Chapter 307: 307: Help Papa.

Ayra smiled back at Commander Lynn as she rose to her feet and walked over to him. Standing before him, she fed him a nut while saying, "It’s not easy at all... You can always give up, you know?"

Commander Lynn ate the nut before responding, "No, I can’t give up that easily. I’ll make sure I train them hard enough..."

Ayra smiled and nodded. "Okay, then... Good luck!" She fed him another nut, and the two stood there smiling at each other as they munched on the snacks.

---

Several days passed, yet the training was still in session. Commander Lynn continued working hard to train the little ones, but it wasn’t an easy task.

The cubs hardly listened. One moment, they would be standing in position, and the next, they would be running around chasing butterflies or squirrels, leaving their father to chase after them.

Meanwhile, Ayra sat with some elderly beastmen and warriors who had left their regular practice to help her grind ingredients for making soap. It had become a monthly activity for them to produce soap in large quantities to serve the entire community.

Ayra was working alongside the others, giving instructions as they ground the ingredients, when Kellie and Minnie suddenly ran away from their training and rushed over to her.

"Mama! Mama!"

"Mama!"

The twin cubs called out to her as they surrounded her, interrupting her work. Ayra turned toward them with a smile, nearly losing her balance as they crowded around her.

"What’s wrong? Why are you here instead of practicing?" she asked, looking at them with an amused smile.

"Mama, we don’t want to train anymore!" Minnie complained, and Kellie immediately nodded in agreement.

"Yes, yes! We don’t want to! We’re already tired, Mama. Let us stop!" Kellie added, and the two began complaining like children who no longer wanted to go to school.

The beastmen around them burst into laughter, while Ayra smiled and patted their heads. "Papa is already working so hard to train you, so don’t disappoint him, okay? You should work hard for Papa, too, so you can grow strong enough to protect Mama."

The two cubs pouted as they listened to her instructions.

"Papa won’t make it too hard for you forever, okay?" Ayra added encouragingly.

Minnie sighed. "We’ve been doing the same thing for days now. Papa still doesn’t want to give us sticks!"

Kellie nodded firmly, agreeing with his sister.

The beastmen around them laughed again, and one of the warriors finally spoke up. "Oh, little ones. You have to learn stamina and the basics first before you can hold a stick!"

As soon as he said that, the twins turned toward him simultaneously, their expressions suddenly serious.

"....."

The beastman immediately panicked. He remembered how the two little cubs had ganged up on someone and smashed his head with a stick the last time they got their hands on one. He had no intention of becoming their next target!

Without another word, he quickly shut his mouth and resumed his work as though nothing had happened.

This only made everyone laugh harder.

Ayra shook her head with a smile before turning back to the twins. "So don’t worry about it. Just keep working hard, okay? Mama will reward you with some stories and delicious meat tonight if you train properly for Papa. Deal?"

The twin cubs immediately nodded.

"Yes, Mama!"

"Where are you...?" Just then, Commander Lynn finally appeared, making his way toward them.

He had been running around searching for the two little troublemakers for ages and had finally found them. By now, he was panting heavily, his body covered in sweat as he approached.

"What are you doing here? Come on, let’s go! We still have practice to do..." he said, trying to catch his breath.

The twins turned toward him and nodded firmly. "Okay, Papa! Let’s go!"

Commander Lynn was surprised when they immediately followed him without asking any questions or putting up a fight. Before long, the three of them had disappeared from sight.

The beastmen exchanged amused smiles and shook their heads as they returned to their work, chatting about the little ones and their antics.

At that moment, Nyx happened to be walking past. He stopped when he noticed the group working together and watched them quietly.

"Oh, you’re here!" Ayra said with a smile when she spotted him. "You should come and join us!"

Nyx said nothing at first. With both hands behind his back, he stood there looking down at their work.

However, the moment he looked at Ayra, he was reminded of the intimate time they had spent together the previous day. His face grew warm, and he found himself avoiding her gaze out of embarrassment.

"Oh, Nyx doesn’t do this kind of work," one of the beastmen remarked.

An elderly beastman nodded in agreement. "That’s right. He certainly doesn’t seem to like such things. He’s probably more suited to harsher work, so I doubt he’ll join us."

Ayra sighed as she looked at Nyx. "Oh, is that so? That’s a pity. I was hoping you’d join us since you’re such a fast learner. I believe you’d be a great help to everyone... Too bad..."

Nyx remained quiet, glancing down at Ayra as she expressed her disappointment. He then looked at the other beastmen, who were watching the exchange with interest.

Clearing his throat, he brought one hand forward and spoke up. "Well, I don’t have anything else to do, so I wouldn’t want to disappoint you... I guess I’ll sit down and see how it’s done."

Ayra’s praise had made him feel good, and he couldn’t resist the urge to join in and impress her.

"....."

His sudden decision left everyone surprised.

"Huh? Nyx is actually joining us for this kind of domestic work?" one beastman asked in disbelief.

"I also heard that he once cooked for the female!" an elderly beastman added.

"Yes, me too! Me too!" another chimed in.

"And he’s been so domestic around the female lately..." someone else remarked thoughtfully. "So what does this mean? Could he also be...?"

"What if they’ve already officially become mates and no one knows yet?" another suggested. "Because this really looks like he’s secretly courting the female!"

"....."

Nyx was speechless at their wild theories. He stood there blinking at them before muttering, "You people think too much."

Clearing his throat again, he sat down beside Ayra. "I just want to help."

Ayra smiled brightly and patted his head and ears. "That’s my kitty!"

"I’m not a kitty..." Nyx muttered, feeling thoroughly embarrassed.

But the other beastmen had already burst into laughter at the sight. Their laughter only stopped when Nyx shot them a cold glare.

"....."

Ayra smiled as she turned toward him. "Now, I’ll show you how it’s done myself. I’m sure you’ll learn even faster that way."

Nyx nodded, ready to begin working alongside her.

However, just as they were about to start, Ally came running toward them in a hurry, looking panicked as though something terrible had happened.
