Pregnant Cultivator, Doted by Big Boss
Chapter 561 - 559: Hahahahaha, Dying of Laughter
Chapter 561: Chapter 559: Hahahahaha, Dying of Laughter
Hearing this, the servants of the Minister of the Ministry of Justice’s mansion were stunned for a moment, then burst into roaring laughter. They glanced at Arthur Jacobs, clearly not believing him, and began to taunt him one after another.
"Haha, this is hilarious!"
"Did you hear what this kid’s saying? He claims he’s the young master of the General’s Mansion."
Another man spoke up. "If he’s the young master of the General’s Mansion, then I’m his father! Ptui! It’s bad enough this little brat has sticky fingers, but he even dares to impersonate the young master of the General’s Mansion. Men, take him back to His Lordship for judgment."
The dog beside them chimed in with a few threatening WOOFs.
"Stop... Let me go!"
Arthur Jacobs’s arms were seized, and he struggled with all his might. He felt a cool breeze on his rear and subconsciously tried to cover himself, but his hands were held fast, and he couldn’t move.
Not far away, passersby were staring in their direction. They huddled together, pointing and whispering. The thought of his bare backside being seen by everyone sent a wave of shame washing over Arthur Jacobs.
"How insolent!"
The words had barely left his mouth when he was kicked, the man adding a heavy dose of mockery. "You little brat, you really think you’re some young master? Why don’t you take a look in the mirror and see what you look like."
He yelped in pain from the kick. When Arthur Jacobs came to his senses, he was furious.
"You dare to hit me?"
Although being captured had made Arthur Jacobs a little frantic, the thought of his status immediately dispelled his fear. He had the entire General’s Mansion backing him up.
’And these people in front of me... I won’t let any of them off. These bastards, relying on their master’s power to bully others and looking down on people... they all deserve to die.’
’And the Minister of the Ministry of Justice... he’s in charge of all punishments. If I fall into his hands, who knows what kind of torture I’ll suffer.’
"I really am the young master of the General’s Mansion! If you don’t believe me, you can send someone to the General’s Mansion to announce me." Just as Arthur Jacobs finished speaking, someone nearby chimed in.
"Still trying to fool us? Just because you say so? Look at you, you’re as filthy as a beggar. What kind of young master looks like this?" As he spoke, they caught a whiff of a foul stench, and each of them frowned slightly.
"Ew, what’s that smell? It stinks. And you still dare to call yourself the young master of the General’s Mansion?"
Ever since reclaiming his identity, Arthur Jacobs had always held his head high, yet now he was being looked upon with such disgust. It reminded him of his time being raised by the old beggar, and for a moment, he felt utterly humiliated.
’But this isn’t the time to be embarrassed.’
’I can’t let these people take me away.’
At this thought, Arthur Jacobs quickly said, "I have a token on me that proves I’m from the General’s Mansion! It’s on my person."
The men who had grabbed him scanned him from head to toe.
They saw that although the boy before them was disheveled and grimy, a closer look revealed his clothes were not cheap. They suddenly felt uncertain. ’Could this kid really be the young master of the General’s Mansion?’
’The Protector General, Caleb Jacobs, serves in the same court as our Lord. We just hit this kid. If he decides to press the matter, we’ll be in for more trouble than we can handle.’
’No, no... even if he really is the young master of the General’s Mansion, we didn’t know his identity at first. On the contrary, this kid was the one acting suspiciously, sneaking into our mansion through a dog hole.’
Realizing they had a solid justification, the men relaxed. The leader reached out and patted Arthur Jacobs down, quickly finding the Jade Pendant that signified his status with the General’s Mansion.
The top of the Jade Pendant was carved with the family name "Jacobs," and on the back was the name "Arthur Jacobs." The man holding the pendant stared at the name, then looked up at him, his expression hard to describe.
He sized up the filthy boy before him.
"This is indeed the Jade Pendant from the General’s Mansion. So you’re the true young master the General’s Mansion found a while ago?"
Arthur Jacobs lifted his chin slightly, a disdainful look on his face. "Now do you believe me? Let me go, already."
Once his identity was confirmed, the servants of the Minister of the Ministry of Justice’s mansion looked at him with bewilderment. They couldn’t help but wonder if there was something wrong with this kid’s head. Who in their right mind would enjoy crawling through dog holes?
Then it occurred to them that this young master from the General’s Mansion had been lost and living on the outside for years. Perhaps he had picked up some... peculiar habits.
Although this was what they were thinking, they let none of it show on their faces. This was, after all, the young master of the General’s Mansion, and it wouldn’t do to offend him. So, with a swift change in tone, they began to apologize.
"Our apologies, Young Master Jacobs. We didn’t know your identity and mistook you for a common thief trying to sneak into our mansion."
As the leader spoke, another man with him chimed in, "As you know, our lord is the Minister of the Ministry of Justice, and the mansion holds many important case files. We thought someone was trying to infiltrate the residence to steal secrets. You entered through the dog hole and even startled the watchdog... so, well, please forgive our offense."
The implication was clear: it was his own fault he got beaten, and they were not to blame.
They had seized the initiative, leaving Arthur Jacobs speechless with a single sentence.
Yes, he, Arthur Jacobs, had been the one to crawl through someone else’s dog hole. The truth was, he was only doing it to complete a mission and had no other intentions. ’But could anyone else possibly think that? Who in their right mind crawls through a dog hole late at night?’
Before he could say anything, he heard the gossiping onlookers nearby start to talk. They whispered back and forth amongst themselves.
"Look, those are the servants from Lord Miller’s mansion."
"Whoa... this is some juicy gossip! Did you hear? That kid is apparently the true young master who was found by the General’s Mansion."
"I heard about that... They say he was only just found a little while ago."
"For real? *That’s* the young master of the General’s Mansion? He doesn’t look the part at all. Did you hear what they said? This young master from the General’s Mansion crawled through the dog hole in Lord Miller’s backyard?"
"So he went crawling through a dog hole! What kind of hobby is that? No wonder that dog kept chasing and biting him. His whole butt is hanging out."
As someone said this, they couldn’t help but let out a muffled laugh.
"Haha, isn’t that hilarious? Once word of this gets out tonight, the General’s Mansion will be completely disgraced."
"Crawling through someone’s dog hole in the middle of the night instead of sleeping... is he all right in the head? Don’t tell me he was actually trying to steal something?"
Those strange, suspicious gazes bored into him.
Arthur Jacobs was an incredibly proud person to begin with. Now, hearing those belittling and disgusted words filter into his ears, his face flushed red with fury and embarrassment.
"What nonsense are you spouting? You don’t know anything!" he snapped, clamping a hand over his rear and trying to leave. However, the servants from Lord Miller’s mansion had no intention of letting him go.
"Young Master Jacobs, you’d best come with us. Besides, I’ve already sent someone to inform the General’s Mansion. Someone will be here to pick you up shortly."
