Chapter 297: Joining In The Fun.
Chapter 297: 297: Joining In The Fun.
Commander Lynn lay there, fast asleep for a long while. He didn’t even realize how much time had passed, as he was simply too exhausted to wake up on his own.
While he remained fast asleep, Ally made her way into the garden with Zay accompanying her. The two were carrying baskets filled with the fruits they had picked.
They had come to check on Commander Lynn and the twins, but upon arriving, they were surprised to find only Commander Lynn lying there fast asleep.
"....."
Ally looked at Zay, who simply shrugged as they glanced around. There was no sign of the twin cubs anywhere.
Confused, they approached Commander Lynn, and Zay tried waking him by gently tapping his side. A single tap did nothing, so they had to tap him several more times before he finally began to stir and slowly opened his eyes.
"Huh?" Commander Lynn looked around before his gaze landed on Ally and Zay. "What’s it...?"
"Where are Kellie and Minnie?" Ally asked, just to be sure.
"Huh? They’re here with me, playing. Why are you asking...?" Commander Lynn paused as he looked around and realized there was no sign of the twins.
He froze, his eyes slowly scanning the surroundings as he rubbed them properly to make sure he wasn’t seeing things. He looked around some more before finally turning to Ally and Zay, who were staring at him expectantly.
They blinked as Commander Lynn suddenly gasped.
"Oh no...!"
He instantly jumped to his feet and began searching the area, checking around the bushes and flowers while calling out to the little ones. However, they clearly weren’t there.
Ally sighed. "They should still be around here, so I think we should begin..."
Before she could finish her sentence, they heard a loud sound coming from nearby. It was clearly one of the little ones, Minnie in particular.
This confirmed that the twins were still somewhere around the area, and judging by the sound, they couldn’t be too far away.
Commander Lynn and Ally exchanged glances before turning towards the familiar direction from which the sound had come.
And immediately, they realized where the little ones must have gone.
"Oh no..." Ally muttered.
"They went to the training ground..." Zay completed.
Without hesitation, Commander Lynn took the lead and ran towards the scene, with the other two following closely behind.
---
Minnie and Kellie had made their way to the training ground, and as soon as they arrived, they quietly sat down on the ground to watch.
They observed the warrior beastmen as they meticulously practiced with their weapons, holding their spears and staffs while swinging them through the air in perfect synchronization.
"Ha! Ha!" they chorused, waving their weapons as they practiced their fighting techniques.
The warriors were far too focused on their training, while a wolf warrior general monitored their movements. Everyone was so busy that they didn’t even notice the little ones watching them attentively.
Kellie and Minnie sat there, observing the warriors for a while. But after watching them long enough, the twins became intrigued and wanted to join in on the fun.
They glanced at each other, and Minnie smiled.
"Go!"
Kellie nodded as they looked around for something to use. Minnie soon spotted a pile of weapon staffs kept at the side, and a smile spread across her face as she got to her feet.
Kellie watched curiously as his twin sister quietly made her way towards the weapons. She moved so lightly that the warriors practicing nearby didn’t even notice her.
Once she arrived, Minnie stretched out her hand and grabbed one of the staffs.
Normally, these weapon staffs were heavy and probably not convenient for little ones to handle. However, Minnie casually picked one up and held it firmly.
She staggered a little under its weight but quickly steadied herself, still holding it tightly with a smile. Then, she giggled proudly and turned to walk back to her twin brother.
Kellie was already standing by then, so Minnie handed him the staff. He also held it firmly, as though it were nothing more than an ordinary stick.
Minnie then returned to the pile and picked up another weapon staff. Holding the tall stick firmly, she walked back to where Kellie was waiting.
Soon, the two little wolf pups stood side by side, holding their tall staffs while staring at the warriors training before them.
They watched the men practice for a little longer before deciding to imitate them.
And just like that, the twins began their own little training session!
"Ha!" Kellie shouted.
"Ha!!" Minnie yelled even louder as they tried to imitate the warriors’ movements. Their techniques were far from perfect, but that didn’t seem to bother them at all.
The two little cubs continued swinging their staffs through the air, waving the tall weapons around like toys while shouting at the top of their lungs.
"Ha!!"
"Ha!!!"
"Ya!!"
"Ha yaa!"
"Huh?"
The warrior beastmen soon noticed something was off. They stopped what they were doing and slowly turned towards the source of the strange noises.
But the moment they saw what was happening, they were utterly shocked.
The two little cubs were happily waving actual weapon staffs through the air like playthings, enthusiastically chanting along with their training calls!
"What’s that...?"
"Those are the little ones... What are they doing here?"
"And what are they doing with those dangerous weapons?" the general demanded, immediately growing concerned for their safety.
"Where is Commander Lynn? Maybe they ran off again," one of the warriors suggested as they watched the twins continue playing with the staffs.
"Someone stop them before they get hurt!" another warrior exclaimed.
The general immediately rushed over to take the weapons away from the little ones.
"Hey, no, no, no! You can’t do that. It’s dangerous! Hand it over to me..."
He approached Minnie, reaching out to take the staff from her hands.
Unfortunately, Minnie was far too engrossed in her little training session to pay attention. She mistook his intervention for part of the practice and, without hesitation, swung her weapon staff with all her might.
SMACK!
The staff struck the general squarely across the face, sending the poor wolf beastman spinning before he crashed heavily onto the ground!
"Ha!!!" Minnie shouted triumphantly.
"....."
Silence engulfed the training ground for a moment as everyone stared in shock.
The twins paused and looked down at the general, who was groaning in pain on the ground. They exchanged glances and blinked at each other before turning to look at the other warrior beastmen, all of whom were staring at them in disbelief.
Then, as though they had just accomplished something incredible, the two little cubs smiled at each other.
"Ha!" they cheered together.
