emotion flashed in her eyes.
She took a deep breath, trying her best to maintain her elegant princess-like demeanor.
“Come up and let’s talk.”
Kaguya lowered the gangway and smiled as he reached out his hand to her, making a gesture of invitation.
Vivi nodded gently, lifted her skirt, and stepped onto the gangway, with Karoo following closely behind her.
In the lounge, Makino poured two glasses of juice and considerately withdrew, leaving Kaguya and Vivi sitting across from each other.
“Has Her Highness finished her investigation?”
Hearing this, Vivi’s expression turned even more grim.
“No, the people my father sent to Rainbase have all disappeared without a trace.
Even though nothing was found… the more it’s like this, the more it proves Crocodile is hiding something.”
After speaking, Vivi looked up, her gaze meeting Kaguya’s directly.
“I need your help.”
Kaguya took a small sip of his juice.
“No problem, but don’t forget our agreement, Princess.”
Vivi’s fingertips trembled slightly, yet she maintained her dignified posture.
“I… will not break my word.”
She bit her lower lip, the blush on the tips of her ears spreading to her cheeks.
“But only after you deal with Crocodile will I become your woman.”
“It’s a deal.
You should have brought an eternal pose for Alabasta, right?”
“I did.”
Vivi took an eternal pose from her bosom; the needle pointed steadily toward the southwest.
“Alright, we’ll set off after we eat.”
Kaguya stood up and headed toward the door.
Vivi and her duck followed behind Kaguya, walking out together.
In the dining room, the girls were already seated. Seeing the two enter, they all greeted Vivi.
Vivi forced a faint smile in response, but under their meaningful gazes, she unconsciously gripped the corners of her skirt.
“You don’t look too well. Are you worried about your country?”
Nojiko asked with concern, handing over a cup of hot tea.
Vivi took the teacup; Nojiko’s caring tone made her relax a little.
“Thank you… I’ve just been a bit tired lately.”
She lowered her head and took a sip. The aroma of the tea filled her mouth, but it couldn’t dispel the gloom in her heart.
“Relax. Since Kaguya promised to help you deal with that Crocodile guy, he will definitely do it.”
Nami pushed a piece of cake in front of Vivi.
Vivi looked at the exquisite dessert before her but had no appetite.
“Crocodile’s strength is very formidable…”
“Psh, he’s just a Logia Devil Fruit User. Kaguya can handle him.”
Dezaya waved her hand dismissively, spearing a piece of roasted meat and stuffing it into her mouth.
Seeing everyone’s relaxed expressions, Vivi’s tense nerves loosened slightly.
She stole a glance at Kaguya, who was talking with Tashigi. His calm and composed aura gave her a bit of peace of mind.
“Holy crap! Why is your duck stealing my steak!”
Dezaya suddenly jumped up, pointing at Karoo and shouting.
Karoo was holding a piece of steak in its beak, blinking its beady eyes innocently.
Everyone burst into laughter, and even Vivi couldn’t help but cover her mouth and giggle.
The atmosphere in the dining room instantly lightened up.
After breakfast—
“Kaguya, Igaram is the Captain of the Guard of the Alabasta Kingdom who went undercover with me in Baroque Works. Could you please release him?”
“Hmm? You didn’t release him secretly?”
Kaguya looked at Vivi with some surprise.
Vivi shook her head.
“I wanted to, but I felt I should ask for your permission…”
“It seems Her Highness is more law-abiding than I thought.”
Kaguya turned and instructed Honey Queen.
“Go and bring that Mr. Curly Hair here.”
A short while later, Igaram, tied up securely, was brought onto the deck.
Seeing Vivi safe and sound, he excitedly tried to break free from his ropes.
“Princess Vivi! Are you alright?”
“Igaram!”
Vivi stepped forward quickly and untied the ropes on Igaram.
Once free, Igaram immediately knelt on one knee.
“This subordinate is incompetent for letting Your Highness face such danger…”
“No, it was I who dragged you into this.”
Vivi helped him up and turned to Kaguya, bowing solemnly.
“Thank you for your magnanimity.”
Kaguya waved his hand.
“I’ve released him for you, but I won’t be taking him back to Alabasta.
This ship is full of my women; I won’t allow a strange man on board.”
Hearing this, a flash of awkwardness crossed Igaram’s face, but he quickly regained his serious expression.
He straightened his back and said solemnly to Kaguya.
“Please rest assured, I will return to Alabasta on my own. It’s just…”
He hesitated for a moment, his gaze turning to Vivi.
“Her Highness’s safety…”
“With me here, nothing will happen to Vivi.”
Kaguya interrupted him, his tone carrying an unquestionable confidence.
“Igaram, Kaguya is very strong. Don’t worry about me.
We’ll meet in Alabasta.”
Igaram bowed deeply to Vivi.
“Then this subordinate shall take his leave. Please take care of yourself, Your Highness.”
Having said that, he turned and walked down the gangway, soon disappearing toward the pier.
“Alright, it’s time for us to set off too.”
Kaguya clapped his hands and spoke to the girls.
Nami held the eternal pose provided by Vivi and guided Moomoo.
The Longteng Wanli slowly sailed away from Whiskey Peak, heading toward Alabasta.
