Chapter 306: 306: Control Training II

"Will he make it...?" Ally asked, watching with a smile. She was proud of her little brother.

"I doubt it," Neris replied, shaking his head with a smile.

"You’re always so negative!" Nyeon snapped, shaking his head at him.

"Well, I’m just telling the truth based on my observations," Neris retorted as they continued watching Kellie make his way forward.

Commander Lynn and Ayra watched with growing excitement and curiosity as the little cub approached the finishing line. He was getting closer and closer, and it seemed like he might finally make it this time.

But just as he neared the finishing line, the egg slipped off his head and fell to the ground, shattering into pieces.

"....."

Everyone fell silent as they stared at the scene. Even Kellie paused, looking down at his broken egg before lifting his head to stare innocently at Commander Lynn, blinking as though he had no idea what had gone wrong.

"I told you." Neris shrugged as Commander Lynn ran a hand through his hair. This was proving to be an almost impossible task!

---

Commander Lynn continued training the little ones, having them repeatedly walk toward the finishing line with eggs balanced on their heads. Their task was simple: reach the destination without letting the eggs fall.

Minnie was always the first to fail. She would set off in a hurry, only to end up dropping her egg almost immediately. Commander Lynn had endlessly urged her to move carefully, and she would always nod in agreement, promising to do better. Yet, somehow, she would still end up running or walking far too quickly.

Kellie, on the other hand, moved calmly and carefully. However, whenever he got close to the finishing line, his egg would inevitably fall. Commander Lynn couldn’t figure out what the problem was, let alone how to fix it.

In the end, he could only encourage his son to keep trying, and the training continued in the same frustrating pattern.

The triplet snakes, who had been watching from the sidelines, eventually began yawning and shaking their heads.

"I’m already getting tired just watching them," Nat complained.

"Me too! Let’s go play something else. You can tell us what happened later," Nyeon suggested, and the three of them promptly ran off to play.

Ayra and the others remained behind, still watching the training with curiosity.

After a while, Ally smiled and rose to her feet.

"Where are you going?" Ayra asked.

"I’m going to offer some help." Ally smiled before approaching the scene, leaving Ayra curious about what she intended to do.

Ally arrived beside Commander Lynn and offered, "Let me see what I can do."

Commander Lynn nodded, allowing her to take over. Ally then approached the little ones, gathered them together, and crouched down to their level. Holding them gently, she leaned closer and whispered something to them.

Commander Lynn and the others couldn’t hear what she was saying. They could only watch as Ally spoke to the cubs, who listened attentively before nodding with bright smiles.

Ally took her time explaining things to them. Once she was done, she smiled and encouraged them. "Good luck!"

She then stood up and stepped aside, joining Commander Lynn, who immediately turned to her.

"And what exactly did you do?"

Ally smiled mysteriously. "Well, I guess we’ll have to wait and see."

With that, she folded her arms and watched confidently. Everyone else turned their attention to the little ones, eager to see what they would do next.

The twins returned to the starting point, where Commander Lynn placed an egg on each of their heads once more.

As soon as the test began, Kellie moved first. He walked calmly and casually, keeping the egg balanced on his head as he made his way toward the finishing line.

Everyone watched anxiously, expecting him to drop it again just as he had done before. However, to their surprise, the little cub continued walking without a single mishap. He passed the finishing line with the egg still firmly balanced on his head!

"....."

Everyone was left speechless.

"Did he just...?" Commander Lynn stared in disbelief, clearly impressed. "How did you...?"

Before he could finish his question, they turned their attention to Minnie, who had now started moving.

Yet again, Minnie wasn’t walking. She had immediately broken into a fast run, making everyone worry that she was about to ruin everything once more. Some had practically given up hope, and even Ally looked surprised and a little anxious.

However, Minnie ran effortlessly with the egg balanced on her head. To everyone’s astonishment, she made it all the way to the finishing line without dropping it even once!

As she reached the destination, she stopped and carefully took the egg off her head. Then, with a bright smile, she turned toward Commander Lynn and Ally, proudly raising it like a trophy.

"Papa! Look! I did it!" she announced happily.

"....."

Everyone stared at her in surprise, completely speechless. They could hardly believe how smoothly everything had gone. Weren’t these the same little ones who had been messing up repeatedly just moments ago?

And now, they had both passed the test on their first try! Even Minnie, who had run the entire way instead of walking, had somehow managed to keep her egg intact.

Everyone was impressed, but Commander Lynn was especially stunned. He turned toward Ally and asked, "What exactly did you tell the little ones?"

Ally smiled and shrugged. "Actually, nothing much. I just promised them some honey if they got it right, along with a trip to see pretty butterflies. Then I explained why they needed to keep the eggs from falling. I suppose they didn’t really understand the instructions properly before..."

"....."

Commander Lynn blinked before slowly nodding in realization. "Oh, I see... I guess they love honey and butterflies more than anything else!"

Ayra smiled from where she sat. "I guess, in the end, the eldest sister always knows what gets the little ones moving."

Ally nodded confidently, folding her arms. "Certainly!"

Just then, Kellie and Minnie came running toward her, surrounding her as they eagerly demanded their promised rewards.

"Honey! Honey!"

"Butterflies! We want butterflies!"

Ally smiled at their enthusiasm. "Don’t worry. You’ll get them soon, after the training." She then looked up at Commander Lynn. "So, is there anything else left for them to train today?"

Commander Lynn shook his head. "Eh... Since they’ve already completed the basics for today, and..."

Before he could finish his sentence, the twins threw their arms around Ally, cheering excitedly.

"Yay! No more training! Let’s go!"

"Honey!"

"Butterflies!"

They chanted happily, clinging to Ally and urging her to leave with them immediately.

Commander Lynn could only smile as he watched them. They seemed to have grown tired of training already, despite barely having done anything! Still, seeing them so happy made it difficult for him to be too strict with them.

Ally smiled down at the excited cubs. "Okay, okay. No rush! Let’s go," she said, taking their hands and leading the way.

The twins happily followed her, practically bouncing with excitement, while Zay also joined them.

Commander Lynn remained where he stood, letting out a sigh as he shook his head with an amused smile. Then, he turned to look at Ayra.
