Chapter 2342: Chapter 1166: World of Warships 2

"I see, thanks for the heads-up, we will."

Elsa smiled and nodded when she heard that, indicating she would follow her senior’s instructions.

Tessa the Nun didn’t say anything more to that. As a guide, she’d fulfilled her duty; whether the juniors listened or not was none of her business.

"Alright then, I’ve sent you the locator signal for the 666th Army. Go report in as soon as you can."

The nun auntie sent a signal frequency to the two of them, then turned around and left.

Dorothy had Zero search that frequency and found that the location was just over five hundred kilometers away—really not far. At Hover Car Speed it would take about half an hour.

Except...

"So I’m an off-world invader who just casually blended in as a local soldier, and in a bit I’m going to fight other invaders. There is definitely something wrong with this whole setup."

The homebody witch had a stomach full of complaints she wanted to spit out, but had no idea what to say first.

Still, she followed Elsa back onto the Hover Car, and the two of them flew toward the 666 Legion according to the locator.

On the way, they logged into the Church of Machinery’s intranet, planning to see what goodies were in there.

"Dorothy, do you need to add some self-defense options? I can help you pick. Don’t be fooled by how I look—honestly, I’m pretty strong."

Elsa self-recommended while scrolling through the item catalogue.

Personally she wasn’t very interested in the Skills and gear on the Church of Machinery’s intranet. Unlike the Alliance, this Church wasn’t big on equality; the intranet was permission-tiered by Level.

With the newbie clearance the two of them had, they couldn’t see any high-end stuff—well, "high-end" by her standards. For ordinary people, the things open to them right now were already impossibly rare on the market, all military-grade.

It was just that the Skills and gear Elsa had cobbled together over the years far surpassed this standard military stuff. If there were any apostle skills or equipment at Warship Level or above, she’d actually give them a second look.

Of course, the Angel Girl wouldn’t miss this chance to show off a bit in front of Dorothy. She was really looking forward to helping Miss Partner plan things out.

Honestly, if it weren’t so hard to explain, she actually wanted to directly custom-build an exclusive package for Dorothy.

But Dorothy, strictly speaking, didn’t need these self-defense tools at all. In her current Black Impermanence state, she had genuine Sage Level combat power. She wasn’t exactly invincible out here in the Mechanical Wilderness, but she’d at least rank near the top.

It’s just, witch Magic really didn’t match the visual style of the Mechanical Wilderness. To better cover up her identity, she could pick up some Mechanical methods as camouflage.

Mechanical Ascension as a route, though, was a no-go.

Even if she kind of wanted to try it, right now her body’s essence was The Faceless Chaos; this humanoid form was just a sculpted disguise. Her true form was a writhing puddle of formless pitch-black chaos covered in eyes—indescribable. Ascend what Mechanical, exactly.

She even had to rely on Zero’s spoofing to log into Sky Net.

However, she’d already thought of a solution to this problem long ago.

"Cybernetic modification is off the table. I’m actually with the Body Purification Faction; I walk the path of the Mechanical Manipulator."

Dorothy answered Elsa like this.

The so-called Mechanical Manipulator was basically someone who specialized in controlling machines—a fairly niche School in the Mechanical Wilderness. Put more simply, a Mechanical Summoner.

Unlike those who modified themselves to achieve Mechanical Ascension, Angel Envoys of this path took the "machine swarm control" route, relying more on numbers to win.

Strictly speaking, she wasn’t lying. The homebody witch really was a Puppet Master, and Puppetry Technique controlling Puppets was quite analogous to a Mechanical Manipulator controlling machines. Not much difference at all.

So even though Dorothy didn’t need any Cybernetic Body gear, she was quite interested in the knowledge chips. This Mechanical Engineering knowledge should help her further refine Spider Teacher’s Puppetry Technique.

The homebody witch planned to use this time to learn everything she could here and work hard to become a real mechanical master.

"Uh, a Mechanical Manipulator? What a coincidence, that’s exactly what I am too."

