"I don’t know either, haha...!"

The servant boy was afraid the old man would punish him, so he kept a smiling face, though that kind of smile was even worse than crying.

Being a servant is like this; one’s fate can’t be controlled by oneself, whatever the master says goes, and there’s no room for objection.

"Hurry downstairs and bring the food back up, or are you trying to starve me to death?" The old man roared, this servant was completely unaware, having eaten all the master’s food.

He was already sad and upset, and now hungry, which made him even more irritable.

Just as the servant boy walked out, he immediately sat up from bed, muttering to himself, "No, I can’t sit here and wait for death, I have to go out and find out if my two sons were killed by the Princess Consort."

While speaking, he got up and dressed, preparing to go out and investigate, at this moment he forgot all about his hunger.

"Thump, thump, thump...!"

As he was going downstairs, he happened to run into the servant boy bringing the food up, who was surprised to see him heading out, and asked, "Old Master, where are you going?"

"I have some business to attend to!"

"Your breakfast!"

"You eat it; I’m not eating!"

With that, the old man hurriedly ran downstairs.

The servant boy looked at the food on the tray; having just been scolded by the Old Master, how could he dare eat it?

Besides, he was already full and not hungry at all.

"Where’s the Old Master going? No, I have to go to see." The servant boy turned around and went downstairs, leaving the food on the table in the lobby and sneakingly followed behind the old man.

If something really happened to the Left and Right Protectors, he wouldn’t bother serving this old man!

.......

The old man dashed out of the inn, ran wildly on the street, and quickly reached the gate of the War Prince’s Mansion but hesitated. How should he ask the Princess Consort? Should he directly ask her if she killed his sons?

Being so direct, not even a fool would admit it.

The old man thought it over and found this approach inappropriate; he might not uncover the truth and instead get harmed.

So, he slowly turned around again and wandered aimlessly along the street, eventually sitting down at a roadside tea house.

The tea house was very simple yet popular with the commoners, filled with people inside.

Everyone was drinking tea while listening to a storyteller narrate tales.

At the forefront of the tea house, there was a table with a book on it; the storyteller was a middle-aged man in a white long robe, fully dressed as a scholar, and he spoke eloquently, narrating the story vividly, flipping through his notebook while speaking...

"The story goes that the Heavenly Mountain Sect had a pair of brothers, nicknamed Thin and Fat Men; don’t judge them by their peculiar appearances, they’re very filial. One day, they left the Heavenly Mountain to cure their father’s illness and arrived near the Capital, encountering a couple..."

The old man was absent-mindedly drinking tea, but upon hearing this, his eyes widened; wasn’t this storyteller’s tale about him?

Thus, he attentively listened, only to hear later that the couple killed the Thin and Fat Men, tossing their bodies to the wolves, and was completely stunned.

Could it be that everything in last night’s letter was true, and the Princess Consort and Prince really killed his sons?

At that moment, he could no longer focus on drinking tea, slammed down the teacup in his hand, and leaped onto the stage, crazily grabbing the storyteller by the collar, shouting uncontrollably, "Speak, why did the War Prince and Princess Consort kill my sons?"

Suddenly, a person rushed up and grabbed him aggressively; the storyteller looked bewildered, saying, "Brother, what are you talking about? How is the Princess Consort and Prince killing your sons any of my business?"
