Chapter 1448: Chapter 1448: The Foolish Monarch

"What else can I do? I can only keep pampering you," Charles Seymour said with a doting smile in his eyes. He kissed her lips and added, "Sleep."

After flying and taking care of the little one, Sophie must be tired.

Sophie Wilson smiled and raised her leg directly, hooking someone: "Actually, I’m not that tired. How about we do something else?"

Charles Seymour’s eyes darkened, and he spoke in a low and husky voice, "Happy to oblige."

In the second half of the night, Sophie Wilson had an exceptionally good sleep.

By the time Sophie Wilson woke up, it was broad daylight with the sun shining brightly.

She yawned, turned over to hug Charles Seymour’s pillow, inhaling his scent and unable to suppress a sweet smile.

Feeling a bit of his absence.

Sophie thought of this, reached for her phone in the nightstand drawer, pressed it, and the call was answered after just two rings, the voice she so missed saying, "Awake?"

"Mm," Sophie Wilson replied, still with a nasal tone from just waking up, lazily seductive, sparking memories in Charles Seymour’s mind of last night—or rather, the early morning’s events—making the surrounding air seem a bit warm.

"And you’re heading to work without a day’s rest, aren’t you tired? Don’t overwork yourself," Sophie lazily advised him, since they’re not short of money, her man being too tired would mean heartache for her.

"Not tired," Charles Seymour’s voice was tinged with obvious joy, "I’m just here to check on things; nothing much at the company."

"Good, that’s great." Sophie Wilson was relieved.

Charles Seymour was concerned about her: "Stop the call now, get up and eat something. If you’re still sleepy, take another nap."

"Alright, darling." Sophie Wilson laughed and reminded him again, "Don’t overwork yourself, I’m going to eat."

Having said this, Sophie Wilson hung up the call.

Over on Charles Seymour’s end, receiving Sophie’s sweet call left him feeling immensely energized.

"Boss, there are some documents and things..." Jim Perry called in, reporting on the tasks below.

"Yeah, handle them slowly, no rush," Charles Seymour said.

"No rush?" Jim Perry looked at the tasks at hand with confusion, "Pushing these off a bit is fine, but they still need to be addressed."

Jim Perry asked, "Boss, is there something more urgent coming up?"

"Well, sort of." Charles Seymour’s ambiguous words suddenly gave Jim Perry a bad premonition. Just as the feeling arose, he heard his boss say, "Sophie asked me not to overwork."

Jim Perry took deep breaths repeatedly to suppress the impulse to rush to Charles Seymour’s office and hit him.

This guy, who since meeting Sophie Wilson, often skips work, is actually talking about not being too tired?

Who has been the most exhausted during this time?

"Boss, I believe with your ability, handling these tasks won’t be too tiring, and you can complete them efficiently, allowing your wife to fully appreciate your charm and capability. It’s a great opportunity to showcase your strength!" Jim Perry said through gritted teeth.

After two seconds of silence on the phone, it was said, "Bring it over."

Jim Perry angrily hung up the call, this shameless ’faint king’!
