Chapter 573 - 571: This Young Master Will Scare You to Death
Chapter 573: Chapter 571: This Young Master Will Scare You to Death
The moonlight was perfect.
In the pavilion, the two of them were locked in a passionate embrace, kissing.
When the kiss ended, and his lips parted from hers, a silvery thread of saliva connected them for a moment.
Javier Sinclair gently wiped it away with his finger. The woman before him had shed the innocence of her girlhood and now possessed an alluring charm. When she glanced at him, his heart hammered uncontrollably in his chest.
’My wife is so beautiful,’ he thought. ’She’s gorgeous from head to toe.’
"My wife, you’re so beautiful. Your eyes are beautiful, your face is beautiful, even every strand of your hair is beautiful."
Hearing this, Celeste Grant rolled her eyes at him.
"Old Fiend Sinclair, do you have to be so sappy?"
He replied, "Am I? I am only speaking the truth. My wife is the most beautiful woman in heaven and on earth."
Javier Sinclair never doubted Celeste Grant’s beauty.
"Celeste Grant."
He lowered his head slightly, gently pressing his forehead against hers. "Why do I love you so much?"
"Oh, I know why," Celeste Grant said softly, cupping his face. "I’m such a great beauty, isn’t it normal for you to love me? Husband, if you didn’t love me, I’d have to wonder if there was something wrong with you... or if your back was failing you." She teased him, whispering a few more words into his ear.
At her words, Javier Sinclair raised a slight eyebrow.
He looked up at her with a threatening expression.
Javier Sinclair lowered his voice and whispered in her ear, "Are you saying my back is failing me?"
Celeste Grant quickly waved her hands and laughed, shaking her head. "No, not at all... I was just teasing. As if I wouldn’t know how good your back is."
He let out a soft chuckle.
"Then I’ll just have to show you how good my back is."
As soon as Javier Sinclair finished speaking, he waved his hand, and in an instant, Celeste Grant found herself in a different place.
She glanced around. This was their bedroom, and they were now on the bed. Her body was sinking into the soft bedding.
Javier Sinclair propped himself up on one hand beside her, his body pressing down on hers. Before her was his handsome face, tinged with a hint of roguishness. His ink-black hair cascaded over his shoulders like satin, brushing against her own shoulders and cheeks.
His eyes, now gazing at her, were fervent and serious. He was studying her, his gaze gentle yet filled with a sense of determined possession.
She reached out, her fingers gently caressing the side of his face. Celeste Grant took the initiative, lifting her head to plant a kiss on his cheek. "What are you looking at? Come here."
She wrapped an arm around his neck and pulled him closer.
He pressed his forehead against Celeste Grant’s, his voice low and deep.
"Celeste... you’re very different tonight."
His voice was slightly hoarse when he spoke.
Celeste Grant smiled, her gentle eyes reflecting his image. She said, "What’s wrong? I take the initiative for once, and you don’t like it? If you don’t like it, you can go sleep on the floor. Then this bed will be all mine."
His large hand seized Celeste Grant’s wrist.
"What nonsense are you talking? I love you no matter what you’re like, Celeste. As for now, let me show you just how good my back is."
As he spoke, he waved his hand, and the bed curtains fell.
Celeste Grant felt an arm tighten around her waist as he pulled her into his embrace. His kiss was forceful and urgent... The night was long....
That night, Javier Sinclair demonstrated with his actions, teaching Celeste Grant that some things should not be said lightly.
「Elsewhere.」
That same night, after Aaron Sinclair returned to his quarters, he found it hard to sleep.
Aaron Sinclair lay in bed, staring wide-eyed at the canopy, not a hint of sleepiness in him. His thoughts turned to that so-called true young master in the General’s Mansion. ’Since I can’t sleep,’ he mused, ’I might as well do something to lift my spirits.’
He sat up, got dressed, and opened the door to leave.
Standing in the doorway, Aaron Sinclair glanced at the moonlit sky and gestured for a Hidden Guard to appear.
"Young Master, what are your orders?"
He leaned in and whispered a few words in the other’s ear. The Hidden Guard beside him nodded repeatedly, then grabbed his shoulder. The two of them leaped over the wall, their figures quickly vanishing into the night.
When they reappeared, they were already in Arthur Jacobs’s courtyard. The Hidden Guard flicked a few small stones from his hand, and the maids and guards in Arthur Jacobs’s courtyard froze in place as if they had been petrified.
Inside his room, Arthur Jacobs was also wide awake. His mind was consumed with the thought of his biological parents wanting to send him away.
’No... I can’t let them send me away.’
’I worked so hard to find my real family and come here.’
He had a system; a meteoric rise was only a matter of time. From the very beginning, Arthur Jacobs had only ever seen the General’s Mansion as a stepping stone, a shortcut. But now, he was discovering that this General’s Mansion couldn’t help him much after all.
’And that father of mine is so short-sighted. He has no idea what kind of opportunity I hold in my hands. Why can’t he just try to understand me?’
Just as his mind was in turmoil,
a knocking sound suddenly came from the door. KNOCK KNOCK.
"Who is it?"
No one answered.
He thought it was just the wind.
He ignored it.
The next moment, the KNOCK KNOCK sound came again.
"Who is it? Can’t you speak? Are you looking to die?"
Arthur Jacobs got out of bed. There was only a single candle flame in the room. Suddenly, a gust of wind blew the candle out. As he looked up, he saw the shadow of a massive head cast upon his door.
A sinister voice drifted to his ears.
"Woooo... Woooo..."
"I’m so cold... so cold... Arthur Jacobs, come down and keep me company."
The voice was ethereal.
And somewhat familiar.
’Is that... Nathan Jacobs’s voice? No, impossible. How could I be hearing his voice? He’s already dead. He died out there.’
"Guards...!"
No one answered him.
"Who’s playing ghost?"
The next moment, the door was suddenly blown open, and a puff of white smoke drifted in. At the same time, a figure appeared, floating in the doorway. He couldn’t see the upper body, only the lower half and a pair of legs dangling back and forth.
It was the dead of night, and a pair of feet were swaying in the doorway. With the wind blowing outside, the scene was filled with a chilling, ghostly aura.
Arthur Jacobs was too scared to speak, sitting there frozen stiff.
"Heheheh..."
A sinister laugh echoed, and the voice suddenly turned cold, as gloomy as a vengeful spirit. "I’m so cold down here. Arthur Jacobs, why don’t you come keep me company?"
Seeing this, Arthur Jacobs, still on his bed, felt his pupils shrink and his eyes fly wide open. In that instant, the hairs on his body stood on end, and a chill ran down his spine.
Just as the voice faded, the dangling feet at the door vanished. Suddenly, an upside-down head appeared in their place, a bloody maw of a mouth stretched wide as it grinned at him.
Terrified, Arthur Jacobs screamed.
"A ghost... There’s a ghost! Aahhh!"
"Guards! There’s a ghost!"
"Nathan Jacobs’s ghost has come for me! It’s Nathan Jacobs’s ghost!"
The voice continued to bore into his ears.
"Arthur Jacobs... Give me back my life."
"Heheheh... I died so horribly... Give me back my life."
The voice truly sounded like that of a soul-reaping ghost.
"Guards... Guards!"
He called for help.
His calls were met with dead silence, as if he were the only person in the entire courtyard. It felt as though he had been transported to the underworld, his body frozen stiff, unable to move anything but his eyes.
