Chapter 1394: Big leap forwards

Underneath the very foundations of the Nation of Reborn laid the lair of the Shadows.

Here, all of the Shadow Orcs and their respective allies and resources were stored.

Now usually, this place was calm, perfectly depicting the unperturbed quality of the shadows.

But now, it was currently filled with a lot of activity. Shadow Orcs were moving to and fro their office desks, bringing all kinds of paperwork towards another Shadow Orc, who looked at the paperwork and inspected them for any mistakes.

There seemed to be no breaks with their work. They continued day and night, seemingly obsessed with the tasks that they had been given.

But despite that, these Shadow Orcs were not angry or disgruntled about the amount of overtime that they had to finish.

In fact, they weren’t even told to go overtime. It was of their own volition.

After all, the current mission that the Supreme Leader had given them was something that they’d been waiting for this entire time!

It was an all-out war against one of the strongest Conglomerate Subcompanies in the world! A company that was only at the cusp of being at the top of the world itself!

Their leader had now instructed them to unleash all of their strength, all of their cunning and their schemes, so that they could properly prepare for a war of this scale.

A chance. That’s what this was. A chance for them to finally give themselves a worthy opponent. Only then will they find themselves breaking through to the next level! They were actively searching for trials and tribulations, knowing that they’d grow stronger at the end of it all.

And not only that, but they also had something personal against Worcester Oscorpe.

They had long known that he was the one behind the schemes. He was the one who pushed the Western Pole company and the Ease of Vindication to fight against them with an unfair advantage.

They had used a Nascent Spirit cultivator, when it was forbidden to do so. Then, when they were about to lose, they also chose to blow themselves up hoping for the chance that the Rebornian soldiers would get caught up in the explosion!

Truly despicable! They wanted to use their power to get back at them. However, their Supreme Leader had told them to keep their hands to themselves. It was not the time for revenge, he told them.

And so, the Shadow Orcs stewed under the Nation of Reborn. They were seething with anger against Worcester and his company.

And now, it seemed that they would get the chance to do exactly that. Michael had finally given them the confirmation. Prepare for an all-out war against the Worcester Oscorpe Conglomerate.

Of course, the Shadow Orcs knew that their opponent was no simple matter. He was the leading heir of a Conglomerate! He basically had the power of the Oscorpe Conglomerate behind him, with the difference only being the size of their organization.

So, they knew that they had to be careful. They had to plan meticulously. Just like how they had planned against them. But unlike them, they were going to succeed.

"BU TO TO! We have made our preliminary investigations, sir."

Narito sat at his throne, looking down at the shadow Orc in front of him. "Go on."

"Their forces are very strong. But Worcester is very ambitious. He had spread his forces thin in an attempt to conquer a lot more territories. We can use this as our way to get close and defeat them from the inside out."

Narito looked at the stack of papers in his hands, before he nodded with satisfaction.

"You have made a good plan," Narito said. "Our Supreme Leader will be glad to learn that we can kill two birds with one stone with this..."

The Shadow Orc glowed with joy once he heard that. "Umm... sir... would it be alright for me to get rewarded for my troubles?"

Narito nodded. "Do not worry. A contribution this big will definitely not be ignored. You will be granted the title of a High Penumbra, with all the perks that this entails. If you need more GodForge pieces to break through, then they will be provided for you."

"Ummm... can I ask for one more thing?" the Shadow Orc asked. "Would it be possible for me to get a signed picture of our Supreme Leader? Preferably with his scent imprinted on it."

The Shadow Orc Chieftain nodded and smiled. "I see that you want to get a legendary item. Unfortunately, your contributions are not enough. Perhaps, during this war against the Worcesters, you will perform better."

"I definitely will! BU TO TO!"

The Shadow Orc had a look of complete and utter concentration. He had to have that picture!

Micheal looked through the plans that the Shadow Orcs had given him.

"I see... that is very clever," he said, complimenting Narito. "We will establish our footing in the elite society, while also luring the Worcester company closer so that we could defeat them."

The plan was simple. Using the territory that they got from their victory against the Western Pole and the Ease of Vindication company, they would finally establish their company in the elite society in the Upper Queens region.

Not only will this allow them to consolidate their new ranking as an Upper Echelon, but it will also allow them to position better in preparation against the Worcester company.

"We have our spies embedded in their society, sir. We have already confirmed that there are several high targets there that we can focus on."

Michael nodded. This was also good because once they establish their footing in that society, they’d much more easily be able to connect them to the Chasm Bridge, thereby increasing its prestige.

But of course, this plan was dependent on their military strength.

Their products, their business, Michael was confident with them. The only problem was with their army, which was still weaker compared to the Worcester Company.

But thankfully, now, they had the time chamber to make up for that.
