Chapter 1587: I Know How to Handle My Own Affairs

"Anthony! Let me drive you there."

Benjamin Shaw chased after him, intent on driving Anthony to fetch his phone, but her goodwill was refused by him. "Benjamin, no need. You stay here and take care of Mr. Shaw. I’ll just take a cab."

After speaking, he waved his hand at her and turned to leave.

Once Anthony’s figure disappeared from her sight completely, Charlotte Shaw turned back to the hospital room.

After entering, she opened her mouth to scold Benjamin Shaw a few times, but upon seeing his weak and pale appearance, she swallowed the reproach back down.

Benjamin Shaw didn’t want to speak. He glanced at his sister, closed his eyes, and began to pretend to sleep.

Understanding that he didn’t want to talk, she didn’t make a sound to disturb his wish for quiet. She walked over to the sofa, sat down, and began to scroll through the WeChat Moments on her phone.

"Did you call him over?"

After a long silence, Benjamin Shaw suddenly spoke, startling Charlotte Shaw who was browsing WeChat Moments.

After a moment, she realized it was her brother asking her a question.

Charlotte Shaw didn’t bother to close WeChat, immediately turned towards the hospital bed, "I didn’t call him over. He came on his own accord."

She had only told him the hospital’s address, and nothing more.

"You’re not to say much to him. I know how to handle my own affairs."

Benjamin Shaw glanced at his sister sitting on the sofa, closed his eyes, and resumed pretending to sleep.

What did she say? Even if she said something, wasn’t it for his benefit? How could he be so unappreciative?

Charlotte Shaw rolled her eyes in dissatisfaction at Benjamin Shaw, angrily sitting properly on the sofa. She now had no interest in browsing Moments.

Buzzz!

Just as she was about to toss the phone aside, the phone suddenly buzzed.

Charlotte Shaw picked up the phone to look at it, and seeing Alice Turner’s name displayed on the screen, quickly answered the call, "Alice! Why are you..."

Upon hearing Charlotte Shaw call out Alice’s name, Benjamin Shaw snapped his eyes open, his gaze immediately locking onto his sister.

"Charlotte! Are you at the hospital right now?"

Not waiting for Charlotte Shaw to finish speaking, Alice Turner interrupted her anxiously.

"I am at the hospital. What’s wrong? Is something the matter?"

Even through the phone, Charlotte Shaw sensed Alice Turner’s worry and anxiety. Not knowing what the situation was, she too began to feel concerned.

Alice Turner wasn’t in the mood to worry about anything else. Hearing Charlotte Shaw was at the hospital, she immediately asked, "Is Jacob there?"

"Jacob did come to the hospital, but he left just now." Charlotte Shaw truthfully informed the person on the other end of the line.

Learning Anthony came to the hospital, Alice Turner let out a long sigh of relief, but before she could express her relief, her heart tightened again because of Charlotte Shaw’s words, "How long ago did he leave?"

"It’s been over ten minutes or so."

Charlotte Shaw looked at the time on her phone, confirming decisively.

"Didn’t he say anything to you when he left?" That kid came alone, certainly didn’t say anything to Alice, otherwise Alice wouldn’t be this worried.

Charlotte Shaw, seeing Anthony come alone to the hospital earlier, thought Alice Turner didn’t want to come to the hospital, so he came alone.

Looking at the situation now, apparently that kid sneaked to the hospital without telling Alice.

Why did that kid choose to come sneakily?
