Overlord Tamer:I Only Tame Bosses
Chapter 132: Weekend
Saturday finally arrived.
It was the first weekend of the current academy year.
Saturday and Sunday were the days when students were free to do whatever they wanted because there were no classes during that two days. Some went to the city for a walk, some returned home if they lived nearby, while most simply stayed within the academy grounds.
For the first-year students, this weekend was especially exciting since they finally had time to raid dungeons for the first time in this academy and complete their assignments.
However, Oliver remained calm. After all, he had already cleared dozens of dungeons by himself.
He had a light breakfast in his room that morning. Just some bread and milk. After that, he headed toward the Dungeon Deep Mind.
Along the way, he saw many students from different years. Some were wearing casual clothes and preparing to go out, while others were like him, ready to enter dungeons. Most of them had their monsters walking beside them.
However, Oliver could not ignore the glances directed his way. To be more precise, they were not looking at him. They were looking at Flora.
She was currently following behind him on the way to the dungeons. Oliver had strictly told her not to appear in public, but she insisted on seeing the academy with her own eyes.
As a result, many students could not help but stare. Especially the male students. Several of them couldn’t even close their mouths as they looked at Flora.
Oliver quickly hastened his pace until he finally arrived at his destination. Upon arrival
he was surprised by how many students were gathered there.
It was completely different from when he usually came at night. Some students were in small groups, while others were gathered in large parties.
“Anyone want to join our party of four? We need a Water-element monster!”
“Anyone with an Earth Warrior-type monster? We have one slot left.”
“Who wants to join a Thunder-element-only party? We will zap our way through the dungeons with ease!”
Students were calling out from all directions, trying to recruit others into their groups. The entire area was bustling with activity.
Oliver scanned the surroundings before spotting Max and his group waving at him. He immediately walked toward them.
“You’re late, Oliver. We’ve been waiting for ten minutes.” Max said.
“Sorry. I overslept a bit.” Oliver replied.
His eyes then landed on someone he had never seen before. The young man had indigo hair, a tall build, and a pale face. He wore the purple uniform of House Avaris.
“Oh, Oliver, let me introduce you. This is Scott. He is actually from a minor noble house, but he is willing to join our cause.” Max said with a grin.
“What are you talking about? Are you recruiting people for some kind of resistance or something?” Oliver asked while narrowing his eyes.
“Hello, Oliver. It is really nice to team up with you.” Scott said.
“Me too.”
Oliver shook hands with Scott.
“Alright, now that all five of us are here, let’s head to the first dungeon I picked that contains the monster I want. We are going to the Rank 4 Windy Hill Dungeon!”
The others nodded. With that, all five of them entered the dungeon together.
At the entrance of the Dungeon Deep Mind, Gloria had just arrived. However, she was pouting and walking with a dejected expression.
The reason was simple. She wanted to tame an attack-type monster. Although she already had more than three monsters in her lineup, all of them were Support types. It was difficult to rely on only a single role.
She had wanted to invite Ophelia to help her, but the girl had refused, saying that she planned to spend the day training.
“Jeez… that girl. Is training the only thing she ever thinks about? Training, training, training…” Gloria sighed.
“She must still be holding a grudge against my black-haired prince.” As she muttered to herself, a group of students suddenly approached her.
“Hey, lady. Want to join our party?”
Gloria glanced at them. From the plates on their shoulders, she could tell they were second-year students.
“Errr… it’s fine. I-I just want to look around first.” Gloria smiled awkwardly.
Actually, she had planned to team up with other first-year students since she felt more comfortable around them. Partying with seniors was really awkward for her.
“Do not worry. We will protect you inside the dungeon. You just focus on supporting us, alright?” A female student from the group stepped forward and stood beside her.
The truth was, they already knew about Gloria. She was one of the best support tamers among the first years.
Support monsters were one of the most important assets in a dungeon-raiding party. However, few people liked specializing in them because the role was not flashy. Most support tamers stayed at the rear and rarely received much attention.
Because of that, support tamers could easily find a party willing to accept them. But Gloria was not in the mood to help others today because she wanted to tame a monster for herself.
Unfortunately, if she rejected the invitation outright, she might end up being labeled as an arrogant first-year student.
‘I want to tame a monster… wuuu…’
Gloria cried inwardly. In the end, she had no choice but to join the second-year party and enter the dungeon portal with them.
Windy Hill Dungeon
“Max, how long are you going to take to tame that monster?!” Henrik shouted.
Atop a medium-sized hill, he, Alex, Scott, and Oliver were circling around and protecting Max, who stood in the center while attempting to tame a monster.
Dozens of large bird monsters called Faltors, Rank B monsters, were attacking them from all directions.
Each one was around two and a half meters in size and they attacked using their massive claws and sharp beaks.
“Just a little longer!” Max shouted as he struggled to tame the Faltor in the middle of the group. The monster was currently restrained by Flora’s vines and unable to move.
Ping!
Ping!
The sounds of claws and beaks colliding with blades echoed across the hill.
Oliver was currently wielding his Assault Dagger, still hoping that a stronger monster would appear so he could test out his new equipment.
After a few more minutes, Max finally completed the taming ritual and the monster vanished into particles of light.
“I did it!” Max shouted happily.
The moment those words left his mouth, Oliver immediately rushed forward and began attacking the remaining monsters with others.
