Ranaway From Wedding, Fell into Tycoon's Love Trap

Chapter 1580: Shan’er! I’m So Happy

  • Next Chapter

Thomas Fisher looked at Alice Turner with eager anticipation, hoping she would give him a satisfying answer.

"Okay."

Alice’s voice was very soft, but her tone and attitude were especially firm.

Hearing Alice say okay, Thomas got so excited that he pulled her into his arms. "Alice! I’m so happy, you’re finally my wife."

He was so worked up that his exclamation came out really loud.

Thomas’s joyful shout drifted all the way into the dining room. Lily Turner’s face lit up with a delighted smile.

Her big sister had finally found her own happiness and would finally be able to be with the man she loved.

"Assistant Yang! Will you have a drink with me?" Lily was too happy; she picked up her own wine glass, wanting to share this joy with someone.

But she’d been holding up her glass for ages and still hadn’t gotten any response.

Confused, she lifted her eyes and glanced over. Only then did she notice the other woman had her head down, as if she were dwelling on something unhappy, looking all gloomy and dejected.

Lily put the wine glass back down on the table, stood up, and walked over. She sat down in the chair next to Grace Young. "What’s wrong? Did something happen?"

"Uh... no, no."

A voice suddenly sounded right beside her, startling Grace out of her thoughts. She instinctively turned toward the voice, and Lily’s worried expression instantly filled her vision.

"If something’s bothering you, just say it. Don’t treat us like outsiders." Lily said gently.

Grace shook her head. "Nothing really happened. I just suddenly realized I’m about to part ways with President Turner, and I’m feeling a bit reluctant."

Even though she’d only been Alice’s assistant for two short years, Grace had already been her colleague for five. Five years was more than enough to build a deep camaraderie.

Just now Anthony had said he’d already helped Alice resign, and he’d clearly stated that Alice didn’t need to go to Derry Kingdom tomorrow. Grace really did feel lost and miserable.

"So that’s it. I thought..."

Lily let out a long breath of relief and reached up to pat Grace’s shoulder. "Don’t be sad. Technology is so advanced now, and there are so many easy ways to stay in touch. You can contact my sister anytime you want."

Just then, Alice and Thomas walked into the dining room hand in hand. "Hey, little sister-in-law! I’m here to scrounge a meal. There’s a portion for me, right?"

"Of course there is, brother-in-law!"

Knowing her sister was finally going to get their Marriage Certificate with this man, Lily called him "brother-in-law" even more happily and easily.

He’d been sulking alone in the hotel at noon and hadn’t eaten a thing. He’d originally planned to take her out for a nice meal that afternoon, but then that whole incident happened.

When he got home just now, he was scolded by his mom, which killed whatever appetite he had left.

Having skipped two meals, Thomas was now so hungry his chest practically stuck to his back. He walked over and casually took a seat on a chair, his gaze sliding over the bowls and chopsticks on the table. "Alice! Which set of tableware is yours?"

"This one."

As she spoke, Alice moved her own set of tableware in front of Thomas. The whole movement was generous and open, without the slightest hint of shyness.

"Then I’m digging in."

Thomas didn’t stand on ceremony and didn’t care that other people were still around. He lowered his head and started eating the delicious dishes on the table.

"Sis, when are you and brother-in-law planning to hold the wedding?" Just now she’d only heard them mention getting the Marriage Certificate; they hadn’t said a word about the wedding itself.

The Marriage Certificate was important, but the wedding was important too.

Lily was anxious on her sister’s behalf.
