Pregnant Cultivator, Doted by Big Boss
Chapter 676 - 674: Her Identity
Chapter 676: Chapter 674: Her Identity
Before Celeste Grant could speak, she heard Javier Sinclair say, "Before I came to the Demon Realm, I met someone. He was something of a Celestria, and he could tell you were special. He’d read about your Spirit Root’s origins and history in the ancient texts. That’s why I also looked through a few dusty old books I had lying in a corner and learned that your bloodline has a Seal on it."
Celeste Grant nodded slightly. "Oh, so that’s what happened. But what does this have to do with my Spirit Root?"
"It has everything to do with it." Javier Sinclair glanced at her and explained, "That Spirit Root of yours that can grow from the top of your head—it hasn’t actually mutated. We thought your Spirit Root had mutated before, but that’s not the case."
Celeste Grant raised an eyebrow slightly.
"Oh? So it’s not a Spirit Root mutation?"
He nodded slightly.
"No. That Spirit Root of yours that can grow straight from your head is a Wisteria Flower. It comes from the Ancient Eastwood Clan, one of the Ancient God clans from the Ancient Times. It’s an inherited talent, something you were born with. I read in the ancient texts that with this talent, in the later stages, your cultivation level will increase on its own without you even having to cultivate. It’s endless."
Celeste Grant’s eyes lit up.
"That sounds exactly like what I’m feeling right now. I can definitely feel it—my cultivation level increases on its own even when I do nothing, even when I’m just sleeping. So it’s all because of my Spirit Root’s talent."
At this, she couldn’t help but laugh. "Hahaha... ’Vicious female supporting character’? No, no, I’m clearly the top dog with cheat codes. In other words, once I undo this... inherited Seal, I’m going to be insanely strong."
Javier Sinclair nodded slightly. "Mm, you could put it that way. In a sense, it is indeed very powerful. Once you master the Power of Space-Time Law, you can travel freely through time and space as you please. You could come and go from all the myriad realms without a trace."
’Traveling freely through all sorts of times and spaces... A power like that is basically the ultimate travel essential, tailor-made for me.’
Suddenly, she thought of something. Staring at Javier Sinclair, she started to laugh.
"Hehe."
Javier Sinclair raised an eyebrow, baffled by her laugh. ’He had a feeling this woman was about to stir up some trouble again.’
Celeste Grant let out a soft chuckle and hooked his chin with her finger. She leaned in a little closer, her lips parting as she whispered, "Archfiend, do you think I’ll be able to beat you then?"
"..."
At her words, Javier Sinclair fell silent. His expression froze for a moment; he was so stunned it felt like his brain had short-circuited.
’Did I do something wrong? Why is it that the moment my wife gets a powerful ability, her first thought is whether she can beat me?’
’This isn’t right, is it?’
He wrapped a large hand around her waist, pulling her slightly closer. His gaze swept across her beautiful face, and he smiled, saying softly, "Celeste Grant, you’re getting ahead of yourself."
Celeste Grant raised an eyebrow. "Unh-hunh? With Ancient Divine Power on the line, can’t I get a little ahead of myself?"
Javier Sinclair put on a serious expression and spoke the truth. "My lady, wanting to beat me... that might be unrealistic. I fought my way through the entirety of the Ancient Times. Why do you think they call me the Demon God?"
"You’re pretty pleased with yourself, aren’t you, Archfiend?"
Celeste Grant chuckled, her face suddenly serious. "Can I really not beat you? I’ll give you a chance to rephrase that."
Javier Sinclair chuckled and reached out to pat her head. He placed a hand over his heart and said with the utmost seriousness, "Does that even need to be said? You can... Of course you can."
Celeste Grant glanced at him and said, "Please use a sentence—no, a paragraph—to describe how powerful I am. Oh, and you have to use figurative language."
’I...’
Javier Sinclair: "..."
’This... I have to describe it, too? I’m the supreme ruler of the Demon Realm! Don’t I have any dignity to maintain?’
"Ahem... The power my lady commands is something I have rarely seen in my entire life. From the Ancient Times until now, those who could stand against me could be counted on one hand, and you, my lady, would be the first among them. Not only are you immensely powerful, but your beauty is so exquisite it stirs the heart of any who see you. You are the gentlest, kindest, and most beautiful woman I have ever met. As for myself, I may look like I have some power, but in truth, I’m just a paper tiger. With your strength, my lady, you could defeat me in a single move and make me kneel and sing ’Conquer’."
’Dignity? What’s that? Can you eat it?’
When it came to making his wife happy, he was a professional.
Javier Sinclair said it all with a completely earnest and serious expression. Anyone who didn’t know better would have thought he was telling the truth.
His antics made Celeste Grant burst out laughing. She couldn’t help but grab both his arms. "Hahaha... Javier Sinclair, you’re really one of a kind. All right, I’ll admit you know what’s good for you. This is killing me! ’Defeat you in a single move and make you kneel and sing "Conquer."’"
"Hahaha..."
Still laughing, Celeste Grant flopped onto her side on the bed.
"I can’t... I need to lie down for a bit."
He propped himself up on one hand beside her, looking down at her. "What are you laughing at? I was telling the truth." As he spoke, he reached out to gently stroke her cheek, then leaned down to place a kiss on her forehead. "I don’t know about anyone else, but when it comes to you, my lady, I’ll always be the one who loses."
Celeste Grant reached up and cupped his face.
"Javier Sinclair, you’ve gotten so good with these sweet nothings."
"I’ve always been a quick study."
Celeste Grant’s gaze fell on his face. She gently traced his jawline with her finger and said with a small smile, "You know... I kind of miss the old Javier Sinclair, the one who said he wasn’t interested in me."
Javier Sinclair blushed.
’Looks like you really can’t speak too soon, or your own words will come back to bite you.’
Grasping her hand, he said softly, "That wasn’t me. Don’t talk nonsense." He quickly added, "That was Ex-Husband. No, wait, Ex-Ex-Husband. I am the Demon God. Don’t get us confused."
"So whenever there’s blame to be had, it’s the ’Ex-Husband’s’ fault, is that it?" As she spoke, Celeste Grant wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer. "If you really want to make distinctions, darling, who do you think I like more? The ex, the ex-ex, or the you right now?"
Her question truly stumped Javier Sinclair. He looked at her, his gaze sharp. "Celeste Grant, you’d better explain yourself. What do you mean, ’who I like more’? You can’t possibly have a favorite."
"That’s hard to say. Let me think about it."
He stared at her.
"You have to think about it? Do you actually prefer a different version of me?"
Seeing him genuinely mulling it over, practically dying of jealousy at himself, Celeste Grant didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. "You’re so cute, Archfiend. I was just teasing, and you actually believed me."
He frowned slightly.
"So, who do you like more, my lady?"
Celeste Grant rolled her eyes at him.
"It’s always been you from start to finish, hasn’t it? Every version of you is still you. I only have one husband. You’re the one who created this experience of having three husbands at once. Okay, I’ll stop teasing. I like every version of you."
Javier Sinclair was satisfied.
His eyes held a hint of a smile.
"Whether it’s a clone or my true self, it’s all me. You can’t favor one over the other. If you like one even a little bit more, I’ll get jealous." As he spoke, he leaned down and kissed her on the lips.
It was a gentle kiss.
But after a moment, he pulled back and said seriously, "Actually, I wouldn’t mind if you liked the current me a little more."
