Rebirth in Famine: She Thrives by Lucky Space
Chapter 1546: Work
It really is a tremendous gain, this time we can solve things for a lot of people again.
Old Yang and the others talked for four hours straight; it was already time to go home, yet Feng Yongqiang had no intention of stopping.
Old Yang was anxious, but he knew he couldn’t show it. Feng Yongqiang might speak today, but after tonight, nobody knows what might happen—better to resolve it today.
During the conversation, Old Yang directly handed a cigarette to Feng Yongqiang and poured him water several times.
“Old Yang, don’t you think this is self-inflicted? If you hadn’t come, I was prepared to keep silent until the end.”
“Take care. Is there anything you need? If I can bring it for you, I’ll definitely help.”
Feng Yongqiang shook his head, “No need, I don’t need anything. Now that it’s come to this, it’s better to just stay grounded.”
Old Yang nodded, and Liu Xiaodong came over to have him review the transcript, then asked him to sign and press his fingerprint. Two people came over to escort Feng Yongqiang away.
Old Yang sat for a while before he got up. Liu Xiaodong handed the transcript to Old Yang.
“Should it be submitted today?”
“Tomorrow’s fine; everyone’s off work now. But the transcript must be locked by the night shift staff today.”
Old Yang nodded knowingly. Only then did the two leave the place.
Actually, Old Yang was feeling very upset. They were still young back then, training together—they were people you could truly entrust your back to. How unexpected that things would turn out this way; it’s really a shame.
After finishing the archiving, the two finally headed home from work.
Old Yang cycled quickly, wondering how his wife did on her first day of class.
But no matter how anxious he was, when he got home, Zhao Xiaoli was already waiting for him.
Today, Old Yang performed quite well. But not as outstanding as Wei Kaiyun.
Wei Kaiyun spent the whole day reviewing documents. However, he found several issues. The people from the Ministry of Finance clock out on time, but Wei Kaiyun didn’t want to stand out too much—his wife and kids at home must be worried about him today.
On the way home, he kept pondering whether anything went wrong today.
When he got home, the family was waiting for him to have dinner.
“Don’t wait for me in the future, you can eat without me.”
The family sat around the table to have dinner.
“Feifei, how are your classmates?”
“They’re okay. I’m going to college to learn.”
Hearing that his daughter was adjusting well, he felt relieved.
That night, Wei Kaiyun cuddled with his wife, “Xinyu, I feel so constrained at work.”
Jiang Xinyu laughed, “Can you not go?”
The question annoyed Wei Kaiyun, his wife didn’t care about him.
The next morning meeting, Wei Kaiyun directly pointed out several flawed plans.
Some people were dissatisfied, feeling like Wei Kaiyun was trying to make waves as a new appointee.
Wei Kaiyun ignored them entirely, stating each of his opinions in detail.
Everyone knew this newcomer was not someone without intellect.
Wei Kaiyun had already thought it through last night; since he’s unhappy with his job, he might as well make himself happy. Let them adjust to him.
He was originally parachuted in, these people were already wary of him.
Having worked in society for so long, is there anything he can’t see?
His actions displeased Qi Guangye a bit, but he held his tongue since the issues Wei Kaiyun pointed out were reasonable.
On the second day of school, Feifei had lunch in the cafeteria; going back and forth was too troublesome, so at home, only mom was there with the younger siblings, along with Master Shang, for lunch.
As she walked out of the classroom, she saw Yang Run Tai, Han Jianbin, and her brother.
“Are you here to wait for me for lunch?”
The three nodded.
“Did your classes end earlier than ours? How come we just finished and I already see you here?”
The three simply laughed.
All four of them carried lunchboxes, their combination attracted a lot of attention.
“In the future, just wait for me in the cafeteria.” Why come here; can’t you see many female classmates sneaking a peek at them? Perhaps they want to find girlfriends here?
That’s indeed possible. Just that her brother is a bit younger, the other two could find girlfriends.
The school’s meals were pretty decent. Four people ate together.
“Feifei, have any male classmates bothered you?” Jianbin asked quite directly.
Jiang Feifei laughed and shook her head, “No, I didn’t really notice, barely enough time to study?”
Actually, the three were slightly concerned.
Given the literature department has fewer males, plus, they’ve checked out the male classmates in Feifei’s class. Anyway, they believe none would have the courage to harass Feifei.
Meanwhile, the whole family was busy, with Jiang Xinyu being the busiest. Now that Han Xiangjun had gone South, the preparation for the winery had started over there, so Jiang Xinyu’s in charge of everything here. She still had to return to cook for the elder and the kids at home.
Wei Kaiyun felt bad for his wife, considering hiring a nanny, so they’d feel secure with Shang Zhenkun at home during the day.
But finding the right person wasn’t easy. Someone with poor character can’t be trusted at home.
Now Feifei and the others are particularly busy—school life is vibrant, with various clubs and competitions for class officers, as well as student council members. The three boys are especially active.
Jiang Feifei is indifferent to all these; she’s focused on studying now.
Yet she is the top scorer and a rare beauty, so many clubs invite her.
Feifei still wasn’t interested. This noon, when the four had lunch, Feifei didn’t have much appetite. She ended up portioning her meal to Shi Jing.
“Why don’t you feel like eating today?” While the school meals were really not impressive to them, Feifei wasn’t choosy about food.
“Just don’t feel like it. Brother, eat more.”
“What’s the matter?”
“There are many clubs approaching me. But I’m not interested, and I’ve turned down a lot.”
Shi Jing understood Feifei’s meaning—she was annoyed.
“Feifei, if you don’t join a club, more will invite you in the future.” Yang Run Tai advised the young girl, Jiang Feifei certainly understood this principle.
But really, she wasn’t fond of it.
After finishing lunch, there was noon’s break time. Jiang Feifei didn’t like being around so many people, so she went straight to the library.
Jianbin wanted to join Feifei, but she refused.
“You’re just going to read; do what you have to do.”
Seeing Feifei’s helpless expression, Shi Jing and Jianbin didn’t follow.
Yet Yang Run Tai didn’t care—when Feifei reached the library and picked out a book, Yang Run Tai sat opposite her with a stack of newspapers.
In the vast library, the only sound was of books flipping and papers rustling. Jiang Feifei just glanced at Yang Run Tai, then continued reading her own book.
