Reborn in the 80s and Remarrying an Officer, Let the Ungrateful Cry!
Chapter 682: A Coincidental Meeting
"Stop crying. I’m just telling you to go back to your hometown. If you really don’t want to go, then let’s get a divorce."
Liu Gui’s words only made Sister in law Liu cry harder.
But there was truly nothing she could do.
She was more afraid of her husband divorcing her than she was of returning to her hometown.
Qin Wenhao wasn’t deaf. Of course he heard the commotion outside.
He looked at Fu Mingxue. "Honey, don’t pay them any mind."
Fu Mingxue: ?...
’Why would I get involved with them?’
Still, after the scene the Liu Family made today, the gossips in the family compound would probably stay quiet for a good long while.
While Fu Mingxue was washing up, Qin Wenhao brought breakfast to the table.
In addition to rice porridge and meat-filled buns, there were also two eggs.
After finishing breakfast, Fu Mingxue rode her electric bicycle to work.
The research and development for the engine was going quite smoothly.
The entire R&D team was incredibly busy.
Still, Fu Mingxue made sure everyone got one day off a month.
Of course, she was no exception.
When it was her day off, she went into town.
This time, however, she didn’t go with Qin Wenhao like she did last time.
Qin Wenhao had left for another mission a few days prior.
So Fu Mingxue was wandering around town by herself.
As it happened, it was also market day.
Just as she was browsing the market, a voice called out in pleasant surprise.
"Comrade—"
Fu Mingxue turned her head and was a little surprised to see the young woman with bright, sparkling eyes.
She pointed a finger back at herself.
"Are you talking to me?"
Wang Lihong came to sell her wares at every market, but unfortunately, she had only managed to sell two items last time.
She was genuinely thrilled to see Fu Mingxue this time.
"Comrade, thank you for buying my wood carvings last time."
She hadn’t saved quite enough money for her grandfather’s treatment.
The money from that sale was just what she needed to make up the difference.
And after taking his medicine and getting an injection, her grandfather’s health had improved a lot.
"Don’t mention it. Are you setting up a stall today, too?"
Fu Mingxue noticed that the young woman seemed even thinner than the last time she’d seen her.
Her complexion looked much worse, too.
Wang Lihong nodded. "Yes, I’m setting up my stall."
On normal days, she had to go to work.
But on market days, she would come sell these wood carvings.
Just to make a little extra money.
Unfortunately, she never sold very many.
Luckily, she could sell the eggs she collected each day.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t make a single cent at the market.
Fu Mingxue glanced at her, then walked over.
"What have you carved for today?"
As soon as Wang Lihong heard this, her face flushed.
"Comrade, I just called out instinctively because I wanted to thank you. I didn’t mean to pressure you into buying more of my carvings—"
She was mortified, terrified that Fu Mingxue would think she was just trying to make another sale.
"It’s alright, I want to take a look myself. I really like these kinds of handicrafts, after all."
Fu Mingxue crouched down in front of her stall.
"Are these new carvings?"
’I don’t think I saw these last time.’
Wang Lihong nodded. "Yes."
Fu Mingxue genuinely thought her craftsmanship was excellent.
Each piece was so lifelike.
"This one, this one, and these two here... how much for all of them?"
Wang Lihong froze, not expecting her to buy more.
"Well—if you like them, you can just take them. They aren’t really worth much—"
She had felt uneasy for a long time after charging twelve yuan last time.
"How could they not be worth anything? Your skill is incredibly valuable. Besides, how could I just take your things for free? Name your price."
