Jacob stepped into the Mirror World. It was not much different from the battle arena that he had just left. He was instantly surrounded by a bunch of mirrors of all shapes, sizes, and designs.

The entire space was completely dark, pitch black even. He looked around and could make out the outlines of mirrors. Some were hexagon-shaped, while some were circular. Each of them led to different worlds.

But Jacob was not interested in travelling through worlds at this moment. All he could see in the mirrors was his reflection, even though it was distorted in some of them and just appeared downright evil in others.

He knew that as long as he stayed away from the mirrors, he would be safe.

He had to pause the flow of time and keep it at a complete standstill so that Zha Feng would not be able to notice his presence in the Mirror World. Zha Feng had time-space abilities, but compared to Jacob, they were rather mediocre, and as such, whenever Jacob tampered with time, Zha Feng would ultimately be affected.

Jacob squatted, and with a palm to the ground, he activated his power of Fate Manipulation, sending his Qi throughout the entire domain. Even though time was at a standstill, the Mirror World still vibrated, as though it were under immense pressure. He watched as glowing lines were formed in the ground, semi-lighting up the entire place as his power was passed through the dimension.

In less than a few seconds, he felt it—the connection between Zha Feng and the Mirror World was affected by his Fate Manipulation.

…

Jacob’s clone and Zha Feng’s fake mirror body had been going at it for a moment now, each attack being countered almost perfectly by the clone, as Zha Feng had already replaced his staff about five times by now.

‘Why is he not attacking? Eerie young man. Is he trying to lose?’ Zha Feng thought inwardly, wondering if it was true that Jacob did better on the defensive end, and whether the young man was just waiting for an opening to hit him with a perfect counter.

He knew that it was useless for Jacob to be thinking of a counter. There was no physical attack that Jacob could muster right now that would be of any consequence whatsoever.

Just as both of them stood not so far apart, Zha Feng felt it—the connection between him and the Mirror World was compromised. As this dimension was a huge part of his ability and had been connected to him for as long as he could remember, it was excruciating. An almost blinding pain shot through his head, causing something even more painful than a severe migraine.

The old man fell to his knees, with nothing but his staff to hold him up as he grunted in pain.

How was this possible? What even happened? How come he did not notice anything?

These were all questions that coursed through his mind as he struggled to look up at Jacob, whom he still didn’t realize was a clone of the original young man.

“Huff… huff… what did you do?” Zha Feng inquired in between deep breaths. As he was a mirror conjuration, there was no sign of physical duress. The majority of what was happening to him seemed almost entirely psychological.

Jacob knew that the main body of Zha Feng must have been rattled already by the disruption of the connection between him and the Mirror World. But it didn’t matter too much, because within that domain, he had paused time.

Even if the main body of Zha Feng were to walk into that exact space, he would also be affected by the effects of Jacob’s time control.

…

“What just happened? Krawww!” The black crow said in astonishment, looking over at the white crow.

“Oh no, it looks like Zha Feng is compromised,” the white crow responded.

“The two of you keep quiet. I’m sure he has this under control.” Moralus cautioned them both and focused his gaze on the two men in the arena.

Of course, they were all oblivious as to what went on behind the scenes. Due to Romstad’s height comprehension and keen observation skills, he was the only one who had seen Jacob replace himself with an identical clone of himself mid-battle.

“Jacob, you are insane. I can’t wait to meet you again. I must become your sponsor; there are no two ways about it.” Romstad adjusted his glasses so that they reflected the light.

Elyssara was still occupied with her Jacob clones and had forgotten to pay attention to most of the battle. It would take at least a decade before she got tired of them, but to a goddess like her, a decade was a speck of dust in the passage of time. In fact, her previous lovers never even reached the five-year mark.

…

Jacob still had a bunch of things to do to get to the main body of Zha Feng. He instantly used a fusion of his Infinite Comprehension and Copy Ability, allowing him to see through the countless layers of the Mirror World and identify the connection binding Zha Feng’s true body to its reflection.

The young man narrowed his eyes and took a deep breath, his silky white hair resting effortlessly on his shoulders, and his bluish-gold eyes entirely focused.

Instead of attacking the mirror, Jacob reached into the distorted space before him and grasped the invisible thread of causality connecting the two worlds.

CRACK!

The entire Mirror World trembled once again. Jacob pulled.

For the first time, Zha Feng’s true body was forcibly dragged toward reality.

It did not come as a surprise as to what Zha Feng’s real body looked like. In fact, it was exactly as Jacob expected.

Just as he saw what Zha Feng looked like, the man opened his eyes in surprise. He merely stood there in the darkness and had appeared to be passed out until Jacob tore open the Mirror World and found him.

Jacob instantly grabbed the man by the neck and pulled him out…
