Ning Shu saw many skeleton frames drilling out from the ground. Under the moonlight, these skeletons appeared incomparably, eerily white as they crawled up from the earth.

How did you guys drill out of a concrete floor?

Song Mo stiffly turned his head and saw a massive number of skeleton frames appearing behind him, approaching step by step.

The mouths of the skeleton frames were opening and closing, making clicking and clacking sounds.

“Hurry up and open the door,” Ning Shu shouted at Song Mo. Song Mo’s hands were trembling continuously. Ning Shu reached through the gap in the iron gate and snatched the key from his hand to open the door.

Song Mo pressed tightly against the iron gate. Seeing the army of skeletons surging toward him was truly terrifying.

With a click, Ning Shu unlocked the iron gate. She opened the door, preparing to go out just as Song Mo wanted to come in. The two bumped into each other. Ning Shu crashed directly into Song Mo’s chest, making him let out a muffled groan.

“Go inside. There are so many skeletons outside,” Song Mo said, pushing Ning Shu back inside. Ning Shu shook her head. “Go outside. It is even more dangerous in the dorm.”

Heaven knew what else would appear in the dorm, and there was absolutely no logic to any of it anyway.

“There are zombies in the building.” Her roommates had also come out.

“Zombies?” Song Mo had a bewildered expression.

The skeleton army drew closer and closer. Everyone was so frightened that their faces turned deathly pale. Song Mo groped for the club at his feet and swung it right at the nearest skeleton. The skeleton frame was unexpectedly brittle. With just one strike, it completely fell apart.

It was all show and no substance.

Song Mo also felt there was nothing to be afraid of. He swung the club in wide arcs, wildly smashing the skeletons.

Ning Shu picked up a thigh bone. This thigh bone was very long. Ning Shu figured that when this skeleton was alive, it definitely had long legs.

Ning Shu held the thigh bone and wildly smashed at the skeletons, striving to clear a path.

She did not want to be trapped in the dormitory building.

Her two roommates also gathered their courage. They grabbed leg bones to smash the skeleton frames.

Although the bone frames were brittle and made a crisp cracking sound when shattered, much like when one was chewing on chips, there were simply too many of them. The four of them were so exhausted they could not even lift their hands, but there were still so, so many bone frames left. Breaking out was a bit difficult.

While panting heavily, Song Mo said to Ning Shu, “We cannot get out. We will be overwhelmed by the skeleton army.”

“Then we go back to the dorm?” Subconsciously, Ning Shu felt the dorm was a safe place. However, with so many things inside the dorm, she also felt this subconscious notion was incredibly unreliable.

“Let’s go back to the dorm then,” the two roommates said in unison.

Ning Shu shattered a skeleton. “But there are ghosts, zombies, and corpse bugs in the dorm. Who knows what else will pop out?”

Clatter, clatter…

Heaven knew what kind of power destroyed these skeleton frames. All of the skeletons fell apart into white bones, lying in a tangled mess and piling up into a thick layer of bones on the ground.

The endless expanse of white bones piled up on the ground like this was truly horrifying.

Leave or stay? Ning Shu made a prompt decision. She stepped on the white bones and prepared to run. It still was not dawn yet. Ning Shu looked up at the moon in the sky. It seemed to be completely motionless, yet it also seemed to have shifted a little.

In this exceptionally agonizing night, Ning Shu felt she might not even live to see the dawn. There might even simply be no daytime here.

Ning Shu stepped on rib bones, shoulder blades, hand bones, leg bones, and all sorts of other bones to leave the girls’ dormitory building.

However, as she walked, the bones under her feet began to vibrate. Then, all the bones flew into the air.

Ning Shu’s foot slipped, and she fell to the ground with a thud. She quickly scrambled up and raised her head, watching all the bones gather together to form a gigantic White Bone Spirit made entirely of white bones.

“Oh my god, run…”

Ning Shu turned around and ran straight toward the dorm. Right now, there seemed to be nowhere else to run. They could only run back to the dorm.

This bone giant was incredibly massive, even taller than the dormitory building. It lifted its foot to stomp on the four of them.

Ning Shu pumped her legs in a mad dash. She ran inside the dormitory building and locked the door with a click.

Ning Shu panted heavily. Although this dormitory was also a very dangerous place, the consciousness of ‘I’ felt that the dorm was at least safe and could fend off some monsters, such as this monster formed from white bones.

The bone monster roared. Reaching out its hands, it shook the entire building. It shook the building so hard that it swayed, and cracks appeared one after another on the walls.

“Ahhhh…” Screams from upstairs rose and fell in succession. Various noises mixed together. There were the roars of zombies and the weeping sounds of ghosts. All sorts of heart-wrenching noises combined into a cacophony that could cause a mental breakdown.

The sharp sounds pierced directly into their ears, making them feel incredibly uncomfortable, as if their very hearts were curling up tightly.

“Shi Mei, behind you…” Song Mo swung his club toward Ning Shu’s back. Ning Shu turned her head, only to see the livid-faced, fanged female jiangshi reaching out to choke her neck.

When did she run inside?

Song Mo used his club to strike the female jiangshi. However, the female jiangshi that could be knocked out earlier was now invulnerable. The club had absolutely no effect on her. The club in Song Mo’s hand actually snapped in two, utterly failing to shake the Jiangshi in the slightest.

Ning Shu was choked by the jiangshi to the point of being unable to breathe. Holding the Fengyou Essence, she splashed it right at the jiangshi‘s eyes. The Fengyou Essence splattered onto the jiangshi‘s face and into her eyes. A sizzling sound instantly rang out. The invulnerable jiangshi was corroded by the Fengyou Essence.

The jiangshi was in excruciating pain. Green smoke billowed from her face as she released the hands choking Ning Shu’s neck.

Ning Shu bent over and coughed while leaning against the wall. Her throat burned fiercely, and her neck had almost been snapped.

The female jiangshi convulsed on the ground. Finally, she actually twitched violently twice and died.

The dorm supervisor was dead!?

Although one threat had been dealt with, Ning Shu truly felt extremely helpless. Why did Fengyou Essence have this kind of effect?

It made it impossible for Ning Shu to ignore it, no matter how hard she tried.

How was she supposed to look at Fengyou Essence in the future!?

“Sulfuric acid?” Song Mo had a bewildered expression. Wafts of a chilly breeze mixed with the foul stench of a corpse rushed into his nasal cavity.

“Uh, Fengyou Essence,” Ning Shu said.

The bone giant was still shaking the building, rocking it back and forth unsteadily. In the hands of the skeleton, the building was like a toy. All sorts of things crashed to the ground with a clatter.

This building was going to be shaken apart by the bone giant, wasn’t it?

Ning Shu picked up the broken wooden club on the ground and sprinkled some Fengyou Essence on the sharp end. Then she opened the iron gate, preparing to rush out and kill this thing. After all, what if the building really collapsed?

“What are you doing?” Song Mo grabbed Ning Shu’s arm.

“I am going to give it a try.” Since the setting of Fengyou Essence was a divine artifact anyway, why not make good use of it?

Ning Shu truly felt a bizarre sense of awkwardness that completely broke her immersion.

“I will go,” Song Mo said, snatching at the wooden club in Ning Shu’s hand. Ning Shu did not let go. “No need.”

Looking like a frail, weak scholar with a pale, scrawny build like a boiled chicken, she thought, ‘Are you sure you can handle this?’

“I’ll go,” Song Mo said, refusing to back down.

“Alright, you go.” Ning Shu let go.

Song Mo: …

Song Mo gripped the wooden club with both hands. He took a deep breath, his fingers twitching as he squeezed the club tightly.
