Chapter 125: Elena In Danger

"Where’s Elena?" I asked calmly, staring in to sapphire’s eyes.

Hearing my question, sapphire’s expression changed immediately.

She glanced at her cousin sister, and seeing that Lila had nodded, she no longer held any reservations and spoke softly.

"There’s been a few issues lately. I’ll explain as I lead the way."

"Okay." I replied indifferently, and tilted slowly, before smoothly flipping onto the ground.

Sapphire also jumped down from the tree soon after I did.

She glanced at me and quickly led the way deeper into the frozen land as she explained gently.

"The situation concerning Elena has been particularly difficult. After arriving here, she planned to expand the company’s research fields, but she found a mana mountain."

"Since then, the company has been divided into two, the board of directors want the mana stones for themselves, but Elena rejected the proposal. Since then we’ve been engaged in a fight for who would get a hold of the mana mountain."

"I’m sure you can understand why I attacked you the moment you arrived? I thought you were one of their men who had come to scout the surroundings."

"Oh..." I simply replied and a contemplative look appeared in my eyes.

’Mana mountain?’ I had never head anything like that, but I could guess that it was valuable from how the board of directors were fighting for it.

Both Elena and the board and directors were engaged in a conflict all because of it. That displayed its importance.

I couldnt help but be curious about whether it would be important to me as well.

Before long, after a few more minutes of walking, a large, cosy apartment appeared in the distance.

I glanced ahead and I guessed that Elena might be there.

As we reached, I noticed the tension that seemed to hand in the surroundings.

Ahead, I noticed soldiers armed completely with military weapons patrolling.

My gaze shifted briefly to sapphire.

The only reason she had ventured out on her own, was because she was an awakened and could handle things on her own.

Sapphire nodded at the soldiers scattered around and they tightened their grips on their arms upon seeing the group of strangers.

I noticed flickers of mana gathered around their guns, and I was a little amazed.

’Its seems that their bullets are infused with manas’

It was amazing just how diverse mana seemed to be.

"Greetings miss sapphire!" Just then, a soldier saluted to us, straightening himself as he noticed out presence.

"Is my aunt inside?" She asked softly.

"Yes, she had been up for a while." The soldier replied, then gestured towards the people behind her.

He was especially wary of me, since he could feel a sense of danger coming from me.

"And who might these be?" He asked calmly.

"They are guests. That is Lila, the mrs daughter. And these are her... friends." She forced a smile onto her face as she replied.

"Okay," the man stared at us once more, his gaze especially lingering on Lila.

He never knew that the mrs had a daughter before. But upon closer look, he could recognize the resemblance between the two of them.

"Please come with me." The head soldier said professionally.

Then, he led the way deeper into the household.

When we reached the door, he knocked lightly.

"Mrs? There seems to be a few guest who are demanding your presence." He said calmly.

"Guests? I’m not interested in receiving any guests for now." Elena’s voice was unmistakably familiar as she replied as calmly as possible.

The man hesitated for a moment, then added softly.

"The lady claims to be your daughter... her name is Lila."

"Lila?" Elena let out a startled cry, then, the sound of rustling came from within the door and she quickly stepped out of the room.

The door twisted and slowly swung open.

She wondered what exactly her daughter was doing here.

Had she encountered any danger?

She sent her precisely to that city because of how strongly they regulated awakeners.

They ensured no information about awakeners got In, and out.

In fact no information about awakeners was present on the internet there, everything had been filtered out completely.

Also, because this was a magic world, using abilities, they had eliminated the uses of things that could bypass this restrictions and switch one’s location.

Elena stepped out, and just as she was about to rush to her daughter, her body seemed to come to a stop.

She froze completely, and her eyes trembled in shock as her gaze landed on mine.

She noticed that familiar, calm, unfazed smile, the serene expression and eyes she could never forget.

"L... Lucien?" She called out in an unsure tone.

It seemed so surreal as though she was dreaming.

"You seem stressed." I said quietly, then added, "Sorry for the long absence."

Hearing the calm, but deep voice, Elena understood that it couldnt be a dream.

She had forgotten about her daughter completely and her mind was now fully focused on me.

Without any further delay, she rushed up to hug me.

Elena threw herself into my arms and for the first time in many months tears streamed down her eyes.

All the weight that she had been holding on her shoulders for a long time all seemed to come crashing down the moment she saw me.

She collapsed onto my arms, feeling exhausted and she stared at me.

The stress crashed onto her and she broke down, melting into my arms.

Olivia’s flashed with jealousy. Another woman?

She was startled and also jealous at the same time.

Just how many women did he have around him?

On the other hand, Lila eyes widened in surprised.

This was the first time she saw her mother crying...

She watched in surprise as her mother sniffled into Lucien’s arms.

"Lucien, I... I’ve missed you...." She added, and continued sniffling into my arms.

She pressed her head against my chest and I could feel her tears drenching into it.

I exhaled slowly, then lowered a hand gently to her hair and patted her.

"Its alright... I’m here now..."