Elsa froze for a second, then said in delight.

She wasn’t exactly Body Purification Faction, but she was indeed a Mechanical Manipulator. Her Icarus Body was her main combat machine body. She really hadn’t expected Dorothy to be in the same line of work—now this was fate.

Mm, as expected of the System; that matchmaking is on point. So this is what it feels like to share hobbies and ideals.

The Angel Girl sighed in her heart.

She had really wronged the System in the past.

Dorothy: "....."

Seeing how excited Elsa was, the homebody witch instantly broke out in a cold sweat. Her Mechanical Manipulator identity was totally faked, and somehow she’d ended up with the real deal.

She thought for a moment, then reached into her bag and pulled out a small Juvenile Dragon.

Yup, this was naturally her Armored Beast Favna. For the past few days, to maintain her disguise, she’d kept Buster and Favna hidden in her suitcase space.

"This is my Mechanical Beast Favna. She can Transmigration into Mecha to protect me."

The homebody witch introduced her like that.

The Armored Beast Races were a peculiar sort of being—calling them biological Mecha wasn’t wrong. And even before Favna was born, Dorothy had fixed her design: a Gundam Dragon. With that streamlined dragon body designed to match aerodynamics, those jet-like wings, and that metal-textured Scale Armor—who’d dare say she wasn’t a Mechanical Beast?

And after such a long period of feeding, Favna had finally passed the juvenile stage and entered adolescence. Thanks to the Armored Beast traits, each growth phase gave her a chance for an Evolution tweak. Dorothy really did plan to study up on Mechanical Engineering and then upgrade and optimize Favna’s body structure, turning her into a real mecha Gundam Dragon.

On the other side, Elsa’s gaze didn’t immediately land on Favna. The Angel Girl instead first noticed the homebody witch’s pocket.

"Space-folding compression tech? Looks like Dorothy is even more impressive than I thought."

She thought this to herself, but didn’t let it show on her face.

People always have secrets. Just like she hadn’t told Dorothy that she was the leader of Freedom Wings—it just wasn’t time yet. She’d come clean when the timing was right.

Little secrets made human interactions more fun. Maintaining a certain sense of mystery was the key to attraction, you know.

So Elsa plucked a feather from her wing, and the feather snapped and clicked as it Transmigration and expanded, finally becoming a petite blue-haired four-winged Mechanical Angel.

Calling her an Angel was one thing, but those wings, thin as cicada wings, were more like a fairy’s.

"So Dorothy, you’re Mechanical-stream? I’m the attached type. This is my Mechanical Angel Nymph."

She’d seen that Favna’s strength wasn’t that high—just around ordinary Knight Level Angel Envoy. So, to avoid putting pressure on Miss Partner, she deliberately brought out her backup body. This body wasn’t built for combat power; it was a recon type.

Dorothy: "...."

Heh. Like hell I believe you.

The homebody witch fought down the urge to roll her White Eye. She knew Elsa was being considerate, deliberately playing weak, but knowing this Good Sister was an Incarnation already, she’d seen right through everything.

Act away. We’ll see who cracks first.

And so, the two pseudo-wives each kept their little schemes and performed away. Soon, the Hover Car arrived at a military camp.

Just as they got off, they saw a tall, athletic figure stepping down from another Hover Car.

It was a very beautiful woman, especially with those Dragon Horns on her head like a natural crown, adding a touch of wild beauty.

Except.....

The other party... kind of, maybe, possibly, sorta looked about sixty percent like the homebody witch.

"Damn, Bahamut? Your grandma’s—what the hell is going on? Don’t tell me it isn’t just Chessboard World, but also World of Warships?"

The moment Dorothy saw this beauty’s face, her body stiffened and she was struck like by lightning.

How could she not recognize that face? She’d spent several years staring at it as her wife’s face. The problem was that her wife was a 2D character, a Warship Girls unit from a game.

Holy crap, what do you do when your game wife suddenly shows up in reality?

Waiting online, kind of urgent.

...homebody witch in total confusion....
