This man, known as the God of Conflict, certainly towered over humans. He was practically a giant. He sat back, his arms resting on the arms of the chair provided by the Meereens. He grunted in silence as the crowd muttered to each other above his head. They never seemed to stay silent with their moral judgment. This man, who was the God of Conflict, was also none other than the old man, Zha Feng’s sponsor.

“This young man has breezed through the entire Tower with no competition whatsoever. That all comes to an end now,” Moralus said.

The white crow on his right shoulder immediately began shaking, while the dark one on the left started cawing rather proudly, as though it enjoyed what was happening.

…

Jacob and Zha Feng still stood away from each other. This time around, neither of them moved. The old man was frail and could barely move around, but he was experienced in battle, judging by the way he studied the terrain and the way he held his weapon, which Jacob had now ascertained the staff to be.

Jacob used his system to look at the skill that Zha Feng possessed. As he observed it, he scratched his head lightly, as he found it to be somewhat troublesome.

Jacob knew instinctively that blindly attacking this man was practically useless, as it would never end. The solution was simpler than it seemed. To be able to defeat this man, Jacob would have to sever his connection to the Mirror World, and even then, it wouldn’t spell the end of this battle.

“What’s wrong, Sonny? Do you need some time to gather your strength and attack me?” The old man raised a brow as he dropped the staff to the floor, staring at Jacob keenly, as though studying the young man’s next move.

“Oh no, I’m just waiting for you to attack first. I do better when I’m on the defensive.” Jacob smiled knowingly. Attacking this man would only see him breaking mirrors infinitely.

He looked at the man’s staff. Although it seemed like a perfectly harmless stick in the old man’s grasp, the staff possessed a power of its own.

Zha Feng flashed a grin as an almost imperceptible glint appeared in his only open eye.

“Okay then, since you’re too scared to attack.”

Just as the man’s words ended, he raised his staff and, in one swift motion, slammed the business end on the ground.

This display was known as Time Lock. It was an ability that allowed Zha Feng to pause time whenever the staff was slammed against the ground. The only bottleneck was that the time lasted only three minutes. For an experienced warrior like Zha Feng, those three minutes were enough to destroy any opponent that faced him.

When the man felt that Jacob had been affected by his time-based attack, he decided to lunge in, no holds barred, staff first. Zha Feng was not one who enjoyed battles. He had lived long enough to see the ugly side of them and decided to end his opponents as quickly as possible.

A possibility he had not anticipated, though, was that Jacob was also a time wielder, and as such, these kinds of attacks would not work on the young man.

Zha Feng had already closed the gap between them significantly, waving his staff at Jacob, when Jacob reacted at the perfect time, dodged the attack, grabbed Zha Feng’s staff from his hand, and, all in one motion, snapped the weapon in half with his knee, rendering the effect of Time Lock utterly useless.

Zha Feng, as though he were no older than 20 years of age, jumped back a few paces, his long beard waving in the air. He had a slight frown on his face as he stood straight.

“I see I have underestimated you.” The man sighed. “But it is of no consequence.”

In that exact moment, a mirror formed beside the man, crystallizing until it was about his height, and then a reflection of himself passed an identical staff to him through the mirror.

Jacob furrowed his brows. This was entertaining, but it was time already to make a move of his own. He was just going to have to do it.

Jacob smiled at Zha Feng, who was wondering why Jacob was not currently shaking in his boots, but also commended his bravery.

Imperceptibly, Jacob replaced his body with a clone and used his Time-Space Correlation ability to slip into the Omniversal Passage, which was not just a one-way passage to different universes, but also a passageway to any dimension of his choosing.

In this case, he would visit Zha Feng’s Mirror World. That was his only shot at defeating this man: to sever the connection that he had with the infinite Mirror World and draw his original body out, then defeat him in good old-fashioned hand-to-hand combat.

In Jacob’s opinion, anyone who felt the need to hide their real bodies in some kind of cocoon or alternate dimension and have shadow incarnations fight their battles for them was definitely compensating for some kind of weakness.

Once he severed the connection, he would be face-to-face with the real body of Zha Feng.

…

Moralus still watched carefully. The way Jacob smashed the staff in half had almost caught him off guard, but he calmed down the moment Zha Feng summoned another. He was pleased to find that Zha Feng was not at all fazed by the young white-haired man in any way.

But this battle still had a ways to go…
